Ophelia settled the children into their new location, another parking lot. Abandoned buildings weren’t an option. They never stayed that way for long. Space was too limited on the domes for that. A new company would come along and buy the empty building and either repurpose it or flatten it for new construction. The only place the homeless could live was the lower levels of high rises that housed the poor.
The basement parking levels of high-rise apartments were built for personal hover vehicles, but only the upper middle class could afford that luxury. And most didn’t waste the money with such efficient and clean public transportation.
