Chapter 6: The New Transferee

-RYLIE DEVYN POV-
What a wonderful day! Yesterday, I never cleaned the music room because I was distributing food to all the street kids. I am thankful because somehow I can help them and I can see their beautiful smile. It feels so good when you help wholeheartedly.
So, I started cleaning the music room today.
"Where did you go yesterday?" someone asked me in a stiff tone of voice. So, I turned around and caught Ryker sitting near the piano. It’s a miracle because he’s punctual now.
"Why did you ask?" I answered coldly.
"Because we have a deal!" he said fiercely.
"Yeah! You're right! We have a deal but you're always late. Isn't it, funny?" I asked him and then I faked a smile.
"I'm a busy man Devyn, you must understand!" he explained.
"Busy with your girlfriend?" I asked him angrily.
"Are you jealous?" he asked me and laughed. That's why I'm blushing.
"Sorry, but your presence won't affect me anymore!" I answered and glared at him.
"Really?" he said and smiled at me as if he wanted to say something and then he stared at me. Then he slowly walked closer to me.
"If you are no longer affected by my presence then you can look directly into my eyes without blushing," Then he started touching my face and kissed my lips for about 1 second.
I couldn't move, the kiss was familiar. My whole system is not working. I need to reboot myself to work normally.
"How are you feeling, sweetie?" he smiled as if he had succeeded. Then, I slapped him.
"I hate you! You're rude! You have no respect!" Then, I cried. I cried because my heart betrayed me. Instead of pushing him away, I let him kiss me. Why was there a part of my heart that was happy when he was close to me?
"Don't deny it, Devyn! I know, you love me but you hid it! You're just torturing yourself!" he said coldly.
"So what? If I fall for you?" I confronted him and wiped away my tears. Then I rolled my eyes.
"In that case, I'm willing to catch you!" he replied seriously that my heart stopped beating. Is it true? Will he catch me?
"How can I trust a man like you who is a playboy and heartbreaker?" then I raised my eyebrow. I couldn't believe I asked him.
"You're right! Just keep cleaning," he answered sadly and walked away.
I couldn’t believe it, Ryker played with my feelings. Yes! He succeeded but I wouldn’t tell him that I loved him.
I'm done cleaning. And I looked at my wristwatch, it was 8 am. So, I decided to go to my room. While walking, I heard a group of girls talking.
"Do you know, who is the female transferee?" one girl asked in her group of friends.
"Yeah! I heard, she's Prince Ryker's girlfriend!" the other girl answered.
"Really? Wow, they're compatible, handsome, and beautiful! A perfect couple," the other girl replied.
"Did you know, that she is a daughter of our Director here?" the other girl informed her friends.
Then, I left them. I know, she was the girl with Ryker yesterday, who ruined our supposed lunch date.
Then, I entered our room with a heavy heart.
"Good morning, Devz!" Jeff greeted me.
"Good morning too, Jeff!" then I smiled. And I saw Ryker look at me angrily but I snob him.
A few moments later, our professor arrived.
"Good morning class, we have two transferees today. But sad to say, only Ms. Hazel Wren Sebastian is coming. So, please welcome, our beautiful and humble Ms. Hazel Sebastian!" our professor proudly presents the new transferee.
"Hi, guys! I'm Hazel Wren Sebastian. Nice to meet you all. Thank you!" her brief introduction.
"Ms. Hazel, you can sit next to Ryker, he's reserving that seat just for you," our professor told her cheerfully. Then, I looked at Ryker's face, he didn't seem to agree with what our professor said.
A few hours later, our class ended.
I decided to go to the park.
As I sat on the bench, all the sweet lovers were passing in front of me. I feel sorry for myself because until now, I still hold on to the past.
I eat alone in the restaurant and wander around.
At 9 pm, I was waiting for a taxi to pass but no one stopped me. So, I decided to take a walk, and the scene before is happening again now. Three men in black followed me again so I ran faster.
