CHAPTER 2: REVEALING THE TRUTH

Thea POV

"You know we have to tell her soon Thea. We can't keep putting it off! Her wolf will wake up in the next week and Friday night at midnight she will have to shift! She needs to know who she really is and also about her destiny! And so do Becky and Sophie as they are part of that destiny!" Alejandro whisper yells as he slams his hand on the kitchen table. We were busy having breakfast. "Ssshhhh.... you will wake up Thalia! Yes, I know we have to tell her. We'll have to tell her today after breakfast. I will call Becky and Sophie over because they need to know too." I pick up my phone and I call Becky and then Sophie over for breakfast. They said they'll be here in 10 minutes. Just as I sit my phone down, I hear footsteps coming down the steps. Thalia comes walking into the kitchen saying "morning mom, morning uncle Ale. What's for breakfast?" Alejandro greets her back. "Morning sweetheart. There is eggs, bacon and toast and also some blueberry pancakes. Your favorite." I said. "Yummy! I'm gonna dig in!" she says. I see Alejandro eyeing me over the newspaper that he is holding. Just then the back door opens and Becky and Sophie walk in saying "morning everyone" in unison.

"Morning guys, what are you 2 doing here so early?" Thalia asks "Your mom invited us for breakfast." Sophie says. "Actually girls, I have something to tell all of you after breakfast so let's eat!" The girls give me questioning looks but then they start eating their breakfast.

Thalia reminds me a lot of Carlos. I sometimes wonder how their relationship would be if he was still here. I am brought out of my thoughts when Thalia talks to me. "So mom what did you want to tell us?" We all moved to the TV room. I asked her "Sweety what do you know about witches, vampires and werewolves?" She said, "That they are supernatural creatures that don't exist by the way mom" I look at Becky and Sophie for a few seconds then I hear Alejandro clear his throat. Becky and Sophie know about me and Alejandro being werewolves and we know that Becky is a werewolf/vampire hybrid and that Sophie is a witch but they don't know about Thalia being the Lunar wolf.

"Well your uncle and I are werewolves, Sophie is a witch and Becky is a vampire/werewolf hybrid" I say to Thalia

Thalia POV

I stood there with a shocked look on my face. I just told my mother that I don't believe in werewolves, fairies, elves, vampires and all that supernatural mumbo jumbo. Yet here she is telling me that she and uncle Ale are werewolves, Becky is a vampire/werewolf hybrid and Sophie is a witch. Like seriously! I then stand up and shout  "YOU ARE SERIOUSLY JOKING WITH ME RIGHT NOW MOM!!" She looks at my with that famous look on her face which basically says 'don't talk to me that way young lady!'

"Your mom is telling the truth Thalia. We all are supernatural beings" uncle Ale says. "I don't believe you. I don't believe in any of this!" I tell them "Fine then there is only one way to show you! Follow me into the back yard now!" says uncle Ale. I ask him why should I. "Because our wolves are much much bigger than normal wolves and the living room is too small to shift in. Now come on!" We all follow uncle Ale into the backyard. We have a huge backyard with a shed where we keep our gardening tools, a swimming pool, a pool house and a huge patio with a table big enough for 12 people and a built-in braai (barbecue). Uncle Ale walks behind the poolhouse and mom goes behind the shed. I roll my eyes at them as I cannot believe this s**t but then I hear bones cracking and seconds later two huge wolves are standing in front of me. I cannot believe what I am seeing. I nearly fall backward but Sophie catches my arm. "This is soooo cool!!!" I scream.

"If you think that is cool then watch this!" says Sophie. She turns around and stretches out her arm then says some incantation and suddenly one of the chairs next to the pool starts floating in the air. "AWESOME!" I say. Sophie laughs as she sets the chair back on the ground. "Check this out Thalia." says Becky. Her eyes are red and she has fangs. "Fangs? Cool!" I say to her. "I am a vampire/werewolf hybrid, this is my vampire side." Becky extends her arms toward the pool and then the water starts making waves shapes into what looks like 'dolphins'. Becky waves her hands around making the 'dolphins' swim around the pool, jumping in and out of the water as real dolphins do in the sea. "WOW, Becky that's just awesome! You can control water!" I say. "Yes, that's one of my abilities." She replies.

I turn back to uncle Ale and mom's wolves. It looks like they are laughing at me. Uncle Ale's wolf is bigger than mom's wolf. He has light brown with a few white spots here and there and white paws. I run my fingers through his hair. I feel mom's wolf lick me on my cheek. Mom's wolf is white all over. I walk around her while running my fingers through her fur. "I'm sorry for shouting at you earlier mom. Can you please forgive me?" She puts her huge head against my forehead. I take that as a sign that she is not mad at me. Mom and uncle Ale walk back to where they both shifted and I can't help but think that I'm just a normal human being while my family and friends are supernatural beings.

"So what do you think?" Sophie asks me. "This is so awesome but also so unreal at the same time. I'm just trying to wrap my head around all of this."

