Jarred opens the door to the cabin and has a giant smile on his face.
James, Janie, this cabin is your new living arrangement.
You can come and go from the cabin as long as you have an escort with you at all times.
You are still expected to sit down with us and tell us everything that has occurred. But due to certain circumstances, you will be living here instead of the dungeon.
But if you choose to break any of these rules, you will find yourself back in the dungeon.
Do you accept? Yes, Alpha, they both say smiling and holding hands.
James pulls Janie into the cabin to look around the cabin.
The kids and Janie’s parents follow behind them all except Izzy.
I look down at Izzy, my love is everything, okay? Thank you for giving us time with our parents.
You never need to thank me. Also, for our grandparents, they will forever be grateful.
You know you didn’t have to do this.
I know, but it was the right thing to do.
I smile down at Izzy. Now go spend some time with your family; we can talk later.
Thomas slaps me on the back; you did a good thing, Alpha. My family appreciates everything you’ve done for them.
I am forever in your debt. No, you’re not, Thomas; we’re family.
He smiles then walks into the cabin, closing the door behind him.
The rest of us all make our way back to the pack house. How does dinner sound? It sounds fantastic. We all enter the dining room, grab a plate, and get our food.
Stella, can you please have food sent over to the cabin for the Hart family?
Yes, right away, Alpha. Thank you. Sitting down with my plate to eat.
Izzy’s POV
I watch as my family laughs and cries as my mother and father explain what had actually happened.
Mother, father, right now I think it’s better that we just get to know each other. The rest can wait till later.
I was surprised everyone else agreed. I was sure they were all going to get upset.
I watched as my father told stories of him growing up. His face expressions were just like my brothers.
As for my mom, I felt sorry and I could not fake my feelings when it came to her. Even though I understood it was not totally her fault. Or maybe it wasn’t her fault at all.
I just didn’t know, seeing my grandparents happy with my mom, maybe someday there might be hope for us.
Even though Shay did not fully agree with me, she understood my reasoning.
My brothers tried with my mom, but I don’t think they trusted her. She wasn’t as bad to them as she was to me. I hope they can forgive her at some point.
My father, he did nothing wrong, but I still can’t push myself to get close to him. After what Pete did. I just don’t trust him.
You do know he’s not the one who hurt you, says Shay. I sigh, yes, but I still can’t bring myself to trust him either.
I trusted Taylor, and look what he did! Izzy Taylor was in a tough position; your mate, if he would have told you everything before we came, you would have never come.
Izzy thought about it for a few minutes. You’re probably right, Izzy sighs.
My uncle comes over and sits beside me. Izzy, he says softly. I look at my uncle with tears in my eyes.
Precious, you do know there’s no right or wrong answer on how you feel right now. I bet this is a bit overwhelming, considering all the circumstances that brought us all here.
You don’t have to talk to them, you don’t even have to acknowledge them. No one would blame you, especially after what we all saw today.
To be honest, I am surprised that your mate did this. I smile, me too, uncle. I’m glad he did though.
Me too, precious. You don’t have to decide today about your parents. Do it when you’re ready.
Thank you, uncle, I say smiling at him.
I’m not sure what the future holds for all of us, but one thing is for sure, we are family, and it might take time.
Izzy says, “ Liam, I look at my brother. He sets down beside me, taking my hand in his. ‘Don’t worry, little sister. I got you.’”
Take things at your own pace. When you’re ready to talk to them, they will be here. I agree, says Devin, setting next to me. Zack just grins. “Yeah, what they said.” I could only laugh at his antics.
My mother and father looked at me. As much as I wanted to say it was okay, but honestly, it wasn’t.
Okay, everyone, stop worrying about me. A few minutes later, there was a knock at the door. Three omegas stood there with a bunch of food for everyone.
I opened the door and let them in.
Alpha Taylor sent food for all of you. I will have to thank him later.
I know a lot of different ways we can thank him, says Shay, as my face turns bright red.
Is that all you ever think of ? Well, now that you asked, okay, stop there, Shay. I really don’t want to know! Shay chuckles.
The rest of the evening was peaceful. I may not trust them, but we will see.
We played board games, told stories. Well, they did. I just listened. I was happy that they didn’t try forcing anything.
My grandma told stories about her parents, of what she could remember. My uncle told stories about Daisy and Matt.
I haven’t met Matt yet. I have to say my uncle had his hands full with those two.
Daisy actually reminds me of Jarred with some of the things my uncle told us about her.
It was starting to get late, and I actually miss Taylor.
