Mart’s POV.
I let out a sigh and assessed the mess around me. I looked at Amber’s whimpering form in the corner and walked up to her. I crouched down low so our eyes were nearly level.
“Let’s have this talk some other time, alright? Look at you.. Sweet thing. Come here,” I said and pulled her close to my chest. She didn’t put up a fight or resist my touch. I mopped up her tears with my fingers and looked into her eyes. I claimed her mouth in a kiss before rising to my feet.
I pulled out my billfold and picked out some notes. “Should cover the expenses,” I said as I dropped the money on the bed. “I’ll see you later, yeah?”
She nodded quietly, her eyes never leaving the floor.
“That’s a good girl,” I nodded and left the room.