Mom and uncle Ale finally come back out fully clothed and I ask mom why I'm human and they are werewolves. Mom says there is more that she needs to tell us. "Let's all head back inside and I'll tell you while we have some coffee okay." We all head back inside and go and sit back on the lounge chairs after we made some coffee. "Sweetie you are not human. You are also a werewolf. Your father was also a werewolf." My eyes almost bulge out of my head. "But where is my wolf mom?" "Werewolves only receive their wolves the day of our 18th birthday but yours is a special wolf. She will wake up 2 days before your 18th birthday and at midnight on Friday you will have your first shift." "What do you mean by special wolf mom?" I ask mom

"Your wolf is what we call a Lunar wolf in our world. The Lunar wolf is part of the Tribrids. A trio of ass-kicking heroines. a Wolf with special abilities that no other werewolf has" mom says. I hear gasps from Becky and Sophie. "How do you know this Mrs. Fernandes?" Becky asks and I turn my attention back to mom. "Because the Moon Goddess herself appeared to me and told me that Thalia is the Lunar wolf. She said that Thalia has a destiny and that you two are also a part of it along with your mates." Mom says. "Mates? What is that?" I ask "It is the only person who will love you forever. The person that is paired up to be with you and loves you for the rest of your life. The pairing is done by the Moon Goddess long before we are born. Oh, I can't wait to meet my mate!" Becky says. "So basically its like soulmates?" I ask them "Yes sweetie your father was my mate." Mom says. My father. Now I can't help but think of him and I miss him terribly even though I don't remember him. I've only seen pictures of him that mom has kept around the house. She never talks about him even when I ask her. Even uncle Ale never talks about him. I will have to talk to mom later about dad as I would really like to know more about him.

"Mom do you know what abilities I will have?" I ask "No honey I don't. The Moon Goddess didn't tell me that. I guess we will have to wait and see. You will receive them after you have your wolf. All I know is there is a war coming and only you 3 along with your mates will be the ones to stop it!" Mom says "Mom I'm not mad at you guys at all but why didn't you tell me about this? Why now?" I ask "Because I had to protect you. I was told by the Moon Goddess to do that. The fewer people know about you being the Lunar wolf the better. There are many evil creatures in this world who will stop at nothing to get what they want and they don't care if they hurt others in the process. All they want is power and having the Lunar wolf under their control will give them just that!" mom says.

Uncle Ale's phone starts ringing. He has been quiet since we came back into the house. "Sorry girls I have to take this" He says. He gets up and walks out of the room.  "Mom, can we talk later about dad?" I ask her. "Sure sweetie I'd love to tell you all about him. I'll see you, girls, later. I have to get to the restaurant. I love you. Bye." "I love you too mom bye" I say "Bye Mrs. Fernandes." Becky and Sophie say in unison. Uncle Ale walks back into the room and says "I also have to go. I have to get to the office. Bye girls, I'll see you later. Don't make too much trouble and mess up the house like last time!" "We did not mess up the house! It was just the living room and we were playing Monopoly!" I shout back. Uncle Ale laughs as he walks out the front door with mom behind him. She is also laughing shaking her head. We look out the window as they get into their cars and go their separate ways.

I turn back to the girls and ask them if they want to watch a movie or two. They nod their heads. "Okay well, can you guys tell me all about the supernatural beings because I need to know everything?" "Yes, girl time! I'll go get the drinks and popcorn while you guys choose the movie" Becky says while she runs into the kitchen.

"So what do you want to know?" Sophie asks while she reaches for the remote control. I swear these girls think they own the place and not us. I smile as I think about their antics

Alejandro POV

As I sit in the lounge with the girls and I hear them talking about mates. I cannot help but think about my Andrea. My sweet mate Andrea. Andrea and I met when we were both ten years old when she and her mom joined my pack, the Blue Stone pack.

FLASHBACK

Her mother's first mate, Andrea's father, was killed in a rogue attack at their previous pack which was called the Golden wolf pack in the Free state, situated just outside Bloemfontein. Andrea was just 7 years old at the time. We became friends that day she moved in. Her mother Sylvia met her second chance mate, he was our head trainer Daryl Matthews when our Alpha sent him to Golden Moon pack to help train their warriors. He came back with a mate and stepdaughter. Sylvia and Andrea were welcomed to our pack and Daryl looked good after them.

Growing up together we had huge crushes on each other but we decided not to date until we were 18 to see if we were mates.I always looked out for Andrea. Andrea and I were born on the same day. When we turned out to be mates, we just could not keep our hands of each other. Life was great for us. We decided on having children a bit later because we wanted to enjoy our lives first and achieve our dreams as well. After school Andrea enrolled in college to become an interior decorator, it was her dream and I was training to be the next beta of Blue Stone. but that all changed one night when I was 22.

