He grew up with a strict family, his dad always told them to act nice, and to not drag the family’s name in shame. He was afraid of his father, maybe the reason why he always study hard is because he doesn’t want to disappoint him. His siblings are all board topnotchers, they are smart and his  father always show how proud he is because of his siblings achievement, He grew up seeing that  and like them Rio wanted to be notice by his father that’s why he is doing his best on studying. But what he never expect is that he will turn into someone he never thought he will be. But he never questioned himself, being gay is not a sin, it is not also a mistake. He’s thankful because he learned about it immediately. He wasn’t in denial, the moment he searched about the feelings he has and when he knew that he is a gay, he embrace it. He wanted to tell his family but not now, not now that his dad’s companies are doing well. He doesn’t want to put his family in shame and he doesn’t want his dad to get mad at him. “Rio, you are spacing out.” When he heard Vera said that he looked at her, Timothy told them that he will just going to the comfort room that’s why he and Vera was left there. He sighed, he then turned his look on the stage, and the musicians are playing a very relaxing song right now. “I am sorry, I was just thinking about something. What time are we going home?” he asked. He even look into his wristwatch, it’s 7:30 pm, still early, but why does he wanted to go home now? Earlier he was excited to meet Timothy but right now he lose all the excitement and he just wanted to go home as soon as possible. “Are you crazy? We just arrived here, you are being moody again, Rio, come on, you haven’t talk to Timothy about his problem. Are you not feeling well? Am I bothering you so much?” Vera asked. He shook his head, he doesn’t know what question of Vera he should answer first. She has a lot of questions. But obviously, it wasn’t about Vera that he wanted to go home, it was because he’s thinking about himself again. “Or is it because you are afraid? Rio… we talked about this earlier, right?” He heard sadness from Vera’s voice. “Vera, I am not that strong as what you think I am. I… thought I can survive this night, but I think I can’t.” He said. Vera moved away a little and then she cupped his face with both of her hands. When he saw his cousin’s face, he can’t help but sighed again. Vera will scold her, he’s seeing it would happen. “We’ve been hiding your secret for 4 years, Rio, they didn’t notice anything from that 4 years, what I wanted to tell you always is just act normal, if you  are going to ask me about you? I would say that you don’t really look like gay, because of how you talk, how you move and how you dress, come on, baby, cheer up. Timothy will be back— “You are gay?” When Rio heard that voice it seems like the blood on his body was gone, he can’t move for a moment and when he turned his head to look at the owner of the voice he saw Timothy. “T-Timothy, you are back!” Vera said and she laughed but her laugh was obviously a fake one. Rio bow down his head, now he is really dead. What is he going to say to Timothy? What? He can’t even look at him right, what is he going to think of him? That he’s using what happened to him just get close? A lot of thing was no on his head, he heard Vera talk to Timothy and tried to change the topic and save him but what Timothy heard was so clear. He also doesn’t want to lie to him and if he will ask him about it, if it is true, he will say yes. “Timothy, I am just kidding you know, I always tell Rio that he’s being gay because he doesn’t like to talk t girls. I was saying earlier that why don’t he try to talk some girls here so that he could get a girlfriend, haha.” Vera said. When Vera pushed him a little, Rio didn’t talk or even raise his head. No matter what Vera would say, if Timothy will ask him, he will say the truth. “I am sorry for listening but I heard what you said Vera, there’s no need to lie, I understand that you wanted to cover your cousin but Rio…” Timothy called him. He didn’t look at him, his head was still down while his hands were playing on the end of his shirt. He doesn’t want to talk, he wanted to go home right now. “Rio, being gay is not bad. Raise your head and talk to me and listen to what I am going to say.” Timothy said. He sighed, he doesn’t want to but when he heard authority on Timothy’s voice he looked at him and he saw how serious he is. “No matter who you are or what you are never be sorry for being gay. Being gay is not a crime or a sin, it is not also wrong so don’t you ever feel like that. If you cannot come out right now, it is fine, your secret is safe with me, Rio. But I wanted to tell you that you are still amazing, you are still the helpful and kind classmate I met since the first day of semester,” “Even though I transferred from the other school I still received news about you that you didn’t change, that’s what our friends said. Your gender will not define you as a person. If you are now afraid that this might leak, your secret is safe Rio. I will not tell this to anyone.” Timothy said.
