Chapter 7

When Rio heard what Vera said he was about to speak but then his phone beeped. His cousin looked at him and then she looked at his cellphone that was on the table. When Rio saw the messenger and he saw Timothy’s name he immediately took his cellphone and open his message.

“Are you sure you are free later? I know that you don’t usually go out especially at night, Rio. Is it okay to disturb you? I just really want someone to talk to. I know that you could help me.”

That was Timothy’s message to him.

“I am going to try, Vera.” He said.

Rio knows that his family was just concerned for him because he prefers to stay at home than to enjoy outside. He knows his mom too, she’s been asking a lot about when he’s going to hang out with Vera or with his classmates at school. Because he doesn’t have close classmates at school, just Vera his bish cousin, he doesn’t know what to say to his mother.

His classmates considered him as their friend and he is also but he cannot be close to them like always talking or going out because he’s afraid they might know about his secrets.

“Yes please, that’s for you, Riodio, I am also concerned in your social life. Go out at least once a week. Your house is huge but there’s more thing outside.” Vera sighed.

Maybe this is now the time to change, for the better. Vera was right about pointing out what’s wrong in him. He’s so into keeping his secrets and he forgot that the people around him was thinking about why he’s been into locking himself inside his room.

“I know that the one who messaged you was Timothy, so what did he say?” Vera asked him, her eyebrows rose and she’s smiling widely.

This woman could really change her mood so fast. He’s amazed…and scared at the same time.

“He told me if I am sure that I am free later, he also said that he knows that I don’t usually go out especially at night. He’s just making sure that I am free and willing to go later.” He said.

Rio was the one who messaged  Timothy first but right now Timothy was asking him if he’s really sure maybe the reason is because he knows him, he knows him that he’s not really like that that’s why Timothy needs to make sure.

“See? Even Timothy knows that you are not really going out especially at night. Rio, a lot of people noticed you. Come on, people will not going to judge you and plus, you are not that soft when you move, you are still masculine and of course… handsome.” Vera sad and she winked at him.

He nodded slowly, “I am going to try now, Vera. I don’t want my mom to think about me also, she’s been asking me if I have some problems on school or if they are pressuring me to study. She’s thinking a lot of reason why I was being like this.”

He saw Vera shook her head slowly and then she took her cellphone. He saw his cousin typed on her phone and then she showed him the screen of her cellphone. It was a message from someone. A Girl to be exact.

“I forgot about this, Rio, but do you remember, Lianna? Member of the cheerleading squad, a hottie, a cutipie a very sexy and famous cheerleader in our school.” Vera said.

Rio’s eyebrows formed a line with what Vera said, does she really need to praise the woman like that? He knows Vera, she wouldn’t praise someone like that if she doesn’t like her.

“So tell me, what’s with the girl? You praised her too much. What is the reason?” he asked.

Vera rolled her eyes on her, she showed her again the screen of her cellphone and he looked at the screen.

“What?” he asked.

“Oh my goodness, can’t you just read the messages, Rio?! So lazy! I was pertaining to the message so that you will know why I was praising her.” Vera said and then again rolled her eyes on him.

Rio laughed suddenly, he couldn’t take Vera’s eyes when rolling on him. She was so annoyed right now.

“Sorry, so yeah… uhm… wait.” He said and then started to read what’s on the screen.

“I was really curious about Rio, can you tell me more about him, Vera?”

“I actually like him, he’s quiet and mysterious. He’s also handsome and smart, does he have a girlfriend?”

Rio almost choke on his own saliva because of what he red. That was Lianna’s messages to Vera.

“No, he doesn’t have a girlfriend, girl! My cousin is an NGSB man, No girlfriend since birth! If you like him just tell him, confess! You go girl! I am rooting for you!” Vera replied on Lianna’s message she then replied again “But be careful, because Rio is a heartbreaker, he already broke a lot of hearts.”

Rio looked at Vera with his sharp eyes when Vera lean back on her chair, she smiled at him and raised her right hand to form a ‘peace sign’

“What did you just do, Vera Gracia?” He asked in a dangerous tone.

Vera laughed and then she raised her hand and she’s like taking him a photo.

“Nothing, you know, I was just helping you, and maybe you are just confuse of yourself Rio. I never hear you scream in a very thin voice, I don’t see you wear makeups, there’s no men’s magazine in your room, you  are not looking maliciously on handsome men in our school, in fact you are talking to them like you are a real man,”

“You are so handsome and you dress like a man, your hair is in clean cut, oh my goodness, Rio, if I wasn’t your cousin I might fall for you too like what happened in the girls in our school.”

He just look away, to be honest Rio already thought about that. He thought that maybe what he felt back then with Timothy was just because he admire him for being kind and helpful, he wasn’t actually like that until he felt a strange feeling for the man, and he thought it was normal but then the feeling became strong until he knew what it is.

“I am gay, Vera.” He said shortly.

Vera squeal and clap her hands, “What the hell, Frederio! That was a bold move! Nice, I like it!”

Rio shook his head and sighed, Vera is really crazy.