Andrea and I went out to see a movie and when we were driving back to the pack, we were attacked by rogue vampires. At least 20 of them. I managed to kill some but one motherfucker stab me several times with a silver knife laced with wolfsbane. Wolfsbane can weaken a wolf or even kill a wolf. The same goes for silver. But both combined can be lethal. I felt myself getting weaker. Too weak to move. As I looked up I saw the motherfuckers beating  Andrea. She wasn't a fighter at all. The vampires held Andrea up and one of them, I look into this man's eyes and I notice they are red. He tells me his name. Demetrius Stone. a Name I will never forget. I then see him grabbing Andrea by her neck snapping it! I scream as I feel the pain of the mate bond breaking. My mate was dead and I couldn't do anything about it.

The vampire turns to me and says that we will meet again before disappearing. I scream "you better hope I don't make it because if I do, I will hunt you down and kill your motherfucking ass!" When the wolfsbane finally starts to wear off, I crawl my way back to Andrea. I held Andrea in my arms as I cried my heart out! "I will find him, Andrea. I will find him and f*****g kill him, even if it is the last thing that I do! I promise you that!"

FLASHBACK ENDS

I was brought out of my thoughts when my phone rings. I see that it is my best friend Jake. He is now Alpha of Blue Stone. Over the years he has been helping me trying to find Demetrius Stone. Andrea was like a sister to him and he wants to help me get revenge for Andrea's death.

Alejandro: "Jake hi what's up? Is there any more news?"

Jake: "Hi Alejandro, yes there is but it's better if I tell you in person. I'm in Durban. I'll meet you at your office."

Alejandro: "Sure man I'll be there in half an hour."

Jake: "Great. See you then."

Jake is the only person who knows where we are. He has never betrayed me or told anyone where we were. I trust that man with my life!

I hang up the phone and go up the stairs to my room. I get dressed then I head out. "I also have to go. I have to get to the office. Bye girls, I'll see you later. Don't make too much trouble and mess up the house like last time!" I tell the girls. "We did not mess up the house! It was just the living room and we were playing Monopoly!"Thalia shouts back at me. I laugh as I leave the house and get into my car. I head to the office and when I get there, Jake was already waiting for me in my office. He gets up to greet me. "Long time no see old friend!" I tell him. "What do you mean long time? I saw you last month!" he says. I tell him it feels like ages ago. He just laughs at me. I walk to my minibar and poor each of us a shot of Johnny Walker Black Label. That's my and Jake's favorite drink.

"So I have to tell you something. Alpha Johnson of the Red River pack called me yesterday. The Red River pack was attacked 3 days ago by rouges and vampires. Just over 100 were injured and 257 pack members died. They managed to capture one vampire. While torturing his ass, the vampire told Alpha Johnson something. The vampire said that he is working for a man that calls himself the rogue vampire king. And you won't believe what this bastard's name is!" Jake says. "Demetrius f*****g Stone!" I reply as I slam my hands on the table. "Yep. That's him alright! And another thing, I believe his hideout is here in KwaZulu Natal. The captured vampire also told Alpha Johnson that. My warriors are looking into it now." Jake tells me.

"How did Alpha Johnson know you were looking for Demetrius?" I ask. Jake says "I told him a couple of years ago that I was looking for Demetrius Stone. I never told him why just that Demetrius did something despicable and he didn't ask any more questions. Alpha Johnson and I have a great relationship. Our packs are allies and he has also been helping get us more information. Alpha Johnson has reason to believe that a war is coming and so do I. We think that rouge feral wolves and vampires are working together to take us down. Attacks on our packs have increased in the last month alone!" Jake says and I look at him furrowing my eyebrows.

"What do you mean they are working together?" I ask and Jake tells me that the rouge wolves also have a leader. "Tony Alanzo. I believe you know him very well?" Jake says. I look at Jake and tell him "Oh yes I know that motherfucking asshole! He will pay for what he did to Thea and Thalia. I will make sure of it!"

"Well, I think you will be able to kill two birds with one stone. Alanzo calls himself the new king of the werewolves! We'll just see what Alpha King Damien has to say about that! I believe the Alpha King has already been informed about these two motherfuckers. I have a video call scheduled with Alpha King Damien at 3 pm today. The King wants to know all the info I have on Demetrius and Tony."

"Go ahead and tell the King everything. Keep me posted." I tell Jake. "I will my friend. Next weekend there will be a huge meeting where all the alphas and betas will get together with King Damien to discuss these attacks. Beta James and I will be attending that meeting. I have to get going. Tell Thea I say hi" Jake says as he gets up.

Jake has always had a soft spot for Thea. While growing up I always teased him about Thea. I think he had a crush on my sister and I also think she had a crush on him too but they never admitted it. Jake met his mate Nora when he was 19 and Nora was 18. Jake and Nora hit it off right from the beginning. Nora was human. She accepted Jake even though he was a werewolf. Nora and Jake had two sons together. Jonas is 20 and he is also the future Alpha of Blue Stone and Nathan is 17. Nora died 6 years ago due to cancer. Jake took her death hard but he made it through saying that his 2 sons and his pack needs him and Nora would want them to be happy. Like me, Jake has not met his second chance mate yet.

"I will Jake! See you soon!" I say as I get up and walk Jake to the door.
