Discerning Eyes
Wearing black baggy pants and a white fitted shirt, she looks effortlessly pretty. She did not wear any makeup and just put some sunscreen on her face. She wore some jewelry and then got her shoulder bag. She’s ready to venture outside.
Summer breeze. The sun is shining so bright. The street is not as busy as the one in Imperial City, but you can feel a harmonious vibe. It makes you feel relaxed. And this is the exact feeling that Xinran wanted to feel.
Xinran grabbed a cab and went to the nearest mall in town. It is not as fancy and luxurious as those in the imperial city, but everything she would need is here.
The first thing she did after arriving was to eat.
“Miss, are you sure you can eat everything?” The waiter was shocked after getting the orders of this beautiful young lady.
It is not uncommon for girls, especially with Xinran’s age, to diet. Eating foods that are high in carbohydrates and calories are something that typical young girls will avoid. Even woman in their 20s don’t eat this much in fear of gaining.
This waiter is actually concerned about Xinran as she may be one of those girls who ate a lot and will vomit everything later on. He has witnessed that many times.
“Yes, is there a problem?” Xinran innocently asked.
“No miss. Your orders are coming right away.” The waiter shook his head and immediately placed Xinran’s orders.
Shockingly, this young girl really engulfed everything on the table. And she didn’t look like she was going to vomit. This waiter is truly astonished.
After eating, Xinran stayed in her seat for a while to avoid getting indigestion. In the future, she needs to be mindful of the amount that she eats. Though it seems that she is gaining no matter how much she eats, it is still bad for the body to eat mindlessly. She needs to take care of her precious body.
Xinran then went to buy things for school. Bag, notebooks, and everything she will be needing. She also bought some painting materials. In reality, Xinran likes to paint, thus she pursued fine arts in her past life. However, coincidentally, Cheng MingSune is also interested in painting. So to avoid getting in Cheng MingSune’s way, she had to shift course and chose Interior design instead.
Her eyes glistened as she chose her painting materials. One could really see Xinran’s love for art as she meticulously chose the materials.
It was already 4 pm when she was done shopping. She then paid someone to deliver her things to her house while she was going to stay in a park near the mall to paint for a while.
The sun is still high up. The laughter of little children can be heard in the park. Ice cream vendors are also all over the place.
So peaceful.
Xinran sat on a bench and prepared her things. She is going to paint this lovely scenario!
While she was painting, people could not help but gaze at this beautiful young girl. With her flowing long hair and cool temperament, it was as if they saw a literal angel who came down to earth to paint these insignificant humans.
Some took a photo of her but did not bother her as she looked serious while painting.
Whenever Xinran paints, her focus is on her subject and her painting only. Unless she finishes her painting, she won’t notice anything or anyone at all.
Xinran put down her paintbrush and slightly massaged her wrist. Since this is the first she painted in this life, it was understandable that her skill cannot be compared to her skill in her previous life.
“Little girl, would you like to sell this little painting to me?” an old voice echoed in her side.
The old man was unfamiliar to her.
“Yes?”
The long man brushed his beard and then pointed to her painting using his cane.
“Your painting has immature strokes. Some of the colors you used complemented each other. And the technique you used doesn’t suit the painting.” he said while scanning her painting.
Xinran looked at her painting. This old man is not wrong. But it was amazing that he was able to evaluate her painting in a short period of time.
“You are correct. But with your discerning eyes, why would you buy my painting?” Xinran politely asked the old man.
The old man looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
“Hmp! You are not in a position to ask me that!”
Xinran fell into confusion. What is wrong with this old man?
