Chapter 9
In the two weeks after the craziness that started with Michele clubbing Old Man Wallen to death in Canyon Jack’s, and ended with Danny blowing Gavin Fox’s head off on the out of town stretch of Main Street, Clearwater seemed to become the center of the universe. A horde of reporters came from back east, people from Hard Copy and a host of knockoff news shows, people from the networks, and writers from every newspaper from Seattle to New York.
In a wider world filled with violence of every stripe, this was a small tragedy, but the vultures had fallen in love with it, and soon too had the American public.
The reporters called it Blood Storm, which was catchy, if somewhat exaggerated.
The locals called the time that followed it The Press Storm, shaking their heads over burgers
