Chapter 17

It took us about 10 minutes to walk to the cars that were parked on a dirt road north of were i had been kept in a cell. Ben who had been carrying Masies opened the back door up and slipped her in side. He got in next to her keeping her head up right. She looked so tired and could easy pass out. Josh opened the passenger door for me to jump in then he ran around to the other door. All clipping our seat belts in, Josh starts the car up but doesn't pull away. He turns around looks out the back window like silently talking to someone. When i turn to look i see my brother and the other fighters running out to the other cars jumping in. Then we speeded out of there.

As i gazed out the window i felt Josh squeeze my arm. I turned to hazeley look at him but his eyes on narrowed on the road head. So leaned on his shoulder instead. I was feeling so tired that i let me eyes close. darkness took over me and i welcomed it.

I felt Josh lifted me out the car, which makes me blink a few times and stretch my arms around his neck. I feel Josh smile as one of the guys pushes open the pack house door. As i glance around Ben and Maise aren't with us.

"I ask Ben to take her to the pack doctor to get her checked out" Josh ushers as we go inside.

"Oh will you inform Alpha John?"

"Already done. While you were sleeping Ben rang him. He will be over tomorrow" Would be nice to see him again.

"Great" I say smiling.

Josh takes us up the stairs. I look to him confused. "Your tired Paige and need some sleep" I didn't feel the tired anymore. Must have just needed a wee nap.

"I don't need sleep but i do need a bath" I try to wriggle out of his grasp to walk myself up the stairs. But he kept a good grip of me, so i frown. "Come on Josh i can walk" I wriggled a bit more. I remembered Josh had a tickly spot when we were kids. I found my hand wondering towards it as we were nearing the bedroom. I gave him a tickle, he dropped me to the floor. I got up a scampered into the bedroom laughing away.

I hate being carried around unless i'm mega tired and need help. But i prefer to do things myself. Josh chased after me but was too slow. I grab some clothes and a towel then went into the bathroom.

"Cheat" He calls out. I catch him walking into the bathroom. He started running hot water adding salts and bubble bath. Then he walked around lighting candles too. I wondered what the heck is he doing. This guy infront of me i'd never take him for a romantic but he was defiantly trying his best. The tub was full of hot bubbles candles where all lit so i took of this rag i had on. Wait where was the horrible rag i had. I looked at Josh and he smile with a shrug. He had popped his hoodie over me somehow as i was sleeping.

"Um thanks" I said taking it off and sniffing. I must look like a weirdo sniffing his top. I stuck it on the chair at the side reminding me to put it back on later.

"Here" He came over and gave me a hand to get into the bath. I was still a bit sore from being smacked in the head but nothing else hurt thankfully. Guess he thid was his way showing me he cared..

"How are you feeling?" He asks as i slip down into the hot steeping water 'ahh'.

"I'm ok, just need to...Ahhh... unwind...ahhh"I though of Maise as i relaxed "Poor Maise has been there for weeks god knows what she has been through" I looked over to Josh for answers on how she was.

"She will be ok, Ben linked me in" He say grabbing a scrunchie sponge from the side. He poured some body wash on it and asked me to sit forward. Then started to wash my back. I let out a moan and smile spread across my face. It felt nice and i enjoyed him washing me.

Once i was all clean. The horrid smell was off me and i smelt like roses again. I quickly washed my hair aswell. Getting out Josh wrapped a towel around me. I don't think i'll ever get used to this side of him. He's actually looking after me the way i've dreamt him doing for such a long time. I still have a hard time believing this is all real. I have to poke myself ever so often to make sure i'm awake.

Josh wont let me leave his side from the remainder of the night. So we head down stairs for some dinner. In the kitchen there are other members of the pack. I seen Ben, Ant, Caleb and a girl. I can't think of her name but she looks familiar. I say that as i think she goes to our school to and as i was never in the popular group i didn't think to get to know their names or if i had heard them i'd wonder who they where. I'm sure she was one of the quieter ones i shrug it off "Paige" I turn to see my best friend come through the door.

"Lucy" We both swing are arms around each other. After what's happened i need my best friend. Josh started cooking some food and Antony was helping while me and Lucy were about to go outside to sit down and chat.

"Paige where are you going"Josh raised a eyebrow just as we were about to exit.

"The table outside" I point towards the table. He nods letting me go but he doesn't look happy about it. "Give me a second" I say to Lucy. She heads outside as i run back to give Josh a quick kiss on the cheek. "I'll be right outside" I give him another kiss then head back to Lucy. He had relaxed a bit but still on guard.

Minutes later the guys join us outside bringing food with them. Antony place a plate in front of Lucy and himself. Josh places one in front of me and him. 'mmm' i took a bit of my sandwich. I hadn't ate much this morning in fact i don't think i ate anything.

"So we have party to throw coming up. We have 2 weeks to bring it all together before all the unmated wolves arrive" Josh spits out as me and Lucy look at him.

"Uh.. Are we to helping plan it?" Bit confused as i've heard of these events but never attend and I wasn't ready when i was younger due to the bullying going but last year i found out it was Josh that was my mate. I remember that day so well. It replays in my head when i feel really down. 

We were in our finally year of high school. Me and Josh were hardly ever around each other unless he felt the need to harass me, calling me anything under the sun, push me over or If him and Antony were hanging out at our house. I'd hide away from him. But that day i had just came out of English talking to Lucy about our homework and as i was looking at her i wasn't looking in front of me and i walked into something hard but before i left i felt those tingles everyone says you feel your world comes to a stop. When i looked up i seen him, Josh was giving me death glares back. He shouted at me "Watch where the f**k you are going" As i stood up he shoved me back down again harder that before if that was possible. After that he made sure to make my life a living hell. The look in his eyes i'll never forget it. Something hit my face as i shake the memory away. "You ok?" My brother asked looking at me with narrowed eyes. He sat forward as if to get a better look.

"Ah..i'm ok" Trying to remember what on earth we were talking about.

"You sure you like totally bugged out on us." Lucy sat looking at me weirdly too.

"I'm find" shaking my head "just a bad memory" I glance to Josh before looking to me feet fiddling with my fingers.

"What was it?" He asks but i can't tell him. That he still tortures my nightmares now and again. "It doesn't matter it's..It's in the past now. So this party" trying to change the subject but i see Josh and the other two giving each other looks of concern. I'm pretty sure Josh felt the pain i felt remembering that moment. Clearing my head i carry on "mm, So yeah you will be helping this year's event"

They drop arguing with me to start planning this party we're have coming up.
