The world I live in is filled with monsters. Werewolves, vampires, witches and more. Ever since I can remember, I have had some sort of weapon in my hands. A sword, knives, guns... all to learn to kill the supernatural. But little did I know, my entire life, was a lie...

Summoned
Maxine      “Who are you?”    “I am no one.”    “What is your purpose in life?”    “To kill all supernatural creatures.”    “What happens if you are caught by their kind?”    “...I stay silent until they kill me.”         My name is Maxine Knight and I am a Hunter of the supernatural. My purpose in life is to kill all supernatural creatures on this Earth. I have been a Hunter since the day I could pick up a sword. My parents were the Rulers of our kingdom of Hunters called Raine. All together, we had a population of over 20,000 warriors and citizens. I was the youngest Head Warrior in my Kingdom as I was only 17 with my birthday coming up in 2 days. I had more strength and skill with any weapon that I was given than many of the men I trained. I was nicknamed “The Warrior Princess” for that reason.    “Princess Maxine!”  I looked over and saw one of the knights make his way over to me. Great, what does he want? The only time I am called my full title is when I am being summoned by my parents.    “Yes?”  I glanced at the Knight who slightly bowed. He was wearing our family crest of two swords crossing with red in the background on his dark grey armor.  He was in his 30’s with a strong build and had dirty blonde hair, a heavy beard and stood as tall as 6ft. He was one of my mother’s guards which meant only one thing. "Your highness, your mother the Queen summons you to the dining hall at once. She said it was urgent.” He answered with his deep voice. Called it. I sigh heavily while aiming at my vampire practice dummy.    “Jeff, we both know that everything to her is urgent. Can you inform my mother that I am training and will be up to the castle when I am done?” I said with a bit of annoyance while I shot another arrow into my training targets chest. My mother had a high tendency to be a bit of a Drama Queen. Pun intended.  “I’m sorry your highness, even the King has requested your presence.” He said with a bit of urgency. “I guess I have no choice then.” I said with a huff. “Please inform my parents that I will be on my way.” “I will Princess.” Jeff replied while bowing once more and turning his heel to walk back to the castle.   I watched him as he left and sighed heavily. I looked around at my surroundings with pride and watched other warriors trained and sparred. Some of my warriors were training on the vampire dummies while others were training on the werewolves. A majority warriors outside were using swords while the others were shooting arrows. On the other side of the training field I hear the faint sounds of guns coming from the shooting range. These men and woman are the key to finally take out the supernatural world for good.  I feel a smug grin starting to appear on my face and my heartrate slowly start to climb with anticipation. Now, to go see what my parents want. I turn on my heel and walk to the castle.  I glance up at the castle while walking to the front entrance. Our castle was in the middle of the kingdom with the army training grounds to the north and east and the city in the south and west. We had high walls surrounding the castle as a last resort just in case if Raine was ever overthrown. The kingdom was also surrounded by one heavily fortified thick electric metal wall that was laced with silver, wolfsbane and magical symbols to keep out magical thriving creatures.  We tried to ensure that our citizens were safe. We had both old technologies and new modern ones. Along the wall were Hunters that kept our border safe from breach.  But besides the security measures that we took, the castle was also quite beautiful. It was a tall and wide with a light gray stones with red tops. Bright green vines covered the cobblestone. It was borderline magical. But human.  I nodded to the two knights standing guard. Both of them slightly bowed to me in respect and opened the two huge red double doors. I stepped inside and glanced around again. The insides of the castle were elegant but not over the top. The carpet was red with gold trim at the ends and the walls were a deep mahogany brown wood. We had beautiful chandeliers that hung every 20 feet that balanced well with the natural lighting from outside. I opened the doors to the dining hall and saw both of my parents at the end of the table. Both of my parents had a cold stare when they looked at me and I could never figure out what I did to deserve it. When they looked at my older sister, Ava, it was a look of pride and love. I did not look like any one of them. I had long straight raven black hair and green eyes. All 3 of them had blue eyes and brown wavy hair. I had a skin tone that was tan like I was sun kissed and they were milky white.  The only thing we all shared was our athletic bodies. Mothers was from her diet as she never stepped on the training field. Fathers was from training since he was our General if we ever were to go into battle. Ava had the same body type as me. Long legs, curvy body and strong arms. But I kept my body in shape for training. She kept hers for looks. I confronted my parents about my observation when I was 7. They told me that I took after distant family members in another city but I was never able to find pictures but I dropped the subject.  Even though I was forced into being a Hunter by my parents. I still ensured that I would be the best at what I did. I made sure that I was ruthless, deadly and strong. I trained everyday and for hours on end. I passed other top Warriors and sat right behind the General, my father, when it came to rank and skill. I was the best at training warriors and could handle any weapon. Guns, katanas, dual swords, crossbows, you name it. But all they cared about was making sure that I took my daily medicine of a wolfsbane filled tablet to protect me from werewolf venom since we dealt with them over any other species and never forgot my mission in life. To kill. Because I was the second in line I would never take the thrown so why worry about royal political life?  "Mother, Father," I stood before them with my arms to my sides and tried to radiate as much confidence and power as I could muster. Even though they are my parents, I still felt slightly intimated whenever I was called formally. I glanced at them both and took a deep breath and spoke without emotion, "you requested my presence?"  "Yes," my mother said with a harsh tone, matching my own, "we have a mission for you."
