CHAPTER 11

When we got on the lobby, we saw Astrid waiting for me. He smiled and waved at me.
“Is he your husband?”
“Yes.”
“Lucky lady. He’s so handsome.”
I just smiled at them.
“Let’s eat dinner.”
“Yeah, ahm, Astrid, meet my roommates, Cassandra Chan and Louise Sevilla.”
“Hi, nice meeting you. I am Astrid Hower, Kholleen’s husband. Please take care of my wife.”
“Aww, so sweet. Nice meeting you too.”
Astrid holds my hand that causes the two to shriek out. I just smiled at them. We just walk for five minutes before we arrived at the cafeteria. Once we step inside the place, lots of eyes looks at us particularly to me and Astrid.
“We’re gonna get some food for us.”
“Ah, no, I will get some food for us.”
Astrid volunteered himself.
“Your husband is really cool.”
“And gentleman.”
I just smiled. They are really into Astrid.
“That is the rare case.”
“Yeah, why would they accept transferees in this month? October is about to end. They are really late.”
“Ssshh, don’t say anything more. They can hear us. We don’t know what their ability is or from what blood line they came from.”
“Yeah, we better shut up.”
“But they transfer in a difficult time. I am afraid they would never overcome.”
“Say no more. We better not meddle with others business.”
I am looking at them. They seem to not notice that I am looking at them. When they stop talking I look at the two ladies in my front. They are obviously looking at me while I am looking at those students and immediately look on the other side when I turn my gaze to them.
“What are they talking about?”
I ask.
“What are they talking about?”
“Did you hear anything?”
I intently look at them. They startled and bowed their heads.
“Tell me anything, I know it is unusual to accept transferees in this time of the year, but it seems to me that they are also other reasons.”
They looked at each other like they are talking if they will tell me or not.
“Let us explain to you.”
“I am waiting.”
“You know, there are some occasions here in SE every year on the month of November.”
“What is it?”
“Hmm, miss Hower.”
We all looked at the guy standing beside our table.
“President Raide, Good evening.”
Cassandra and Louise greeted. The guy is just looking at me coldly.
“Do you have business with me, president?”
He is just looking at me and it really feels scary. But I don’t have to fear anything. I died once and I fear nothing now.
“Ehem, good evening president. Why are you here looking at my wife?”
We all looked at Astrid. Now, they are looking at each other. There’s something in their eyes that I can’t read.
“Nothing.”
President Raide said then walked out. What’s with him?
“What did he say?”
I looked at Astrid. He is now sitting beside me.
“Nothing, he said nothing.”
He smiled after hearing my words.
“Good to know. I thought he is bothering you. Oh, here are your foods.”
“Wow, lots of foods. Thank you Astrid.”
“Thanks for the treat.”
“You’re welcome. Eat a lot.”
“Thank you.”
They are now eating their dinner.
“Here, eat a lot of veggies. You look pale.”
“Thank you Astrid.”
He just smiled at me. We just eat our dinner for half an hour and walk again to go back to our dormitory.
“Starting from now, you don’t need to be cautious every day. You can openly walk here and use your ability if needed. No one will judge you here.”
“Yeah, we can finally live here without thinking about the criticism from others.”
“Live like a normal human here Kholleen.”
I looked at him and he is also looking at me, smiling.
“I will.”
Although I really feel something is strange about us being admitted here, I didn’t tell him. He is really thinking that this school is fitted for us. I also don’t have evidences about this strange feeling of mine. So I better not say anything.
“Here we are. Go inside, I will leave after you.”
“Aww, such a gentle and sweet man.”
“Kholleen is such a lucky girl!”
Astrid just laughed at them. I smiled.
“We’re going inside. Take care.”
Astrid went near me and kisses my forehead.
“Have a good night. See you tomorrow.”
“Yeah, see you tomorrow.”
I waved good bye and walk beside Cassandra and Louise. We went inside our room to rest. We have separated bedrooms so I am now alone in my room.
I went near the window and saw the moon brightly shining. Then, I remembered those memories. My memories with my family, before everything becomes a mess.
That night when I thought that I will die if it isn’t Astrid who saved me.
I am just staring at the bright moon. I have so many questions in my head. Right before that incident happened.
‘How does it happen? Who the culprit was? Is the culprit especially targeting me? Why? Who are they? Astrid’s whereabouts and what about are also strange for me. Even though he already explained his reason to me, I have this feeling that I should not fully trust him.’
“Aaarrgh! I want to know everything!”
I miss my family. I want to see them but Astrid forbid me. I want to know how they are, if they are doing well without me.
“I will do everything to know who the mastermind behind that incident. I will give justice to what has happened to me and my family.”
This school is also bothering the hell out of me. I am really warry about the atmosphere it is emitting and also I am feeling strange about the head master of this school, the man that led us here, the SSG president and the other strange students. I also forgot to ask Cassandra and Louise about the occasion every November.
I can feel that our stay here in this school will be not as simple as what we are expecting.
