Elsie's pov
Adrian's protective instinct shifted and morphed as hours went by. Since when did he suddenly start caring this much about me. When the next day came, he was already at my door, ensuring I didn't step out of the house.
He knew the exact location I would head to if I left the house. I was yet to tell him what had actually transpired between I and Ryan. He wasn't oblivious to the allegations Ryan had laid against me.
Eventually, Adrian would get to find out that I was actually being threatened to coach Ryan until he aced all his courses. Soon, he would get to know that my admission was hanging on the line if I dared to stop coaching Ryan.
But he won't get the information through me. Adrian had his way of finding things out on his own.
Monday morning came and while I was preparing early enough so I could meet up with the bus, I heard a knock on my door.
"Elsie, take your time, I'll be dropping you off at school from now on." Adrian's voice slipped in from the other side of the door.
My lips parted slightly in shock. It seemed like a joke at first, but the seriousness in his tone couldn't be mistaken.
Adrain was willing to drop me off at school today? That sounded unbelievable. Did he perhaps hit his head hard on something before he went to bed. What had suddenly changed?!
I dressed up quickly because Adrain had a perk for being on time. I took one look at the mirror to reascertain my confidence before I headed out.
Adrain was already at the garage, leaning on his bike while waiting for me.
"You were quick. I told you to take your time." He said without meeting my gaze.
"I was done already, plus, I didn't want to delay you any further." I said.
He nodded his head and hopped onto the bike before handing out a helmet to me.
"Thanks," I said. I never admitted that I had trouble putting the helmet on. He noticed my struggles, came back down from his bike and helped me with the helmet.
My mind reeled at the way he pressed his body unconsciously against my skin. The heat that radiated off him made my body react in a way I didn't expect.
His hand lingered on my chest area before his gaze met mine, "Are you comfortable?" He asked softly.
"What...no...i mean yes. Yes I'm comfortable." I lost my composure and stuttered.
An amused look spread across his features, he smiled lightly before he climbed back onto the bike. I waited until he started the bike before he helped me onto the bike.
The ride to school lasted only a few minutes. Or maybe it was just in my head. Maybe the way I wrapped my hands around Adrian’s waist felt so magical, I didn't want the ride to end.
"We're here." He announced.
"Oh." I said as my shoulders dropped before I got down. I quickly took off the helmet and placed it gently on the bike before walking off.
I had expected that he would call me back but he never did. I heaved a sigh of relief and headed straight for my locker without turning to stare at anyone's face.
I could tell they were already staring at me, but I was determined to pay them no heed. I had reassured myself before I stepped out of my room today that I was get through school for the rest of the week no matter the stares i got.
I found some boys standing just close to my locker when I arrived.
"Hey, can you excuse me, I need to get to my locker." I said politely.
"Hey, I'm talking to you." I said louder this time when they ignored me.
The three of them turned around, each of them shooting a deadly look at me. The minute their eyes met mine, the expression on their faces shifted from irritation to amusement.
"Well, look what we have here." The boy in the middle said.
I painfully recognised him instantly. He was the same student that had been taunting me to sleep with me for money.
My heart sank into my stomach but I kept my chin high and refused to let my confidence falter.
"See who looks like the perfect meal today." He said, smacking his lips, his eyes tracing my body until they landed on my breasts.
I stylishly shielded my chest with my bag and tried walking past them.
"Hey we aren't done with you yet." The second guy let out and pulled me back roughly.
"Where are you in a hurry to, gorgeous?" The first guy asked.
I clenched my teeth in anger. This wasn’t how I had reckoned I would start my day.
"So have you considered my offer yet?" The first guy continued, rubbing his hands maniacally together while still smacking his lips.
"Look, I don't have the time for any of this, I have a class in a few minutes and I need to get to my locker!" My hands were beginning to tremble, but I hid it so they wouldn't see.
They all smirked at me before they gave way for me to pass.
"In that case, we have a surprise waiting for you." The first student said.
With my heart already in my hand, I walked past them to my locker and unlocked it only for my heart to shatter into utter pieces.
All over the inside of my locker was plastered with pictures that looked like screenshots from the video of Ryan lying that he slept with me.
I turned instantly, "Who did this?" I screamed at the students standing in the hallway. They all suddenly erupted into a mocking laughter.
Tears were already streaking down my face as I tore the pictures off my locker and threw them onto the floor.
"Aw, what's wrong, baby. Don't you like the present i got you?" A student behind me said. I refused to look and continued tearing the pictures down until I suffered a cut on my finger.
