Chapter eighteen: car drifting

(Jen's perspective) 

“I can't wait to go on the tracks,” Danny yelled from the back seat and once again his feet on joey’s back seat. He removed his shoes once again. Harry and Greg joined us as they had nothing to do and my dad h=have them days off for today and just for today. 

“Are you going in the car with joey Jen?” harry asked and I shook my head. 

“I don’t trust him with fast fast cars on the tracks,” I say and looked out the window. We were driving out to the tracks which were far and I mean far.  It’s a four-hour drive to the hidden tracks since drafting is illegal. Greg chuckled as Joey put his hands on my bare leg. It was going to be hot so I wore shorts and a crop top. 

“Just watch me be cool babe, I'm sure you're going to be the best driver out of all of them.” joey says and made circles in my inner thigh. 

“The guy said and we need the drivers will drive for us first before we drive so you can see how it feels like to be a drifter second hand,” Danny said and he was on his phone. 

“So we’ll drive with pro’s first and then we drive alone?” Greg questioned and looked at Danny at the back seat. Danny nodded and my internet stopped working. I realized we're out to serve rang. I groaned and joey chuckled and moved his hand more up my heat. 

“You knew we were driving far babe, you can last half a day without posting and serve right?” joey grabbed my hand and he intertwined our fingers. I shook my head and the other boys went to check their phones. 

“Well I can live without the internet and texting, harry and dan for sure can’t though,” Greg says and put his phone on airplane mode. I did the same. 

“Were going to do something fun anyway so it makes up for that fact,” Danny said and he was right about that part. Harry nodded as he put his phone away. 

“I think the pro is going to be with you guys as you drive so your not going to be alone but they’ll direct you as you drive,” I say and they all turned my way. 

“That makes sense if they do that. We do need guidance while we drive.” Joey continued to focus on the road. He was still holding my hand tight even though he didn't have too. 

“You should try to drive Jen.” harry said and I scoffed. I put my legs up on the seats. I put my phone in my bag and joey’s phone as well. Joey kissed the back of my hand. I giggled to this. 

“Can you guys not be lovey-dovey in front of us, just because we all haven’t found are forever doesn’t mean you have to show off,” Harry Said groaning and I just rolled my eyes to this. Joey turned to a different road or off-road. It was a little bumpy. Joey let go of my hand and put both his hands on the steering wheel. 

“I’m just glad we browed my uncle's truck with a back seat.” just then Danny fell off the back seat without the seat belt of course. We all jumped as we went past a giant hole in the ground. I yelped and held on to the handle above you. The truck had a lid on top of the truck so we can hear are stuff it the lid, lucky I had my professional canon camera on my neck. I was clutching to it like it was my baby. 

“Mother fu- joey!” Danny hit the back of Harry's seat. I just look back as Greg and Harry started to laugh. Joey started to laugh too. 

“You knew we were going to go off-road.” joey manages to say as he settled down his laughing. 

“I was ready dan, you should f at least out on a seat belt or at least double the seat belt,” Greg says jokingly and manged to clam down his laughing. Harry was still laughing hard. He was even holding his stomach. 

“I can't breathe..bro you should always wear a seat belt in a car.” harry says finally calming down. Dany got back up on his seat sitting normally like how he should have been sitting. I shook my head as the three other boys calmed down.

“He does what he does and he will face the consequence,” I say and joey chuckled. 

“Danny f***s with girls and he gets calls on a daily basis.” joey says and we made it to a building in the middle of the desert. There were long track and cars ready for us. I saw peter the guy with the tesla in the front of the doors with the owner of the track. Joey parked next to the guys truck too. It not good to bring a tesla to a rough road desert. He had the same idea. 

“Hey guys, you bought your girl too? You two are inseparable.” Peter said as joey turn off the car and noticing us. I stayed at the passenger seat as harry, Greg, and sanny got out of the car. Joey got out of the car quickly as he jogged to my side. I opened my door and Joey put out his hand. 

