Chapter 4

New beginning.

It was already 8:30 pm, and she needed a home to temporarily stay. So she looked for a cheap hotel. There, she took a bath and changed into her most decent clothing.

Grrrr.

Ran rubbed her growling tummy. “I’m so hungry. I need to eat.”

She opened her luggage and got enough money to buy food and clothes.

With the money she had, she is able to order foods that she had been craving since her past life. Lots of meats and noodles which she cannot eat as she needs to watch her diet. But in reality, it was just another way for the Cheng family to starve her to death.

After resting for a while, she immediately went to a boutique to buy clothes.

Before she gets to enter the boutique, she is questioned by the security guard.

“Stop! Where do you think you’re going?” The guard looked at Ran from head to foot.

Certainly, though Ran has a lovely face, she looks like someone who can’t afford the clothing of this boutique. So, Ran is not disappointed with the guard at all.

“Sir, I was tasked by my young miss to buy her clothes. Don’t worry, she personally gave me her money to get anything that would suit her.”

Ran told the security guard and smiled at him cheekily.

At this time, it is not uncommon to have maids buy clothes for their young miss or master, since online shopping is yet to be developed.

The security guard nodded and let Ran enter the boutique.

Ran immediately picked everything in her size. From clothes to undergarments, shoes, and accessories.

After an hour, she was able to buy herself a whole expensive wardrobe. This may look wasteful, but this is part of her plan.

When Ran went to the cashier, the cashier looked at her suspiciously. Ran shook her head and looked disappointed.

“You don’t have to worry, my young miss likes to splurge. This much doesn’t cost her much.” Ran said and acted as if she was tired of doing this.

Somehow, the cashier looked convinced and finally smiled.

“Your total is 218,350.00 yuan. How would you like to pay?”

“I will pay in cash.” Ran immediately took out the bundled money and shook the cashier and other staff of the boutique.

Since WeChat is not yet popular at this time, this much money is usually paid by cheque. But in her case, she can’t pay using a cheque.

“I’m so sorry for the trouble. My young miss already ran out of cheque.” Ran looked at them with a troubled face, but the staff didn’t mind her instead,

“Oh, this is not a problem at all!”

“Really? Then I guess you wouldn’t need to give me a change. My young miss specifically told me to keep the change since she won't need that small amount.”

Suddenly, the atmosphere inside the boutique became so lively and blinding! Everyone was so happy to help the cashier. They looked at Ran as if she was a kind fairy who helped them solve so many problems.

Then, they did not hesitate to help Ran carry the paper bags that she was holding.

“Your young miss must be an angel! She’s so kind! Please, come back here when you can. Thank you so much for selecting our store!”

Ran went out of that store elated.

However, she was not done yet. She still has 30 minutes before 10 pm. It was enough time for her to buy things she needed before leaving this city.

At exactly 10 pm, she arrived at her hotel with lots of paper bags. Ran did not bother to rest and immediately arranged her things in her new luggage. After that, she collected her old things and asked one of the hotel staff to throw them away. She then bathed and slept.
