Chapter 2 (Freya POV)

"What do you mean he saved your life?" Her mother asked with a worried expression.
"I am fine now, but when I was exploring i got my leg trapped in a bear trap. Since i was to close to humans, i couldn't change back. Before the patrols showed up, he was there. He turned out to be my mate, so i told the Charlie and them not to approach, in case they scared him off. He helped me out of the trap and bandaged me, without knowing that I was already healing." She paused for a second before continuing, "when I saw the hunter, i was afraid. Not because I might have died, but because he could have died. When i saw the arrow fly towards me, him jumping in front of me, and the arrow piercing his body, i flew into a rage and killed the hunter," Freya confessed.
"What happened to the body of the hunter?" Alpha Damien asked after a few seconds.
"I had two of the patrols dispose of the body before it was discovered," Freya simply stated with a shrug.
After a long and eventful day, Freya decided to take a shower and eat some food since she was starving. As she made it to her room on the fourth floor, she removed her clothes and turned on the shower. After washing the blood and dirt from her body, she just relaxed under the steaming hot water that was relaxing her muscles. She glanced upon the light pink half moon scars upon her right calf, silently thanking the man who saved her life, her mate.
I need something to eat she thinks to herself, as she headed down towards the kitchen. Halfway there, she hears someone say her name. Turning around, she sees her best friend, Savanna Greene, her fathers Betas' daughter.
"Where are you headed?" Savanna asks.
"To get some food before i go back to the pack hospital," she replies.
"Is it because a certain someone is there?" Savanna asks with a smirk.
"So you've heard. Yeah, I met my mate earlier today and he ended up helping me. But he was injured in the process," Freya smiles sadly, worry evident upon her face.
"Do not worry, I am sure he will be fine. Now, let's get some food and see if he is out of surgery after we eat," Savanna requested.
"Okay, let's make something quick, I want to see him,"
When they had finished eating the pile of sandwiches they made, Savanna and Freya made their way down to the pack hospital. As the reached the corridor of white and plain rooms that had the familiar smell of antiseptic, they saw Dr. White and a couple nurses moving the unconscious human into a recovery room.
Freya and her best friend approached the doctor and quietly ask him if everything was okay.
"Everything is alright. The arrow entered just below his collarbone and exited his back, almost shattering his shoulder blade, and missing his lung by and inch. He will need to rest and recover for a while before he can move properly again," Dr. White replied. " Oh.. another thing, the arrow was made of silver and coated with wolfsbane."
Both women let out growls upon hearing this. "Does my father know yet?" Freya questioned the doctor.
"We just got out of surgery and i haven't been able to even mindlink him yet. Would you like me to inform the Alpha?" The doctor asked.
"Yes please, and thank you. Is it alright if i see him now?" she inquired.
"Yes it is, but i have to warn you, he is under heavy sedation and will be for a while still. I'll go and inform your father of my findings," Dr. White stated.
"Thank you."
As the doctor left towards the top floor, both women entered the private hospital room. What Freya saw nearly broke her heart. Andrew was hooked up to a couple of i.vs and several monitors. His face was pale and slightly sunken, making him look like he was near death. Even though he didn't look well at the moment, she couldn't help but notice and admire the strong and pronounced jaw line he possessed. His hair was slightly medium length light brown hair that had a messy look to it.
"He's cute," Savanna said with a smirk, making Freya growl lightly at her.
"I'm just kidding!!" Savanna said jokingly
Freya narrowed her eyes at her then smiled at her best friend. Both of them have been waiting for their mates for a ling time. Savanna managed to find hers not even a month ago and yet they were already mated and marked. Which kind of made Freya jealous because she will have to explain everything to Andrew and wait for him to accept her.
After the two best friends talked for a couple of hours, Savanna got up, saying that she will talk to her later, as it was getting late. They hugged and said good night and soon after, Savanna left.
Seeing as Freya did not want to be away and sleep in her own bed, she pulled the couch that was in the room as close as she could to his bed and grabbed a blanket and pillow from the closet. Giving Andrew a light kiss on his cheek, feeling the sparks and tingles, she thanked him again.Curling up on the couch, she watched him until she fell asleep, silently hoping that he would accept her.