“He has too. plus, it's her dad bought her to the car show. We wanted to come since they didn't come to the car show.” Danny said and pointed at Harry and Greg. They both waved to peter as peter waved back. I hopped off the car since it is a truck. He closed the door for me while I put my backpack on both my shoulders. Joey intertwined our fingers and he pulled me as we walked. 

“Nice to meet you guys, it's nice seeing you again Joey. Y'all ready to drift.” Peter Said and we all walked to the front door. The guy that owned the track which I recognize now. He’s one of my dad's good friends that went to college with him. I think his name is jimmy or him for short. I remember meeting him when I was a kid but I don’t remember how old I was. 

“So we have are drivers readying up so they will teach you how to drive but after but they need to be there with you,” Jimmy Said and he opened the front door for us. We all walked in first and he walked in last and closed it and locked it. 

“See I knew it, at least you're in good hands,” I say in a low voice to Joey. Joey shook his head.

“Just hope we don’t kill both of us at the same time.” Joey jokingly says. I looked at Joey while we walked to another door with a card swipe reader. There was a sign saying ‘employees only’.” Jimmy swiped his card and the door opened slightly. He opened it for us and we all walked in first before jimmy walked in and close the door. 

“So Jeannie right? How is your father doing? I haven’t had contact with him for years until recently for this.” Jimmy Said and Joey tighten his grip on my hand. 

“Don’t worry baby,” I whispered in his ear and looked at Jimmy. “He’s good. I recognized you not right away but I do remember meeting you as a kid.” I say and jimmy started to laugh. 

“I'm surprised you remember that much from your childhood. I met you when you were five. You were the sweetest girl I ever met, your still that kind girl I know as a baby.” Jimmy Said and I just put a smile on my face. My parents raised me right that one thing for sure. 

“My parents taught me well, not my brother though,” I say and jimmy nodded. We walked down a hallway that led to stairs leading down. 

“How is your bother doing?” We started to walk down the stairs. We were going slow as we had time to kill. 

“He's married and has a baby now. One year old.” I say as Jimmy looked surprised. 

“How old is he?” Jimmy stopped at the bottom of the stairs waiting for me. All of us made it to the bottom of the stairs. 

”23, he lives on his own with his wife.” I say and jimmy nodded. 

“That's nice to know he moved. I bet you miss him.” All of sudden a guy walked up to us. And jimmy noticed him. “You guys can follow him, he’s my P.A so he knows around this place,” Jimmy says and Joey kissed my head. 

“Make sure you call me if he tries anything.” Joey leaned in kissing my lips this time and he let me go walking off with jimmy’s P.A. Danny was talking to Greg and Harry as Peter I’m talking to jimmy’s P.A. Joey went to catch up to Harry, Greg, and Danny. He started to talk to them. 

“He very protective of you. Do your parents approve of him?” Jimmy and I started walking right behind them. I hugged My body tight for some reason.

“They do, he’s my next-door neighbor and our parents are close.” Jimmy nodded as he stopped at a door that says ‘jimmy’s office’. He opens the door and he let me step in first. I look to see Joey looking at us and back to the boys. He looked worried of course.

“Wow and let me guess you guys f**k on a daily?” Jimmy Questioned and I just froze. 

“Well, he is my first time. He works for my dad, including his friends, not Danny though.” I say nd jimmy closed the door behind him as I sat in the seat across from his desk. 

“So Danny moves out and he moved in after the house wasn’t sold for so long?” Jimmy went to sit in his chair. Jimmy also met Danny but Danny didn’t trust jimmy. He didn’t like to be around him. I trusted him so I played with him until he moved to the next city when I was 12. 

“Yeah, he took the room that was across my room aka Danny’s old room.” I put my bag next to me. I was about to pull out my phone but I stopped myself. 

“So you guys are communicating through white broads or text?” Jimmy leaned back in his chair. He was interested in what happened since I haven’t seen him in so long. 

“We visit each other houses. We text but only when..” I lean back in my chair as jimmy nodded. He chuckled and nodded. 