Until I collided with a man wearing a mask.
"R-R?" I am happy to say his name because my hero came to save me again.
"What?" he asked confusingly.
Then, he fought the three men, a few minutes later. The three men dropped and he called the police to arrest the bad guys.
"Thank you for saving my life again," and I hugged him very tightly.
"You're welcome!" he smiled.
"Can I make a request? Since you saved me three times, Can I see your face?" I was embarrassed to ask him.
"Sure! No problem," he said and removed his mask.
And I couldn’t believe it, he had the same eyes as Ryker. They have similar features, they are both handsome but of course, each of them has a uniqueness. But why am I disappointed that he is not Ryker, my savior?
"Wow, thanks! I can't believe it, you fought those bastards alone. Can I know your real name?" I asked him but I didn’t look into his eyes because I was embarrassed.
"Sure, I'm Baron Axel Grey and you are?" he asked me and offered his hand to shake.
"Rylie Devyn Scotley, nice meeting you," And now, my sad heart was beating so fast because finally, I had seen my savior and my first kiss.
"Nice meeting you too, Can I call you, Ryle?" he asked my permission.
“Sure, whatever you want to call me, It’s up to you,” I assured him.
"Okay! Where do you live? So I can take you home," he asked seriously. Did he ask me? Don’t tell me, he forgot what we did last time?
"You forgot my address? Okay! Just keep driving, I'll tell you later the exact direction!" I told him sadly. Maybe he had a lot of girls he saved so he forgot about me.
"I'm sorry," he replied sadly so I felt guilty for what I had done.
"No! You don't have to be sorry," I calmly answered him.
When we, arrived.
"Thank you, Axe for bringing me here safely," I honestly told him I was grateful.
"You're always welcome, Ryle. By the way, are you still studying?" he asked me and smiled. Why is he so handsome in my eyes? I like the way, he smiled at me.
"Yes! At RRJ University!" I answered proudly.
"Really? Then, I'll pick you up tomorrow at 7:30 am because I'm also studying there," he said bluntly.
"But ..." he cut it off then he answered.
"No, but! That is an order!" he commanded me. Then he laughed.
"Okay! Yes, sir!" then I saluted him and laughed.
"You're so naughty Ryle, I like you!" he said directly.
"Really? Thank you!" then I hugged him.
A few minutes later, he said goodbye. Then, I entered our gate and locked it.
"Funny! You hugged that stranger, Devyn?" then I looked back, I saw Ryker sitting on our garden bench.
"Why are you here?" I asked him coldly.
"Don't bother! I'm going now!" then he left but I shouted at him.
"Don't disturb me again, Ryker! You already have Hazel Wren in your life and I have also met my savior and my first kiss. From now on, I will erase you from my life. I hope you will treat me as your classmate. Thank you for letting me know that I need to move forward. Goodbye, Ryke! I wish you genuine happiness," Then I turned around and wiped away my tears.
"Can I hug you one last time?" then he hugged my back.
"Ryke, please go," I pleaded with him.
"Devz, Wren is not my girlfriend," he confessed and he still hugged me.
"So what? You always date with her, you always treat her as a girlfriend, you think Wren only treats you as a friend?" I replied angrily to him.
"She's my childhood friend, I can't say no to her," his sad confession to me.
"Okay! So, let me go. We'll give others a chance to get into our lives, maybe we just met at the wrong time. Maybe, tomorrow I'll be lucky and end up in good hands," Then, I removed his hand from my waist without looking into his eyes.
"I know, Devz! I'm still the one in your heart!" then he grinned at me and left.
"I hate you, Ryker!" I shouted at him. But he just smiled and winked at me.
"See you tomorrow, sweetie!" then his car vanished. I don't know what to do, Ryker always drives my mind crazy!
No matter what I do! I still can’t forget Ryker! Just a smile from him, I feel like I will melt. I'm about to go crazy.
