Prom

Mar’s POV

I don’t know what’s been going on lately with my mind. Ever since Paris said she loved the old Mars, that’s all I have been thinking about. When I am with her all I feel is peacefulness. I want to know more about her, but I can’t. I have to hold myself because I am scared. Not because of the boss but because of me. How do I know how to treat someone fair or kind? I have never thought or known of anything like this before I met her.

And what am I feeling? Do I care for her? Is this love? Is this lust? I don’t know what this is. All I know is I want to find out more about this feeling. My gut hurts not being by her and all I want to do is protect her. I will never leave her alone. I will always be by her. 

Jack’s POV

What annoys me the most is that Paris won’t even go with me. And now she told almost everyone that we are not together. So I am irritated by Jenna and almost every girl in the school on who to go to prom with. If I go with Jenna things will be worse with Paris. If I don’t go with Jenna, every girl in the school will keep bugging me. 

It’s funny how much attention I get from everyone. It’s been so lonely the past few weeks. A little attention doesn’t hurt right? And my wolf has constantly been feeling so needy to the point we actually let Jenna hold us the other day. I’ve been trying so hard with Paris but she has distanced herself so much and that Mars guy always gets in the way. It infuriates me to the core. 

I have to hold my wolf back so we don’t kill him. Being without Paris has been making me doubt our relationship. She’s never not done anything wrong but I feel like she is not doing enough to save us. Why am I the only one working to make things better for us? Why is she not putting more effort into this? Why is it only me? Maybe I should stop? Is it really worth it? After telling her why things are happening the way they are you would think she would understand me. So why? 

Paris’s POV 

“Hey Danny we need to go to my uncle's house and take a picture for prom there. My uncle wants to see us before we leave. Is that okay?” I ask him on the phone

“Yeah that’s fine. I’ll get dressed at your place and then we can go to his house after.” he says back to me  

“Okay see you soon.” I say back to him 

“So you are going to prom with Danny?” Mars asks

“Yes I am. “I say back to him annoyed 

Lately Mars has been so antsy. I don’t know what is going on with him. We don’t talk about what happened the other day with Jack, but I do know he has something to ask me. I can just feel it. I start making dinner and Mars ends up helping. 

“I’m surprised you are helping me. Usually you just watch and wait to taste my food. What’s changed?” I ask

“I can’t try to learn how?” he asks 

“Well you can. I am just surprised, okay. You’ve been acting weird lately so it’s a change for me to see you being so nice.” I say back to him. 

“Whatever Paris. How about we make dinner together before you leave?” Mars asks

“Fine.” I say back to him 

“Paris you look so beautiful.” Uncle Stev says 

“Thank you Uncle.” I say back to him and kiss him

“This is for you Paris.” Danny says to me and puts on a beautiful corsage on my wrist

It’s so pretty. He has a matching boutonniere on his suit as well. We take pictures for about 30 more minutes while we wait for our limo to come get us. I say bye to my uncle and me and Danny leave in the limo as Bethany and her date go their separate way to prom. This limo is super fancy. How much does Danny’s parents make? I look around and see all of his theater friends in the limo as well. They are all super nice to me and make me feel comfortable. It feels good to be around positive people. I like them. 

“Paris, you and Danny look so good together.” Cidney says 

“Thank you. We picked everything out together to the T.” I smile back at her. 

“We are so excited for prom. It’s going to be at a castle. They say this castle is haunted by lovers who killed themselves in it. Like a Romeo and Juliet kind of thing.” Cidney says to me.

“Really? How cool.” I say to her 

They all look at me and smile. 

“Danny, she is so coming with us.” they all say in the limo 

“Coming where?” I ask    

“There are a few rooms in the castle where they say they are haunted, but we want to go to the master to see if the spirits are really there. Come with us to Paris?” they all ask 

I look at Danny and he nods. 

“Okay that’s fine I will check it out with you guys. It sounds like fun.” I say back to them as they all scream with excitement. 

Wow this place is huge and so beautiful. It has an elegant rustic vibe. The castle is decorated with lights everywhere and you can see all types of castle like stuff in here. It’s weird they even have guards here too. Like dressed up and everything. I feel like we are going to a V.I.P banquet or something. 

“He definitely influenced this.” I hear Danny say

“What did you say Danny?” I ask him 

“Nothing. It's just the original location was a garden and now it’s changed to a castle. How unusual don’t you think?” he asks me 

Come to think of it. We were supposed to be in a garden for prom. And for a castle this luxurious, I would never think the school would be able to afford something like this, plus the guards.