“I see but he is never letting you out of your sight. I bet he said to text him or call him if I try anything huh? I have a wife so he has nothing to worry about.” Jimmy pulled out his phone and went through it. He then clicked on it and he passed his phone to me. There was a picture of him and his wife with a two-year-old and a newborn baby. 

“Congrats, Clare right? I think I met her or heard of her when she called you at one point.” I say and handed jimmy his phone. He grabbed his phone and put it in front of him.

“We just started dating when I met you and Danny. I’m just glad she decided to move in with me, marry me and have a family with me.” He said and I cracked a smile. 

“Everyone will find someone, I think I met mines. We’re going to the same college. He used to be a f**k boy but he changed as I changed him and now he’s nicer towards people as before he was a d**k. He does have anger problems but he controls well since I’m always around him anyways.” I say and jimmy nodded. 

“Make sure you stick your word, he might be Nice now but he’ll change over the years especially after you get married. I'm just happy you're happy.” Jimmy put a smile on his smile and I smile back.

“I’ll note that,” I say. I didn't think of that but it good to be reminded.

(joey’s perspective) 

“That was fun, we should do this often.” Danny removed his helmet. And so did i.  We just got done drifting with the driver in the passenger seat of course and it was fun. It was scary at first but you get used to it. Jen was talking to jimmy as I got to know his name from his P.A. they were in his office for a while but they came out of his office to watch us. She was still talking to him as we were driving. I learned from Danny that jimmy is a friend of her dad and she met him as a kid. They must be catching up on the years they haven't seen each other.

“Depends if we ever get caught in the act.” harry says and fixing his hair. He put his helmet on a bench near him. Just then I felt arms around my waist. I turned around to see Jen hugging with a smile. I smile back at her and hugged her back by her shoulder. I kissed her head. 

“So how is it like catching up with an old friend?” I asked and Jen just closed her eyes nuzzling in my chest. I was wearing a suit since drafting may cost are normal clothing some damage if we f**k up. 

“It was good, he married the girl of his dreams and have two kids.” Jen looked up at me and I had a bad feeling. I sighed.

“We need to talk about kids and a family another day babe, too soon.” I poked just nose and Jen frowned. 

“I’m just saying, he has kids and kids are going to be a challenge but there a life lesson baby. Besides, we have time before we have the ‘talk’.” Jen says and I nodded. The fact that was both still 18, I can agree with that. I put my helmet on the bench next to me and hugged Jen by her shoulders. I pulled her close to me. 

“How many would you like?” I asked and Jen giggled. 

“Here I thought you didn't want to talk about it,” Jen says and shook her head, she put her hands on my chest pushing us apart slightly so we can look like each other. “I want just two. I don't want to much stress on my hand as I just want a simple small family,” Jen says and I nodded. 

“I can't see us having three not two as we will..” I say and lean in Jen's ear. “..have s*x often.” Jen giggled to this and I kissed her cheek playfully. I moved my hands to her waist and Jen tried to push me away as I kiss her to her jawline. 

“Can you guys not, you're making me feel jealous,” Greg says groaning and I chuckled.

“You find one yourself one day,” I say and kiss Jen cheek this time and hugged Jen tight. 

“Are you dating anyone Danny?” jimmy asked and he sat down on a bench near the tracks. Danny looked jimmy’s way. Danny combed his hair back and sighed.

“No, but I did date a girl months ago. She was scary as hell and we were not really in love after years. I just when to be a player and so far I'm having fun.” Danny crossed his arms across his chest. Jimmy looked surprised and looked away.

“The same goes for you two?” jimmy asked looked at Greg and harry that was talking to each other. They look at jimmy. They both scoffed of course. 

“Of course, we're not into staying with one person, unlike joey over there.” Greg pointed at me while I was still holding on to Jen tight. Jen let go of me and she was now on her phone. Jimmy gave her the wifi and now she been busy on her phone. I don’t mind this as it keeps her from being bored. 

“It just happened and I don't regret it,” I say and Jen smiled to this. 

