Mr. and Mrs. Rowan had been married for three years with no children. They had been mocked by everyone, including their relatives.
One year ago, Rowan's mum visited them. She nearly kicked Eva out of the house after raining insults on her. She called a male dog who could never give birth to any child. Rowan was the one who pacified her and told her that she would give birth to her own children someday.
Just like a joke, Eva was two months pregnant. She was dressed in brown clothing, standing close to her husband. They had just arrived at Bishop Daniel's residence.
After standing for close to three minutes, a police man came to open the door. He was holding a g*n.
"Good morning. How may I help you?"
"I am Rowan's and here...," Rowan said before he was rudely interrupted by the police.
"I never asked you to introduce all your kinsmen. As you can see, I have other things to attend to. If you know you came here to play, you can go back home."
Rowan was shocked when the police shut the door on them.
"A police? What the hell can a police officer be doing in the Bishop's house," Rowan said, looking at Rowan's face.
"I think the bishop has security men," Rowan said convincingly.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah," Rowan said, looking at Eva's face. "What?"
"I am scared, let's go home. What if there is a serious case that involves the police."
Rowan looked at Eva's face and kept silent for some time, before he replied.
"You may be right. Let's go home."
Rowan collected Eva's bag and the lovebirds moved in the direction of the left. They soon boarded a taxi which took them home.
It was exactly 11:08 when the doorbell rang.
"Hold hold, I am coming," Rowan said and sauntered towards the door. He opened the door and to his greatest surprise, it was bishop Daniel."
"Hi," the Bishop said briskly."
He walked into the sitting room in the company of three gentlemen men. Two of the men were police men which made Rowan more confused and afraid.
"Have your seats," he said before leaving the sitting room.
A few minutes later, he returned to the company of his wife.
"You are welcome, sir." "Please, who are these people?" Eva said, looking at Rowan.
"The Bishop and his men"
As soon as Eva heard this, she went on her knees as a sign of respect to the bishop. She had heard of the bishop's magnanimity, but she had never seen him face to face.
She asked what the Bishop would love to take, but he opted out.
"I am here to see my biological son. the heir to LGC."
"Your son?" Eva said, confused. She looked at Rowan on the face too who was also confused. She sat down close to him on the couch.
"Rowan is my son. I knew the very day he applied to work at LGC, that was the reason I ensured that he never wrote any application before he got the job, I also ensured that the manager increased his salary because I saw how unkept he looked.
"Ensure you are at work tomorrow because I would be handing over to you," these were the bishop's words before he left Rowan's house.
Evan was confused, but Rowan looked more confused. All he knew about himself was that he came from a very poor background. He had known Mr. James as his father right from birth, who was a retired poor farmer.
"Did I come into this world with a silver spoon?" Rowan muttered as he watched Eva leave the sitting room.
