The next couple of days went smoothly, and Kindel learned what Mr. Daniels likes to eat for meals at the office and how he treated his employees. It wasn't an enormous company, so he could get everyone lunch every Friday. They held different events for holidays and special occasions, like doing parties and other fun activities. Mr. Daniels gave Kindel the assignment of setting up each occasion down to the last detail. One night they were at work, and Wyatt was trying to figure out how to work up the courage to ask Kindel out on a date. The first day that he met her, he liked her, but he could not let her know that. Over time, while they worked together especially late at night, they got to know one another, and he really had feelings for her. Kindel was too scared to even look at Wyatt because she thought he might be like Travis. Wyatt asked Kindel what she wanted for supper, and they decided on Chinese. While they were eating and working, they were also talking and laughing. He asked her if she ever watched football, which she did, because Wyatt is a defensive end in the NFL. She loved football because it was something that she and her dad did together. They would watch Sunday, Monday night, and Thursday night NFL. Once Travis was in the picture and her family was not allowed to see her anymore; she no longer had that special connection. He would go on and ask who her favorite teams were or players. They talked for a while longer, and then he asked, "Will you go out with me?" Her breath hitched, and she did not know what to say, so she told him the truth, "You don't want to go out with me." He said, "Don't think you should let me judge that, and from what I know so far I want to get to know more and see if this leads anywhere." Kindel said, "You are a NFL player and can have anyone you want. Why do you want me?" He told her she didn't see dollar signs, and she didn't push a relationship; actually, it was the exact opposite, and he couldn't put his finger on it. She finally gave in and told him she would go out on a date with him. She was so scared that he would turn out like Travis, but also wanted to see if it works. The next few days, if they were not at the office, they were texting or calling. She would wake up in the morning and see a good morning, beautiful and did you think of your favorite NFL player, which makes her laugh. On Saturday, they had their first date. Meghan helped Kindel pick out a dress, shoes, do make-up, and hair. Wyatt was going to pick up Kindel, so when the doorbell rang and she went to get it, she was surprised that it was a driver. The driver helped Kindel into the vehicle, and that is where she found Wyatt. He thought she looked beautiful. She asked where they were going, and he said it was a surprise. They ended up at work, which confused Kindel. They went up in the elevator and ended up at the helipad. Wyatt was smiling the whole time while Kindel didn't know what to think. When they got into the helicopter, Kindel asked if he knew how to pilot this, and Wyatt said, of course. Wyatt had gotten his pilot's license five years ago so that he could help more with the foundation. Kindel again asked where they were going, and he said, "You will just have to see." They ended up on an island with a beach. Wyatt said that the island is his family's and is theirs for the weekend. Her mouth was wide open because she did not know he was made of this kind of money. He saw this and said I guess you are wondering how my family made our money? It was old money: oil. They ended up having a picnic supper that Wyatt had cooked, which Kindel did not know he could do. She has had no one cook for her since being with her parents. They swam in the swimming pool, talked, and then Wyatt finally kissed her. They kissed for a while until Kindel broke it off. They ended the night in very good moods. Wyatt showed her where she would stay, which was right across from him, and then they went to bed.
