Chapter 45. Keira’s POV. I let the phone ring for a while, not exactly because I didn’t want to speak with my father — I did have my grievances against him — but because I was still trying to figure out why he called from the blues. And of what significance was it that I’d just brought my grandfather back to his farm? “Hello?” I answered. “Keira.. thank God. I’ve been trying to get a hold of you for a while,” he lied. “You don’t say,” I quipped sarcastically. He must have felt ashamed on the other end because he went silent for a while and I almost assumed he had ended the call. “I’m sorry,” he apologized. “It’s just.. I don’t know how you’re gonna take this.. umm.. have you.. You see, I’m at the hospital and your grandfather’s room is empty. The nurses said he was discharged today
