Adrain's pov
I walked into the hallway and was surprised at the commotion. The day had barely started and it wasn't even the break period yet and everywhere was in chaos.
My body froze when I saw Elsie at the far end, standing in front of her locker. She looked like she was hurt. I could see her hand bleeding while student laughed at her, pointing fingers.
But one boy in particular caught my attention, he was hovering over Elsie as she cried, pulling at her hair and saying words I couldn’t hear from where I stood.
I felt something inside of me snap when I saw Elsie in that state.
"Let go of her now!" My voice boomed across the corridor. The whole place went silent in an instant.
"I said let go of her now!" I shot at them again, making my way towards them.
"Oh my gosh, it's Adrain cole."
"Why is he standing up for her? I thought he hated her guts."
Some of the students were saying but I completely ignored them. They didn’t matter in that moment, only Elsie did.
The boy didn't let go of Elsie's hair instantly. The sight of her hand bleeding while she squinted her eyes in pain, begging for her to be freed, broke me.
I snapped and buried my fist into the boy's jaw. Loud gasps rippled among the students as the boy went flying until his back landed hard against a wall.
The other boys surrounding Elsie immediately scampered.
I turned my attention to Elsie, my expression softening. "Elsie, are you okay?" I asked her with concern etched in my tone. She was bleeding badly and needed urgent medical attention.
She sobbed so much, she was struggling to speak. My eyes burning with anger, I turned and faced the student I had just punched. He was still on the floor, recovering.
I stormed angrily towards him, grabbed him by his shirt and pulled him up from the ground harshly.
"You had the nerve to make my sister bleed!" I said through clenched teeth. I had lost control and the only thing that could put me back at ease was if I broke every of the bones in his body.
"No, please, I didn't bleed. She was already bleeding before I approached her." He pleaded with wide eyes. Blood had starred to drip from the corners of his mouth.
"You really take me for a fool, don't you?" I muttered before I brought my head down against his. I practically heard his forehead shattering before the impact sent him sprawling onto the floor.
He screamed in pain, holding his forehead tightly as he rolled on the floor. There was blood oozing from every hole in his face; his eyes, mouth and ears.
I wasn't done with him yet. I crouched down onto his level and made him sit upright by grabbing his holding onto the collar.
"Please, Adrain, I beg you...it was a mistake...i promise, I'm never going to put my hands on her again." He cried, the blood on his face made him unrecognisable.
I brought my face closer to his ear, the scent of blood filling my nostrils, "Mark my words boy and make sure you spread this info to your friends. The next time any of you harbour the thought of bullying Elsie Carter again, I will make sure to leave you all with the inability to make use of your legs."
"Yes, understood, sir!" The boy nodded his head vigorously. I yanked him backwards with force and got up.
The boy should have been ashamed of himself. He looked about my age, yet he was picking on someone old enough to be his younger sister.
Not a single noise was made as I walked back to Elsie. She seemed to be more shocked than the rest of the students.
"Adrain, why did you have to do that?" She glared at me, her dried tears still streaked on her face.
"A simple thank you would suffice." I let out.
"Thank you?..."
"You're welcome..." i cut her off.
"...that you almost beat a student to death?..."
"You're so full of empathy towards people. That's why you keep getting picked on." My eyes caught the torn papers on the floor. I picked a piece up, wiped the blood from my hands and threw it back on the floor.
"I'll send a cleaner down to this Aisle to clean up the mess, including his blood." I said. I glanced at her bloody hand.
"Make sure to visit the school clinic to have that wound bandaged." I said before walking away.

I wasn't surprised when news reached me that the principal sent for me.
I got to his office, knocked on the door thrice before letting myself in.
"Adrain cole." The principal called out sternly.
"Good day sir." I greeted, trying at the same time to sound too confident or haughty.
He gestured towards a seat right next to me, motioning for me to sit.
"Adrain cole, can you explain why you almost beat a student to death this morning along the hallway?"
"He was bullying my sister."
"Your step sister, you mean?" He said, inclining forward.
"What difference does that make? This student has been picking on my sister for the longest and nothing was being done about it so I had to step up and protect her."
"And by protecting her, you terribly injure another student?"
"Why didn't you report to the student body instead?"
"The same student body who couldn’t protect a student?"
"Sir, I'm sure you are aware that the student you entrusted to Elsie is her biggest bully. You knew this, yet you still made her coach him."
A long silence ensued.
"And are you aware that Ryan has been spreading false news about him sleeping with my sister. I'm sure you must have been aware that Ryan lied to the entire school that Elsie is offering her body as service in exchange for money."
