Keira’s POV.
I felt the gentle touch of the early morning breeze caress my legs, drawing faint patterns that brought a wave of nostalgia to me. I smiled peacefully, my eyes still closed, until I remembered my location as well as a very important detail— I’d shut the windows before going to bed.
My eyes dated open in alarm and I found Jasper up and awake already, clicking away quietly at his laptop on the bed.
He didn’t lift his eyes from his work. He didn’t acknowledge my presence and I’d ha assumed he hadn’t seen me at all if the loveseat wasn’t directly in his line of vision. I was about to open my mouth to greet him when he first spoke.
