-The next day-
Jane woke up and got off her bed, slipping on her leg warmers, she made her way to the washroom and stood in front of her sink and looked up at the mirror and stared at her reflection.
She breathed slow, taking deep breaths, her mind started filling with thoughts and she felt an unsettling feeling in the pit of her stomach.
She held onto the edge of the sink and clenched her eyes shut as she felt a striking headache, the day was only starting but she wished it was over already.
She shook her head, told herself to get it together and focused on her breathing before giving up on trying to freshen up and just walked out of the washroom and got back into her bed.
She knew she had to get dressed and leave her bed, she had to. She had a reason to go out, someone wanted to feel her presence around them.
Ken wanted her alive.
She felt around for her phone on her bed and brought it up in front of her face as her fingers faltered over the contacts of her phone, she needed to speak to someone. Her first though, naturally, was to call Bailey...but for the first time in years, she convinced herself to scroll down and call Ken instead.
Her heart pounded as she waited, listening to the call dialling...the ringing seemed to go on forever, Jane was at the verge of tears when Kenneth finally answered the call.
She didn’t realise that the ringing had stopped, it seemed to have been added to the background sounds in her head, it was one of the too many voices that made it hard for her to breathe.
“-Jane? Hey? Are you crying? Is everything okay” Ken said, loudly, his voice groggy but worried.
Jane finally snapped out and replied “K-Ken?” she called out
“Yes baby, it’s me, are you alright? Did you hurt yourself?” He asked, his voice gentle
Jane didn’t know what to say, she never had to sentence her experience before...but then she realised she didn’t have to, so she just let herself cry.
“I don’t feel good” she said simply, in between sobs
“Are you sick princess? Would you like for me to come over?” Ken asked her, Jane heard shuffling from the other side of the call and blinked as she brought her phone away from her ear and looked at the time.
‘6:12 am’
“s**t, I d-didn’t realise it was this early, I’m so sorry, I must’ve woken you up, I’m fine, I...uh get like that sometimes, I don’t know what I was thinking, calling you this early, I can be so stupid” Jane said quickly, with a small, nervous chuckle.
“No, Jane, it’s fine, I’m glad you called, I’m here for you” Ken said, soothingly
“W-We have college in sometime, get some sleep, I... Uhm I'll see you there, I’m sorry” Jane said, stuttering as she pushed out a little bye before disconnecting the call as tears rushed down her face again.

-At University-
“Jane! Oh lord, are you feeling better?” Ken asked out loud as he rushed through the university gates, to where Jane stood a few feet away
“Did you wait for long? I wanted to come pick you up but I woke up a little late and you weren’t answering you phone so I just rushed here instead” He explained, standing across from Jane and grabbing her hands and holding them tightly
“I had my phone in my bag while walking here, I didn’t hear it ring” Jane replied in a small voice as she tried to smile at him
“Hey, are you okay? You didn’t have to come if you weren’t feeling well” Ken complained as he pressed the back of his palm to Jane’s forehead and comparing it with his own.
“You don’t seem to have a fever, is something troubling yo-” Ken stopped as realising dawned at him “Oh, is it because of the interrogation and everything?” he asked, brushing her hair back from her face with his fingers gently.
Jane stopped trying to smile and said “It isn’t the most pleasant feeling, I guess I’m just overwhelmed”
Ken nodded “ That’s fair” he said softly and pulled Jane into his arms, embracing her
“It will be done soon, you didn’t do anything so you’ll be fine, there’s nothing to worry about” Ken whispered, reassuring her.
The rest of the day went by with Jane sulking around and Ken trying to cheer her up
-After classes-
“We don’t have to meet today for uni work if you aren’t feeling well” Ken stated wrapping his arm around Jane’s shoulder.
Jane nodded so he continued “Can we leave?” he asked her as they stood in front of the gate
“I guess so” Jane replied, not sounding too sure
Her doubts were cleared when she saw the cops walk in through the gates and walk past them.
Jane could never get used to their presence.

-At the office-
Jane, for the third time in a row, found herself walking down the corridor to the principal’s office and came into view of the same 5 faces, seated in the same 5 seats.
Jane looked down at the ground to avoid having to look at anyone, but when she felt Ken squeeze her hand, she turned to smile at him and felt better about being there.
She walked up and sat down on the place that had naturally been left vacant for her and Ken sat down next to her.
Jane looked across her at Ben and immediately felt Kenneth close in beside her pulling her close to his side, making both Ben and the receptionist snicker and frown as a blush made its way up Jane’s face.
As they sat and waited to be called and be done with it, they heard footsteps enter the corridor and though they wished it wasn’t who they thought it was.
Brie walked down the corridor and walked past them in her off white sweater dress that hugged her curves and made her stand out in the room
She spared a glance at Ken and Jane before entering the office after exchanging nods with the receptionist.
Once again, she left Jane insecure and Ken mad as she entered the office without looking back at their piercing stares.
