“Is that Ryker? He joined your Dad's rogue riders?” My mother commented as she glanced between us but I was frozen with shock.

Ryker… he was my mate? Hadn't the moon goddess punished me enough in this world?

“We have to head back, mother. I don't want to go anymore” I quickly said as I tried to Buckle my seat belt back with shaky hands.

As if he could sense my flight mode, he pushed himself off his jet black motorcycle and walked towards the car.

“Why? Wasn't he your friend? Shouldn't you be happy?” She asked with confusion laced in her tone.

I never told my mother Ryker was the reason I was brutally bullied so it was understandable why she still believed we were cordial with one another.

“Mum please just drive!” I yelled at her and her eyes instantly widened.

She quickly restarted the car but before she could drive out, my car door was suddenly yanked open and immediately, his scent invaded my senses.

“Mate!” My wolf roared within me but I could feel the sadness within her.

The man who had ruined our life was our mate?

“Get down” He ordered and I shook my head, refusing to look at him.

“No. Tell my father that I wouldn't be coming anymore” I muttered coldly and he sighed.

“Look, I've got other things to do. Don't waste my time” He uttered and I frowned before finally turning towards him and my breath hitched.

If I had thought Ryker was handsome in the past, he was a god now.

The red and black leather jacket with a black wolf and broken chains at its feet on his chest, clung onto his muscle like a second skin.

His blue eyes were even sharper now and so were the outlines of his face.

Fuck, I hated him.

“Then go f*****g do those things then and leave me the f**k alone” I retorted.

He didn't say anything. Instead, he dragged his eyes down my body and I couldn't read what he was thinking off his expression.

Was he judging me? Did he still find me disgusting?

Oh Goddess, I was going to be sick.

“Mum please” I turned back to her and she seemed extremely confused by the whole situation.

“Hey, Miss Amaya” Ryker greeted her with a warm tone, something he hadn't used for me.

Mum smiled at him.

“Look how handsome you've grown. I remember Jade used to…”

“Mum, stop it!” I snapped and we all went silent while I glared at her.

“What has gotten into you?” She questioned with a shocked look on her face.

“Let's go back home. Excuse me” I muttered to him as I reached out to close the door but instead, he grabbed onto my wrist and pulled me out of the car and onto his chest.

My wolf whimpered within me while my heart hammered against my chest as I glared up at him.

Without thinking, I reached up and slapped him across the face.

“Jade, what are you doing?!” My mother screeched as she got out of the car but my eyes remained on Ryker.

“Touch me again without permission and I'll gouge out your eyes” I threatened and an amused smirk crossed his lips which just infuriated me.

“What? You're not still over the past? Over my rejection?” He questioned and I could have sworn I heard my heart crack.

“I couldn't care less about you or the past…”

“Then start acting your age and stop throwing a tantrum. We are not kids anymore” He muttered and I clenched my jaw.

“What's going on between you two?” My mother asked and I tore my eyes away from him as I turned to her.

“We are going home” I told her and was about to climb back into the car when he spoke;

“The president gave me strict instructions which was to bring his princess back to the clubhouse and I shall carry out that order even if I have to carry you back there on my shoulder” He threatened and I halted in my steps as the temperature suddenly dropped.

“Can't he feel the mate bond?” My wolf questioned and I scoffed.

He probably didn't care.

“Maybe I'll just call your Dad and cancel…” Mum began.

“No,” I uttered as I turned to her.

I didn't wait all my life to get away from this place just to give it all up because of Ryker.

“I'll go with him but I'll be taking my own bike. I'm not getting on that thing with him” I told her and I could tell without looking back that he was rolling his eyes.

“Most girls would kill to ride my bike, Jade” He said with a smug tone.

“Well I'm not one of them and I never will be. Wait here, I'll go grab my bike" I told him then climbed into the car before he could say anything else.

My mother spoke to him for a while and I tried my hardest not to spare him a glance even though my wolf wanted me to claim him already.

“He ruined our lives, did you forget that?” I reminded her and she whimpered then went silent.

Even if she forgot, I wouldn't.

I couldn't.

Nothing in this world was going to make me accept Ryker as my mate.

My mother climbed back into the car after dropping off my luggage with Ryker then let out a sigh as she drove off.

“What the f**k was that? Why would you slap him? I thought you missed him…”

“Missed him? I don't know him so why would I miss him?” I asked calmly and she briefly glanced at me with a frown.

“Jade, Was Ryker…”

“Drop it, mum. Please” I said softly and she let out a sigh but said nothing else.

“I'll go grab it from the garage. Goodbye, mother” I told her and I could see it on her face that she was about to argue when her phone rang.

“Yes? The Luna needs me? I'll be there in a minute” She said then hung up and turned to me.

“Be careful” She said and I nodded with a tight smile before climbing out of the car and hurrying towards the garage.

I heard her car pull away as the garage door opened up.

As soon as I knew she was out of sight, I stared down at my shaky hands with a sigh.

Goddess, when was this going to stop?

“All I have to do is reject him and move on with my life” I muttered to myself, ignoring my wolf's blatant disapproval.

He didn't want us and we didn't want him.

I was about to walk over to my bike when I heard footsteps behind me.

“Pretty rude of you to decide to leave without letting us know, don't you think?”

My blood ran cold at the sound of the voice. I slowly turned around and it was Jake, one of the people that had made my life a living hell.

Him and Sienna took turns torturing me.

Behind him was a guy and a girl I knew not by choice.

“Luckily, I came here specially to give you a parting gift, my little piglet” He said with a grin and my heart sank…
