Serenye's POV Lya's words hit me like a sledgehammer hammer—gut-wenching and heart ripping. Caius Wolfe is the Alpha son?! The same man I had come to seduce and destroy?! Holy. Freaking. s**t. Of course, Lya had told me about her brother. The playboy prince said that she-wolves wouldn't stop drooling over no matter how cold he was towards them. Caius stood in front of us and damn.. His scent of musk and cedar filled my nostrils—delicious and tempting. It made Nyx so giddy that I had to bite down on my lips to suppress the moans threatening to slip past my lips. I lowered my head, still trying so hard to suppress Nyx from shifting or jumping on our mate. But I could still fix his gaze on me. “Caius,” Lya said, her voice smooth like silk. “That was a nice game. You did well as always.“ No response. Lya continued anyway. “This is Renye. My best friend. The one I always tell you about.“ She grabbed my arms and I forced myself to glance up now. “Renye… Caius.“ Silence again; just the both of us staring at each other, and it felt like the rest of the world blacked out. His eyes seized me up—and then rested on my breasts, causing invisible goosebumps to appear on my skin and my n*****s pressed hard against my bra. I glanced down at myself and saw a button undid. I quickly put it back. He scoffed bitterly and parted his lips to speak, but before he could, Aria appeared by his side, her hands were all over him. “Hey, my prince,” she purred, her voice low and seductive. “You did really well on the ice. How about we celebrate in your apartment later?“ “Get lost, Aria,” Caius spat, like she was a distraction—without even sparing her a glance. I don't think they are together though. He wouldn't have spoken to his girlfriend in such a rash manner. She was probably one of the she-wolves who threw herself at him. Aria frowned, eyed me down and stepped back, disappointment clouding her features. I heard snickers from the ladies behind me. Even Lya choked a laughter. Then his gaze changed into something I couldn't really place a hand on. Disgust? Disdain? “What is your full name?“ He finally asked, his voice was a deep rumble, stroking the places I never knew existed in my body. “Serenye…” I muttered. “Serenye Hale.“ I told him the name I was given by the Rogue king when he found me after my pack was burned down. “Good. Serenye Hale… I'm going to reject you.“ “What?!“ Lyanna spat, her voice thick with disbelief. “She is your mate?" And you want to reject her? Tell me… you're kidding, right?“ Caius turned towards his sister. “Kidding?“ He repeated, as if the word left a bitter taste on his lips. “Why would I do that? I don't want a mate—especially someone like her,“ His voice was dripping with disgust as the mere sight of me made his skin crawl. Lya stepped closer to him. “Renye would be different, Caius,” she whispered. “You can't let the past destroy you. She is your mate—your future Luna. You should love and cherish her.“ Caius threw his head to the side, his jaw set. The past? Did something happen? 'Tell him not to reject us, my Princess,' Nyx lamented bitterly. 'I don't want to be surpressed again.' Oh… now, I get. The mate bond must have broken the suppression ritual? Then it's best if he rejected us then. I need Nyx to be surpressed—at least for now. I glanced up at him and smiled. “Fine…. Reject me then. I don't want to be mated to an arrogant asshole like you too.“ Lya's hands tightened around me. “No… no. Don't, Serenye.“ “What?“ He snapped—obviously shocked to see a she-wolf who is not head over heels for him. “Watch your mouth, Omega! I'm your future Alpha and I deserve maximum respect—” My patience was wearing thin and Nyx was clawing its way to the surface, so I cut him off sharply, “I, Serenye Hale of the BlueMoon Pack (it was a lie though, because I couldn't say my real pack or the fact that I grew up in the Rogue kingdom) reject you, Caius Wolfe as my mate and Alpha.“ Caius let out a bitter laugh. “You dare reject me?!“ “Accept…” I roared. “… my rejection.“ Silence… then he looked humiliated and defeated. “Alright… I, Caius Wolfe, accept your rejection. You'll definitely regret this.“ The bond between us snapped off and the rejection pain hit me. Nyx growled in pain, then went hollow like I wanted. My legs buckled, and I stumbled backward but Lya caught me before I reached the ground. I clenched my painful chest tightly, and watched as he stormed out of the rink. “I'm sorry, Renye,” Lya muttered, patting my back. “He doesn't deserve you. At all.“ My head throbbed. My body grew weak. And slowly… darkness consumed me. _____ Slowly… my eyes fluttered open to the familiar confines of my room. At first, I was disoriented but then when I blinked… everything crashed down on me. The rejection still stung, but I pushed it off my mind, forcing myself not to dwell on it. A gentle knock came on the door. “Come in,” I called out, and pushed myself up. The door creaked open and a personal maid—Eva—that Lyanna had assigned to me, stepped in and bowed. “My Lady, dinner is ready.“ I nodded. “Thank you, Evra.“ Her face litted up with a smile and she stepped out. Yeah.. I'm f*****g hungry. I quickly jumped out of the bed, retrieved a sundress from the closet, threw it on and made my way downstairs. The moment I reached the foot of the stairs, my body reacted lustfully, sexually and erotically. My breasts were so full and heavy that I could've sworn that it contained milk. My peaks were swollen that it ached for a thumb pressing down on it or a tongue latching on it. My p***y? Fucking hell. It clenched around nothing—desperate for something to be stuck inside it. Dripping shamelessly through the flimsy crotch of the G-string and staining my inner thighs. I pressed my thighs together in a futile and desperate attempt to stop the tingling there, but I couldn't. Fuck… My legs almost buckled, but I quickly gripped the rail for support. My brows furrowed in shock. What the hell is wrong with me? It's not the full moon yet, so why am I in heat? “Hey… Renye.“ Lya beckoned at me from where she sat on the dining room. “Come here.“ I breathed in and out.. Trying to steady myself and control the desires inside me but all to no avail. With shaky legs, I forced myself forward. As I got closer, I noticed a figure standing by the mini bar in the corner in the hall. Then he turned, and the world held its breath. I froze midway. It was an aged man—probably in his early fourties. Cold, familiar green eyes. Tall and muscular with invincible veins and dangerous tattoos all over his exposed upper abs and arms. Silver streaked black hair. He was terrifying—and devastatingly beautiful. His powerful and intimidating aura knocked the air off myself throat. He swirled the glass of wine in his hand and his lips curled into a wide, devilish smirk—one that felt like he knew everything—the mess I'm involuntarily making down there at the sight of him. Before I knew what was happening, Lya was by my side, and she dragged me forward. “Dad,” she giggled. “Meet Serenye.“
