“Why are you here, Leo?” I snapped. I wouldn’t usually speak to him like that, but I wasn’t alone here. I was surrounded by people from my village and even though they were keeping my captive, I wanted to believe that they wouldn’t let him throw me around as back home.
“To get the Winter Stone back. You didn’t think the village actually trusted you to make it, right?”
“I did though,” I bit back. I got helped by my friends, but that wasn’t the point. I did make it all the way to Coyote Country, I found the Stone, I got it back.
“Yes, but you wouldn’t have made it back before spring.” Leo’s eyes flashed angrily, his nostrils flaring. He knew he got me.
