Chapter 3

Havensteak was full of rich folks; they all glared at her when she entered the restaurant. “Ma'am, that seat has been taken. Come to this side,” Josh, the waiter, said, leading the way. “That's Mr. Johnson’s wife. What is she doing here alone?” One of the customers whispered. “I will come back to write down your order,” Josh declared, handing her the menu. At that moment, a tall figure walked inside the restaurant. Silence fell, and all the attention was on him. He is so handsome. Olivia thought. “Ma'am, have you made a decision?” Josh inquired. “Can I have Beef Wellington and a billionaire Cork tail, please?” she said, as she kept her eyes on the man. The man sat at the table, not too far from Olivia. His eyes met with Olivia’s. Her heart raced as she noticed his cold expression. He was wearing a shiny suit and a watch on his right hand. A few minutes passed, and Josh approached Olivia with a tray of food. She swallowed as she stared at the food she ordered. “Mhhh! It’s so good,” she murmured as she took the second bite. Within thirty minutes, she was done eating. Josh approached her with the bill. “Cash or Card?” he inquired. “Card.” She said with a wide smile. “It says declined, ma'am.” Her smile faded when she heard this. “It's impossible, please try again,” she whispered, noticing the folks' attention. Josh slid it on the machine three times. “It’s still the same. Don’t you have cash?” The waiter asked again, annoyed. Olivia’s heart raced. “Can I see the bill?” She inquired. Josh handed her the bill. She covered her mouth with her hand. USD 1650. What was I thinking about using Grayson’s credit card? She thought. All the folks in the restaurant were staring at her table. “Ma'am, are you going to pay or not?” Josh inquired, giving her card back. “What’s going on here?” The man asked as he approached. “Mr Haven, the lady doesn’t want to pay.” The waiter declared. Olivia wanted to disappear into thin air because everyone in the restaurant was staring at her. “What is wrong with Mrs. Johnson?” The customer inquired, as she shook her head. “Ma'am, are you going to pay or not?” Ethan inquired. “I don’t have money, I was going to pay with my credit card,” Olivia responded, voice trembling. “Then you will have to wash our dishes today to pay us back. Are we clear, ma'am?” Mr Haven shouted, one of his hands in a pocket. At Johnson’s mansion, Florence, Grayson, and Emily were sitting in the dining room with their guests. Peter came with his wife, son, and daughter-in-law. “Is Olivia going to join us?” Peter inquired, staring at the empty chair opposite him. Florence glared at Grayson and Emily. “Olivia and I are no longer together. I broke up with her,” Grayson declared, with a cold voice. Vincent paused at what he was doing. “What?” Vincent inquired. “Yes, I broke up with her. I gave her the divorce papers to sign,” Grayson responded. Peter and his wife always loved Olivia because she was raised well by her parents. “So you let your son make that decision.” Peter inquired, glaring at Florence. Florence took a bite of a piece of chicken and swallowed it. “If you broke up with Olivia, why is her friend eating dinner with us?” Peter’s wife asked. “Emily is carrying my baby. Olivia failed to give me an heir,” Grayson said quietly. “Are you saying you cheated on her with her best friend?” Peter’s wife inquired again, staring him in his eyes. Emily was facing down all this time, but she didn’t say anything. “Little girl, are you shameless? How could you agree with this?” Peter inquired; his gaze was on Emily. “Uncle, I know you are very disappointed, but I can’t let you talk to Emily like that. I did it for a reason. I will marry Emily because she is carrying my baby, whether you like it or not,” Grayson announced, his jaw tightening. “That is not the reason you left her. Let’s just say you didn’t love her. You should have told her a long time before marrying her,” Peter shouted, slamming his fist on the table. “Okay, that is enough, Peter. You did not come here to insult my son and his girlfriend. I will remind you about what you did years ago if you don't keep this news to yourself,” Florence declared, glaring at Peter with a cold expression.
