*Dave POV*
I heard my wolf Dexter yell out mate in my head the moment she came forward from the crowd. Then an intoxicating scent of rain and strawberries hit my nostrils. I took her hand up the stairs so she could blow the candle out. I felt the sparks shooting through my hand as we touched. I felt thrilled to have finally found my mate. I moved here from the outskirts of the packs borders in hope of finding her. When I turned 18 and shifted I was hoping to meet my mate. But that didnt happen. I waited for two years before I decided to just move around the pack. This was the last part of the pack on my list to check in. I chuckled to myself. The whole time she was just younger than me and I couldn't sense her yet. I hope me being older isn't a problem for my perfect little mate.
*Lisa POV*
The voice whispered mate. I looked at Dave and I kinda smiled. Wait...what was this voice? I'm your wolf, Lucy. Cool I got my wolf. I cant wait to meet you at midnight. As much as I wanna meet you, we will not meet tonight. I looked shocked and gasped. Before I could ask why not, Dave grabbed my hand. At that moment i could finally hear the cheers I drowned out during my talk with my wolf. "You're my mate." I said softly to him. He smiled and kissed my hand. I blushed. I turn to the crowd as their cheers started to quiet down. I spoke. "Today in these last few moments my wolf has announced two things to me. One I will not be shifting tonight at midnight as originally planned. " The pack members looked around puzzled as to why it wont happen. It's tradition to shift and run with the pack as a whole. I spoke again. " I know its tradition but she said we will meet soon enough. And the second announcement is that Dave is my mate." I turned to smile at him just to see he was already smiling back at me. Everyone broke out into an earsplitting cheer for us. Before any one could get comfortable to congratulate us personally, a loud roar rippled throughout the pack house. I looked up to see Alpha Chris and Beta Billy standing in the back of a parted crowd. I smiled awkwardly thinking that Billy might not have taken the news to well. But I noticed he was looking at the Alpha instead. Had that been an Alpha roar?
*Alpha Chris POV*
I watched as my beautiful mate ascended the stairs to blow out the candle on her cake. She looked amazing tonight. Usually the girls bought formal dresses for their parties that really didnt stick out, but hers was so different. Fun and flirty, yet still so elegant. I listened to the announcement of how we would not meet her wolf tonight. I sighed since it was one of the highlights of the evening I was looking forward to. But her second announcement made me furious. How could she think this baker was her one true mate?? I roared roughly before thinking. s**t. I said I didnt wanna reveal myself until I knew her better. But I was furious and I will not stand and watch her say he was made for her when it was me. She stared at my Beta. Again she thinks of him in a loving way. I stepped forward with a frown etched on my face. "I think you maybe confused. He couldn't possibly be your mate when I know for a fact that it is me."
*Lisa POV*
I stared shocked at our Alpha. I thought that Billy was upset or was even my mate but i was dead wrong. The Alpha stepped forward walking towards us. The strong smell of citrus and oak danced in my nose making me slowly step forward. Mate. I stopped in my tracks. "That's impossible. How are you also my mate?" I spoke softly and uneven. When the Alpha grabbed my hand I felt sparks tingling my fingers. I felt sparks with him but not when Dave held my hand. "I dont know how its possible but we will figure this out. Let's go upstairs to my office to talk." He said in a low tone. His voice was deep and dreamy. I was lost in the sound of his voice that I didnt even notice he was escorting me up the stairs to his office. Dave, my mom, and Beta Billy followed right behind us.
*Dave POV*
I was so happy after her announcement but when the Alpha made his own announcement, that had me heated. Who do he think he is trying to take my mate! I have heard of Alpha's taking claim to someone else's mate when his own mate was not worth it to him or felt they had a weak Luna. He wont be taking my beloved Lisa. I had waited to long for her and did alot of moving around for her. If it was a fight he wanted then a fight he would get. I didnt want to go against my Alpha but for my mate, I'd do anything. I followed behind them to his office to get this all sorted out. We all stepped in shutting the door behind us. The tension and the silence in the room was so thick, you could cut with a knife. No one knew what to say. We all were shocked at this new revelation. Something had to give! The Alpha cleared his throat before he proceeded to speak. "I'm not sure what exactly is going on here, but I am definitely her mate." I sneered at his words. How could she be his mate and not know it? Before she even acknowledged him, our bond was evident to her than his. Mighty Alpha isn't so mighty after all if his own Luna could not sense him.
How could she be fated to two different mates? An eerie feeling crept over me. I had no clue how but something deep within my wolf told me soon I would find out...