“You’ll find one guys, you're going through a phase right now,” Jen says and jimmy chuckled to this. he then pulled out his phone from his pocket. 

“We should take a break and maybe do another round?” I questioned looking at the time. It was past 12 and I wanted to go another round. Jimmy sighed and he turned the other way.

“That a good idea, I’ll order pizza from my friend. So three or four. I know you boys love to eat as so, do i. Jimmy said and he pulled out his phone calling someone. 

“You don't a lot baby, I don’t see you, not stuff food down your mouth unlike the other boys over here,” Jen says and Danny looked are away. I just scoffed. 

“I’m being a gentleman in front of you, I like to eat clean anyways. Have you seen my room?” I questioned and Jen rolled his eyes. 

“Maybe you do eat a lot now that I think about it but you eat like a gentleman,” Jen says putting a smile on her face. I just looked at her with a ‘really’ face. Danny chuckled as Greg shook his head. Harry was just on his phone taking pictures of the track. 

“Joey does care about his ego too much if you think about it,” Greg said as jimmy came back. 

“Got one pepperoni, one meat lovers, one cheese, and one veggie.” jimmy said and he put his phone back in his pocket. He had his own credit card in his hand and put it in his wallet in his back pocket. 

“Did you get soda too?” jimmy’s P.A asked and jimmy nodded. I know jimmy got more than soda at the least. He seems like the fun type to party anytime. 

“I hope you mean alcohol?” Harry question putting his phone away. Jen rolled his eyes to this, she knows we have to party right?

“We have party boys Jeannie, I’m sure your father would have done the same.” jimmy said and he sat down on a seat next to him. Jen shook her head. I just kissed Jen head and whispered in her ear. 

“I’ll not drive and let the driver drive for me if I’m to hammered,” I say and Jen shook her head. She’s not going to let that fly huh?

“No way I’m letting my babysit in a car with a hammer driver too. I know the driver is going to drink too and jimmy will not allow that.” Jen looked up at me and I sighed. Now I have to decide if I should drink or not. I don’t want to upset Jen.

“Can I have a few shots? I’ll sober up in the meantime and then I’ll drive when I’m sober enough by jimmy’s permission.” I say and Jen rolled her eyes. I’m trying my best to get at least a burn in my throat.

“Fine but just four, I know you don’t get drunk so easily.” Jen kisses my cheek and I cracked a smile on my face. She knows me too well. 

“Thank you, babe, I love you,” I say and kissed Jen back passionately. Jen giggled in the kiss as jimmy came back with bottles and soda. Let’s start the party. 

Three hours in and we were leaving the drifting place. We didn't get another go for driving but it was fine. I took more shots hen I thought so now Jen was driving my cars as I was sobering off on the alcohol. Jen was the only one that didn't drink. She was struggling to drive the rocky road but she need s to j=know how to drive them at least in the future. 

“Next week right? I can't wait.” Danny said and he was laying on my back seat again but this time I didn’t care as he was drunk like me. He needs to calm down. But that goes for all of us but Jen. we made it to a flat road and Jen sighed in relief. 

“I hate that road and it’s going to be the death of me.” Jen said and she looked forwards as she drove. I have to be honest but she looked hot driving my dad truck, I always wanted a truck and I think I found a reason why. “I also need to get used to manual, I’m used to automatic,” Jen says and she looked at m for a quick second before looking back at the road. 

“You know a truck is good to have for moving and I think I want to get one with my own money. I’m sure your dad and I can fix it up a bit to make it brand new,” I say and Jen looked surprised to this. 

“So you're going to buy a used truck and fix it? I mean it’s better than buying a new truck but don't you want a backup camera?” Jen questioned and I just shook my head to this. 

“I don't mind not having one. I like using the mirror from time to time.” I looked behind me to see harry, Greg, and Danny asleep. I look back forwards as Jen was driving carefully. 

“Looks like I have to get used to it if I have to borrow your car at one point too.” Jen put a smile on her face looking forward. Looks like it decided. I’m getting my truck.
