RAVAYA
"Welcome to tonight's Omega auction!"
My stomach churned with disgust at the sound of the auctioneer's voice. The applause that followed was deafening. It was moments like this when I hated the fact that I was born an omega.
"Here's our first Omega." He continued, and the men in charge of us removed the thin cloth covering the cage I was locked in. I held my hands to my bare breasts, keeping my head high. The thin material covering my lower half was barely holding on.
Those bastards thought they could break me. I was Ravaya Dawn Creed. The leader of Omega's Howl, a rebellion group that was crushed by a mafia syndicate three days ago. They could've killed me. But they'd chosen to make a spectacle out of me. Bastards.
The room reeked of alpha pheromones. There had to be at least 50 alpha males in the gathering. I couldn't see because they had made sure to blindfold and gag me. I smirked, clearly they didn't want to take their chances.
"This bid starts from five thousand dollars," the auctioneer said, and murmurs arose from the crowd.
"Six thousand dollars," a raspy voice said, and I c****d my head. I didn't have to see him. I could tell that he was an old alpha with rotten blood and an even more rotten heart. Disgusting.
"Eight thousand dollars," another pronounced, and I scoffed in disbelief.
I was worth much more than that.
"Ten thousand dollars..."
I sighed, shaking my head. Petty thief.
"Alright! Going for ten—"
Another voice interrupted him.
"Ten million dollars."
I froze.
That voice...it was deep and rich. He was young, he smelled good too. He exuded power all the way from where he sat. But I could smell his bloodlust and unhinged tendencies.
"Done! Sold for ten million dollars!"
Well, s**t.
I zoned out as my cage was unlocked and I was pulled out of it. I thought of all the possible things my buyer would do to me, unease settling in my gut like stone. Did he know who I was?
Just who was he?
A billionaire who played dirty?
A stand-in for the main player?
Paying ten million dollars for an Omega wasn't something an ordinary person could do. No, it didn't matter. I would escape either way and get my revenge on the monster who'd destroyed my people.
I was cleaned up and led out the back of the building with my gag removed. If I attempted to escape now, I wouldn't get very far before they used the automatic shockers wrapped around my ankles to their advantage. I needed to wait until my new master took it off me.
My ears perked up when I heard approaching footsteps. Then I smelled it...the smell of citrus, sugar and spice. My heart pounded faster as the newcomer drew closer.
Storm, my wolf stirred inside of me, and my heart sank. I had a bad feeling about this...about him...
"Give her to me," a baritone voice spoke. It was slightly raspy, possibly from smoking. Definitely different from the guy from earlier. Perhaps this was his own right-hand man.
A firm hand grabbed my wrist, and my skin heated up. Tingles travelled down my spine, and I let out a muffled gasp.
'Mate!' Storm howled in my head, and I felt the colour leave my face.
No, no, this can't be happening.
Of all the twisted games the Moon Goddess could play, she gave me him?
My breathing quickened as I was made to sit in a car. I couldn't sense anyone else in the car except for the man whom I'd been handed over to.
Maybe this was for the best. Maybe he was my ticket to escape.
"What's your name?" I asked, and he stayed silent. I twitched, amused.
He was definitely a brooder, more restrained than the other man. But I had a feeling that he was much wilder than the other on the inside.
"Come on, say something, Mr Steel," I drawled. Again, he ignored me.
I smirked.
If he wanted to play hard to get, I had to play dirtier. So, I opened my mouth and started singing the only German song I'd learned. Off-key, of course.
And that finally got his attention.
"Be quiet, woman," he growled, and I chuckled.
"This would've been easier if you would just cooperate," I sighed.
He was silent for a few seconds. Then he snorted.
"You don't seem to realize what's going on, do you?"
"As much as I'm not sure of what's going on, one thing's for sure. You know who I am, don't you?" I said.
"Ravaya Lycari. Heiress of the Lycari Syndicate." He replied, and my stomach churned.
This had to be some sort of joke. My last name was definitely not Lycari. Neither was I the heiress of the Lycari Syndicate.
"What does your boss want from me?" I demanded.
He said nothing, and I clenched my bound fists. I lost track of time for a while, my mind reeling. I could still recall the heat of the fire from three days ago. The sound of screams and gunshots still echoed in my head even now.
The car suddenly came to a halt, and as if on cue, it began to rain. Mr Steel opened the door of the car and grabbed me, lifting me into his arms, bridal style.
I tried not to let myself get affected by this, but my face was already heating up. Did he really have to carry me this way?
As we headed towards his destination, I heard a couple of men greet him with respect. Now, that was reasonable, considering the fact that he was the boss's right-hand man. Even so, it felt like I was heading into a werewolf mafia den.
Surely, that can't be true, right?
After what felt like an eternity, he dropped me on the floor, carelessly. I winced as pain shot through my body.
A different scent reached my nose this time. Expensive cologne...mint...
"Untie my guest's blindfold, please," a familiar voice said. It was my buyer.
I braced myself, my heart pounding like a war drum. The blindfold slowly slid from my face, and I blinked, my eyes watering.
He was sitting on a fancy chair, his long legs crossed in an elegant pose. His eyes were a bright silver, and his dark hair had silver highlights. He looked like he belonged on the front page of a men's beauty magazine. Clad in a midnight black suit and pink flip-flops, his eyes sparkled with that same unhinged energy I'd sensed earlier.
"Ah, you have such pretty eyes," he said, and I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Go straight to the point. What do you want?" I demanded.
"Hmm...you're just as feisty as I heard. Fine, I'll tell you."
He leaned forward in his seat, his expression going blank.
"I want you to marry me."
