Chapter 5

'Beep beep'

'Beep beep'

"aargh" i turn over still half a sleep to see my alarm going off on my phone. I set it last night before i went back to sleep. I noticed i had more missed calls and texts. 'That's it Amber we are getting a new phone today. There is no way he is going to leave us alone is he?'

'Of course not. He's our mate after all. Maybe he realising he has f****d up and general wants us back. Plus he will be feeling the pull on the mate bond like us' Lovely good old mate bond. There was no escaping the pain i still felt after i left him behind. It's followed me all the way here i sighed at this.

'Don't make me laugh Amber, He never wanted us before why would be want us now' I had to laugh at the thought. The many times i thought he'd actually come begging to be with him. To not hate him for what he has done. Not a chance, i couldn't see him tracking me down and admitting he was wrong.  No, no he'd more likely come and find me and dragging my ass back. Torture me for days before even letting me back out.

'You never know Paige, running away maybe made him realise what he is losing and wanted us back' Seriously can't ever see this happening. This was Josh after all.

'I can't see that happening i'm sorry Amber. Don't get your hopes up' I don't want her getting her hopes up cause we know deep down he'd never want us that way. Amber and now gone quiet knowing i'm right with that i got myself up and went to grab one of my bags for some clothes to changed into.

I pulled down some jeans and a dark crop top. It was loose fitting, it had game of thrones written across it. I grab my make up and put a light cover on. Did my mascara and found my brush for my hair. I left my hair down as i feel prettier like this. I don't have to impress no one so no one would care how i looked anyways. I popped on my nike's then made my way down the stairs to grab brekkie.

"Morning Paige, Have a seat i'll bring some food out to you" My aunt called from the kitchen.

I could see my uncle and James with a few others sitting outside on the porch eating breakfast.

"Hey Paige good to see you again" A blonde girl threw her hand out in front of me to take.

"Hey Summer good to see you too" I actually remember someone's name from here and they weren't family. We exchanged smile and said we'd catch up later.

I watched a group training off to the side. I watched as they moved around each and the tackles they did. I was excited to get stuck into training as well but maybe later James to take me through some of their moves.

Aunt Sophie came out with a plate of scrambled egg and toast for me with a nice steaming cup of coffee. Just how i liked it, can't start your day with out one.

"Thank you" I took the plate from her placing it down in front of me. I grabbed some salt and sprinkled it over the eggs. Took a long sip of my coffee 'mmm' She always makes a good cup. 

'Ring, ring" I flipped my phone over to see 'he' was ringing me again. "f**k sake" I huffed out.

"Is that him?" James asked giving a side nod to my phone.

"Yeah, for the umpteenth time. Can you take me to a phone shop as well?" I turned my phone back over so i didn't have to see all those text messages. I had briefly skimmed them demanding i come home now or he was gonna come and drag me home. Then one calling me all the names under the sun. Not sure if he has realised by now that i'm not going to reply and will not obey him. I've done that enough times now, no more.

"Sure, do you wanna head now?"

" Yeah let's go" I grabbed my plate and cup taking them inside to the kitchen sink. Then met James out front.

I jumped in his car. He has a black range rover sport. Inside had leather seats, still smelt like a brand new too. I plugged in my seat belt and we were off. We flew down the long road. I guess he likes to drive fast. Didn't take us to long to get into town. Was about 10 minutes from the pack house. Before i could get my seat belt off he ran around and opened my door.

"Ah Th..thanks" So nice of him but he didn't have to I don't recall anyone ever doing this for me before. Such a nice gesture i thought to myself. 

"No problo, Phone shop is this way" He point of to the right. Loads of people staring as we past. I could tell most of them were wolves few humans mixed in as well. I brushed off the weird looks as im used to getting death threats from back home. Not sure if it's because they didn't know who i was or was it because i was with James who was a good looking guy. His hair was black short side and short of longer on the top. He was gelled into quiff look. He was big built. Muscle popping out and i get the impression he has a good 8 pack under his top. I tried not to eye him up. He was about my age, I was 21 now. I was in college up until last week were i told them i wasn't coming back and i was leaving. They were pretty surprised and asked if they could send my stuff to were i was moving too. I had to say i was dropping out all together ad wouldn't be transfering schools. 

"Hey James how old are you?" Curiosity got the better of me.

"I'm 25, why do you ask?"

"I knew you were around my age but i just couldn't remember the exact. Your a year older than my brother" I'll remember now smiling a little.

"I remember your brother. We used to hang out when he was up here. We stayed in touch as well" He looked down before carrying on " He actually told me you were coming back and asked me to have your back too if you needed anything.

Ah yes my lovely brother. I knew he'd not let me leave unless i had protection here. I smiled at this thought, although it seems everyone thinks i need looking out for. Maybe i do but i at least wanna try affend for myself too "Sounds like my brother aswell, I'll be ok but if i do need help i know to come to you"

He pulled me in to a hug arm hug before we enter the phone shop. I looked around until i found one i liked. An assistant took us to the side to pay for the phone in full. As i was trying to make sure i left no trace of were i am with personal details it was easier to pay it out in full. Thankfully my parents had left us money behind. So we never find ourselves struggling but i preferred to make my own money as save the money left for something more special that i may need.

The assistant handed over the box with my new phone inside and we left. James took me into a few cafes to see if they were looking for staff and some shops. I managed to get a few interviews. mading me excited about staying here.

We stopped off for lunch in a small cafe facing out on to a lake. There was swans and ducks being fed some bread. There was some paddle boats and canoes.

"What would you like to eat i'm buying"

"Really? erm I'd like the chicken salad" I said biting my bottom lip while eyeing up the burgers.

"Are you sure?. They cheeseburger sounds so tasty, sure you wouldn't prefer that?".

"I'm trying to shift this belly not gain more" I frowned at him.

"I can help you with that but at least eat something more satisfying" I sighed and nodded "Ok".

If he is going to help me i'm not going to complain. I'd hold him to it though. Soon our food arrived. 'Mmm cheeseburger and fries some diet coke too'  Drooling over the food in front of me. He was right this tastes amazing. while we were sitting here i set up my new phone. Sent my brother and Lucy a quick text. Told them to store it under another name which they both agreed while asking how my first day was going. I told them both i'm doing ok and was looking for a job.  Neither of them replied back so i figured Josh must be around or they were busy with something else. Lucy was still in college too. 

When i looked at my old phone i had another few texts from Josh. They brought tears to my eyes. He is a prick. I knew he was looking for me desperately more like his wolf was pissed with him. I bet he was mega pissed that he couldn't find me either. So he took it all out of me for running away rather than himself. 

I texted that mother fucker back " Hi who is this?" i'm going to wind him up a bit before i throw the phone away.
