CHAPTER One PART 1. CHAPTER ONE. NEC is one the best college in Africa. It was built in 1923, one of the longest and influential school . The school is very high standard and as expected only those with high standard can attend the school- the rich. NEC wasn’t a school from the start, it was an empowerment program building for Youths, NEP, Nigeria Empowerment Program. In the late 1990’s, NEP changed to NEC. People praise the architecture who designed the school . The school is like an estate. With different attractive building inside. NEC is also historical-every building has a story of our ancestors. According to some people the gardens was planted by one of the slaves. According to them she took her last breath in the garden. Because of this specific things about NEC. It is one of the hardest school to enter. Only money can get you in the school- big money. Although middle class people attend the school as a result of scholarships program. The school is ruled by the rich. The sponsors one make determine who rule the school. And one of the biggest sponsor of NEC is Ava Eze. She was walking to the school with Obi and Precious. Hands in hands they were talking about their boring summer. Ava opened the door and all eyes were on her. They surrounded her like as if she was Lady Gaga. She was used to this. She is Ava Eze. The top one influential female in NEC. Everyone likes money- so everyone likes her. Well except the jealous ones. She stared at them smiling. She loved the crowd. And she appreciated them. One of the good thing about being rich is that people worship you. You are the president in the eyes of middle class people and you are a god in the eyes of the poor. Ava adored the power. To her , that’s the only thing about being rich. A girl came to her front, she was excited and very happy “ I’m Enny and I’m your biggest fan” she smiled widely “ I’m so happy to meet you” Enny was blushing. Gosh she acted like Ava was her crush. Ava smiled back “ I’m so glad to have a cute girl ike you as a fan” Obi stared at Precious “ can’t they see us?” Obi whispered to Precious getting annoyed. They do this all the time- act like he doesn’t exist. Precious sighed and whispered to Obi “ stop acting like you are not used to this” Ava stared at everyone “ thank you all for this wonderful welcome” she paused “ and because of this I have a surprise for you all… I will clear all the AMA school bills” Everyone cheered. The AMA are the Ava Member Association , it is the second biggest group in NEC after the KMA, the Kofi Member Association. The AMA and the KMA are like best friends or should I say matchmakers. Everyone want Kofi and Ava to be one, and by one I mean couples. “ why don’t you organize a party to” Kofi said from behind. Everyone stared at Kofi. And most people rushed towards him. He was the top one influential guy in the school. And the biggest sponsor of NEC. He is also very handsome. He is tall and physically adorable. His signature hairstyle is a dread lock. He wasn’t cute but he looked mature . people often say his look can kill a man. But to Ava he looks like a desperate , pathetic beggar with beards that needed to be shaved. Although most girl likes him with a beard,but Ava hated it. Not because she hated the beards but because she hated him. Anything that belonged to Kofi will never be liked by Ava- even beards. Ava stared at Kofi and she manage to form a smile. Obi frowned, he hated Kofi “ he really knows how to be the center of attention” Obi said Precious stared at Kofi dreamily “ you can’t blame him. He’s -he’s just so cute and sexy…soo sexy” Obi stared at precious feeling disgusted. Precious is one of the people that adored Kofi and worst of all, she is a member of the KMA. Obi hated that. Kofi walked closer to Ava “you look beautiful… like a goddess” Kofi said softly. Ava scoffed quietly. “thanks” she paused “ you look better than last time”Ava said slightly rude. Most people brought out their phone and started to record Ava and Kofi. They were celebrities. And everyone likes to watch them. Kofi scoffed “ I’m glad you like my dress. So are you free this weekend… cause I wanna take you out” he said and winked at Ava. Although Kofi is smart and rich, he is poor in one thing- being romantic. Ava kept quiet for a while “ sorry, I’m too busy.Maybe next time” Ava smiled and walked away. Giving people something to gossip about . Obi and Precious stared at each other. Obi smiling while Precious very confused. Kofi scoffed in anger and left. *** Ava went inside the female room. she stopped smiling. She touched her cheek “ gosh, pretending to smile is very painful” she said feeling disgusted “ now I have to waste my money on them. So annoying.” Ava isn’t the nice girl one sees. She isn’t nice or caring or polite. She’s just acting. She entered the main toilet. CHAPTER TWO. Joke, Aliyah and Hannah entered the female room. “ I hate the way people treat her like a queen. She is no different from us” Joke said angrily “ well she kinda is” Hannah said to Joke Joke stared at Hannah looking annoyed “How” Joke asked Hannah scoffed “ well, she is rich, nice, caring, popular, beautiful, sexy , photogenic, talented…” “ okay, I get it” Joke said frowning. Joke sighed “ but you guys really don’t know Ava” Aliyah moved closer to Joke getting flummoxed “ what do you mean?” Joke moved closer to Hannah and Aliyah, she smiled “Miriam…” she looked around “isn’t Ava real mum” Hannah and Aliyah gasp “ what do you mean?” Aliyah asked getting intrigued. “ Miriam is just Ava aunt. Ava mum is dead while her dad is in coma” Joke said quietly. Hannah and Aliyah were getting really confused “ but why will she lie?” Joke smile “ because her dad is a criminal” “ how do you know all of this?” Hannah asked Joke. “ I just know” Joke replied. Hannah and Aliyah kept quiet for a while then began to laugh. Surprising Joke. “ so because of your hated for Ava, you made this all up” Hannah said still laughing. “what?” Joke asked getting annoyed. “ your lies are obvious” Aliyah said to Joke then faced Hannah “ let’s just go” “yeah”Hannah said Hannah and Aliyah walked out of the female room. “ I’m not lying. It’s the f*****g truth” Joke shouted and left. Ava came out of the toilet, moved to the sink, open the tap and began to wash her hands “ Joke…” she closes the tap and looked at herself in the mirror “ you know too much” Ava said darkly. Way too darkly. ***. Miriam walked to the kitchen and made herself a coffee. She took a spoon and stirred her coffee with it, before she took a sip. She doesn’t make her coffee herself , she only does this when she’s angry- and she is. Ava entered and saw Miriam. She frowned. Miriam turned around and saw Ava. She was still holding her cup of coffee. Ava walked closer to Miriam. Miriam smiled darkly. She stared at Ava for a little while then she smashed the cup on the ground making it to break. Ava stared at Miriam looking baffled. Miriam slapped Ava angrily.Ava touched her cheek and looked at Miriam angrily “what the hell is wrong ?” Ava asked angrily. That annoyed Miriam making her to punch Ava continuously. Ava fell to the ground. She touched her mouth and she knew it was bleeding. “ why are you doing this?” Ava shouted. Miriam scoffed “ you bastard” she began to laugh “ you are too busy?” she paused “ really?” Miriam shouted “ do you know how annoying that was. He asked you out and you rejected him”Miriam said getting enrage Ava inhales and exhales loudly, she stared at Miriam “ so you did this because of him?” Ava asked feeling infuriated. Miriam bend down and touched Ava cheeks roughly “ you have grown soo much wings. It seems like Eze doesn’t mean a lot to you” Miriam said seriously. “ leave my father out of this” Ava said angrily. Miriam smiled darkly “ then do what I say” Miriam frowned “ you owe me your life… don’t let me take it” Miriam smiled and patted Ava’s face. She stood up “ clean this place up” she said harshly and left. Ava was furious “ I’m gonna get you… before you get me” Ava said darkly . she used her palm to clean the blood in her mouth “ you will pay.”
