Scarlett's plea went to one ear and exited the other. Riley wants to hold Scarlett, tell her that everything will be fine and that she doesn't need to worry. But that doesn't mean that Riley herself is included in the word 'everything'. When Riley says everything, she'll be meaning everything that's solely only about Scarlett.
But Riley can't give out that promise. Her moves were lacking. Her head wasn't right. She wasn't physically okay still. It's been so long since she's had to battle dangerous people, actual dangerous people that doesn't care about what society thinks of them. Riley was in a pinch. She was impulsively making an action that requires physical deterioration.
