Episode 7: Rise to stardom

Mitchell turned to Mason, who is standing beside her and smiled at him. That was when Mason came to realise that, it is Mitchell, he stood with.

"What do you think sir, doesn't Miss Khloe look stunning over there?" Mitchell intentionally asked him to see his reaction.

Mason frowned and only nodded his head in response to what she just said. When Mitchell didn't get what she wanted yet, she probes further;

"Looking at her, made me remember when I first did my interview at Birmingham. I must say, she looks more beautiful than I was then! You can attest to it too sir, right?"

"Excuse me please," Mason become uncomfortable with what she was saying and had to walk away from her side.

Mitchell seems used to his cold shoulders and didn't put what he just did to heart. She turned, and continue staring at Khloe with a smile on her face.

Mason walked over to the Chief media engineer, and he could be seen, instructing him about something.

When I finished my interview, I stepped down from the podium and walked straight to Mitchell. As soon as I walked past Mason and the chief media engineer, Mason and I eyes met, and I looked away angrily.

I don't know what he might be thinking, but he looked away from me too. I never paid attention to how he acted when he saw me because I care less about him now.

As I got to where Mitchell is, I suddenly hug her tight without thinking about those around us. She was surprised by my action and drew me out of her arms.

"What's wrong?" Mitchell sounded so concerned, as she stares into my eyes and holds my hand.

'It's nothing, I just wanted to thank you for looking out for me then. I appreciate it!" I thanked her from the depth of my heart.

To me, someone like her is rare. Not only that she's beautiful, but also has a good heart.

"Common, it's nothing Khloe!" She said and smiles at me.

As we both still stands there and were talking, I noticed Mason was glancing at me from where he was.

I behaved as if I don't care, and continued chatting with Mitchell. But deep down in me, I was so happy that he was staring at me.

'Why is Mason glancing at Khloe from over there? Could it be because of her transformation after makeup or what? I'm sure that's what it is!' Mitchell thought inwardly as she maintains a smile on her face.

"Sorry, I have to go now!" I excused myself from her presence, as I went to change back into my outfit and leave.

By the time I got home, it was already 4 pm. Diana and Annabell were not at home, and I could tell that they'd gone to the club. I almost forgot today is our workday at the club.

I rested for a while after the busy day and got up sooner, to start preparing for work too. I finished preparing at exactly 6 pm and left home.

When I got to the club, I saw my friends have already changed into our costumes and were waiting for me to arrive. I quickly changed my outfit too and joined them.

We were walking towards the stage when someone just grasped my hand from behind. I turned around to see who it was, but it turned out to be Mason, who seems furious with the way he was staring at me.

"Let go of my hand!" I angrily said as I try to remove my hand from his. Diana wanted to say something, but immediately he glared at her, she kept quiet and keeps on looking at us.

He was so adamant, that he didn't let go of my hand. As I began to struggle with him, he drew me to one corner inside backstage. He begged everyone inside to leave and turned to me.

"Before doing anything insensible, think about the company's image first! If news about you being a dancer here gets out, how do you think it would affect the company?" Mason yelled at me angrily.

For the very first time, I saw how mad he is, towards me. I wanted to scream at him back, but when I opened my mouth to talk, nothing came out. I can't believe I could be at a loss of words, in his presence.

"If it's about money, the financial management would pay some money into your account first thing tomorrow morning. Just don't tarnish the company's image anymore!" Mason tells me and walked away with annoyance. After he left, Diana and Annabell rushed in to come and see me.

"Who does he think he is, that he has to shut me up just like that! Or is it because he's cute or what?" Diana said, with anger consuming her.

"Calm down Diana," Annabell said with a stern look and turned to look at me; "Hope he didn't hurt you at all?" She asked me.

"I'm okay! Can you girls dance without me tonight please?" I pleaded with them.

"Sure! You can go home and rest if you are not comfortable here." Diana said to me.

Without wasting much time, I changed back into my clothes and left. When I got home, I started reminiscing about Mason's angry face. I felt guilty when I remembered what he said also.

"He's right, me being a club dancer, won't go well with the company's image when words get out. So I need to quit now!" I continue rolling over on the bed before I later slept off...

*Next Morning*

I was still enjoying my sleep when Diana ran into the room and screamed out loud. I jumped up with fright, and Annabell ran inside too when she heard someone scream.

"What's going on?" Annabell asked with anxiety, as she enters.

"What happened to you, Diana?" I asked too while rubbing my eyes.

Diana just kept on screaming in excitement, as she raised her phone, for us to see what was inside. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw my pictures on the front page of the company's blog. And the news was on most of the entertainment blogs also.

"Is this you Khloe? I never knew you can be this beautiful! Look at how stunning you are!" Diana said to me jokingly, as she continues to jump up in excitement.

"I must say, she is indeed beautiful!" Annabell backed up what Diana just said, as she seems happy too.

With joy written all over me, I quickly collected the phone from her and scrolled down. I saw the interview I did yesterday, with lots of massive positive comments from people.

I was still laughing when reading the comments when my phone beeped with incoming messages. Diana was the one who took the phone and checked the message.

All of a sudden, she screamed at the top of her voice this time around; "You've just been credited with $500,000!!!"
