Part two

Donte pov Two years later....... "Come on plane leaves in five" I shout needing her to hurry up as I am on the clock right now especially as the first twenty-four hours are important to us, I don't need someone holding me up when its soldiers that need to be rescued. Asking for help from someone who's been in the exactly same place isn't something I would usually do, not when its the same platoon that has been caught once again, however this time it isn't Laura who was captured, it was her platoon which I shouldn't be surprised. Waiting for Laura to pack a bag I begin to look over where we are going while trying to come up with a plan but I haven't got all the information as of yet, once we touched down then I will. Seeing Laura behind me I start walking to the plane hoping it isn't the same rescue mission I had to do with Laura, that was one hell of a mission however we pulled it off and no one died, well no one was buried. Boarding the plane I watch my men look everything over making sure we have everything before strapping themselves in, I trust my men with my life as we have been together a long time too long sometimes, we have been all over the world with mission that are similar and theres some that just think how the f**k did this happen but this mission, I am hoping its a quick in and out. I don't want a repeat of Laura rescue mission as watching her lay there in her own blood is something I don't want to see again, I have no problem watching the terrorist bleed out as they shouldn't be shooting us in the first place anyway. Everything happens for a reason right?  "Lets get this show on the road" I hear Laura saying strapping herself down, I can see how nervous she is as she hasn't stopped moving, I don't think she can sit still when it's her old platoon unit that is in danger. I know she can put her feeling aside for this mission thats why I choose her for a little help but watching her now I have no idea whats running though her mind, theres no doubt Laura is one hell of a sharp shooter and a medic but I need her mind present and not where I think its going too, Connor.  Thats twice he's been in this spot of needing rescued and I am sure he knows what to do by now so Laura doesn't need to be nervous, we have got this. Feeling the plane moving I brace myself I have never mind flying but when the plane starts rocking then I have a problem with flying, waiting for the plane to level out I neck a bottle of water calming my own nerves now, however now that I'm settled I'm starting to regret necking the whole bottle. Once in the air I unbuckle my seat belt and stand up needing to stretch my legs a little before going over the files of everyone who was captured as the belief meeting I had mentioned it wasn't only Connor Platoon, they needed to make sure a certain solider made it home as her skills are irreplaceable. Even though I feel like I wasn't told all the information I can tell when someone is hiding something and thats what I felt, theres more to this soldier than we are being told.  One file after another I feel like my eyes are strained from reading everyone profile, I have already read Laura old platoon file and from reading them once again I learn nothing has changed, her unit is still put together and has a new medic Emma. There isn't much in her profile about her skills apart from her medical training and from learning her profile it's the first time something like this has happened I hope Connor is keeping her calm as I don't need someone panicking when I turn up. Picking up the last file I recognise the name as we have worked together a couple of times, Gabriella. Gabriella is one hell of a solider and her skills are unlimited she can pick up anything within a couple of weeks even days, from what I heard about her is that she doesn't have a unit, she jumps from one platoon to another depending on who needs her the most, with her set of skills I now know she's the one I have to make sure makes it back to base without a problem, no one can deactivate a bomb like her. Gabriella successful rate is off the charts plus I can't forget her hand to hand combat skills she can talk her way though anything as well. I have to admit I have a small crush just from reading her file, it doesn't help that I have already been there with her and would go there again, she's one hell of a women.  "You ready to dust those cobwebs off you? it has been a while since you been in action" I hear one of my men ask Laura looking at her as she places her wedding ring in her pocket wanting to keep it safe and a part of me wants to know the answer as well even though I know she has been training to keep her skills sharp I need to know she's ready for this, she may now only be a trainer but I have seen her on the field and in the gym working her arse off. I guess no one knows when you could get called back in for help, I didn't want to bring her back in the field after being out for so long but I really need another medic with me, her sniper skills are just a bonus on this rescue mission. I have no idea what the new medic Emma on Connor platoon will be like so bringing Laura was a no brainer, any one's mind can start to go crazy when they have been captured.  "I'm ready, no man left behind right!" smiling at Laura words I feel a little more relaxed knowing she's ready, working with Laura before helps the team relax a little better as taking a new medic with us who has never worked with my team could have gone anywhere, I don't trust easy but I trust Laura and I respect her like I respect my team and there opinions. I just hope her head stays on when we find her friend Connor and that he's in good shape, I know for certain that she will fall to pieces if she finds Connor body laying there which I hope isn't what I am about to find.  Touching down we all grab our equipment and board the helicopter to the base we be working from, the travel from the airstrip to base only takes less then ten minutes but those ten minutes feel like five hours as more time I am in the air travelling the less time we have to find everyone and bring them home. Looking out from the helicopter I admire the view its a better view I got from the plane we was just on, looking out the helicopter I bring my eyes back to my men who are ready, they are checking everything once again which I'm not surprised as they are always prepared. Feeling the ground under neath me I let out a small sound of relief as I make my way to the base ready to be looped in on where they are being held and who we are fighting against, I know the base leader will have some of that information for me. I am now on a clock and right now its running out, its time to get our soldiers back.
