Ding! Dong!

Soon I heard fast steps approaching, it was quite light compared to Blaze's so I figured it'd be either his mom or one of his many sisters.

"Who's there?" I heard a sweet yet mature feminine voice that served to confirm my premonitions.

Creak!

As soon as the door opened, my gaze fell upon Blaze's twin sister; Summer Laurier. She was a tall triangle-shape built 18-year-old brunette with light brown eyes that reminds one of the ochre shades of dusks in summer.

"Hey it's me, can I come in?" I asked with a warm smile. Though she and I hadn't been quite close in the past, we were still acquaintances of each other so I had no problem speaking with her.

"Hey Jax, I... I think I love you!"

...

JAX, I LOVE YOU!
I woke up brimming with excitement for the day, rushed into the bathroom, and quickly washed my face. I grabbed the toothbrush and rubbed it harshly on my teeth. Jax Quigley, a tall thin framed 19-year-old, with jet-black hair and brown eyes. Looking in the glass mirror, I do not think I'm much of a handsome lad or so, I could pass in the crowd. I switched on the tap, slurped some water to clean my mouth, and; "Haah!" I breathed in my palms and smelt the fresh breath that the toothpaste guaranteed. "Hmm... not too bad" I shrugged and brushed through my short-length hair before rushing out of the bathroom. "Jax, get downstairs now!" I heard my mom's tired voice resounding from beneath the stairs, she probably was setting the table for breakfast as usual. She was always first to wake up since she was the busiest of us and she hated being delayed. I scrambled out of the bathroom and approached my closet that had quite a lot of vacant space meant to be filled with clothes but then... Anyway, I picked my sole sportswear which was a white tracksuit with blue stripes and wore a set of white soccer jerseys underneath. Setting sight on my shoe rack, I could tell that my eyes gleamed slightly and I had to hold back the urge of putting on the glossy black-white high Nike dunks that I just got for college a few weeks ago. I worked as a shop assistant just down the city so I had a few changes to spare. I had no choice but to put on my old trainers and stormed out of my room. "Yo sis!" Rowing down the stairs, I met the sight of my elder sister who would have been a sloth if she were born an animal. She dragged along the stairs with her ruffled black hair falling over her face. *Blows raspberries* "Morning," She said with long emphasis on the word. I was more surprised that she replied. "Morning mom." I donned a sweet smile on my face gazing upon a middle-aged woman with dark bag cycles under her eyes and slightly draped shoulders. Obviously, she was stressed out as she had a lot on her shoulders, and we all had learned to never get on her bad side. Of course, including my old lazy Dad who just sat there reading the daily newsletter. It wouldn't be too far-fetched to guess whom my elder sister took after with her exceptional trait. Sometimes I even wonder how he managed to cuff mom. But despite all, Dad was really cool. "Hey, champ!" "Dad, how do I look?" Yeah, we were that close. He raised his burrowed gaze from the papers and observed me from head to toe. "Like a champ!" He said with a proud smile. "I tell you that was how I made your mom fall for me" He dug his own grave. Everyone knew, everyone in this household, but he just went ahead and ruined everything. Today was a Saturday, and it seemed no one but Mom was working on this day. She was quite angry alright, but she wouldn't let it out, it was pointless after all. However, not after what the old lazy man just said... Silence fell over the whole building as we all stared at mom, awaiting her next actions. I was certain that I and my sister feared for dad's safety but quite unbelievably, the man in question just continued reading the papers, a proud smile still on his face without any worry as to how what he just said could literally cost him his life. Gulp! Fortunately, Mom didn't seem to hear what the old man said as she just kept arranging the table. "Are you both just going to stand there?" Mom's voice broke the tense atmosphere and I could hear Cara sigh in relief. "A- yeah," I unknowingly stuttered trying to shake off the awkwardness. I hurried to the table and sat, serving my plate with french toast as well as Cara's. "Mom can you pass me the-" in the mix of the peace, I blew my chances. One of the things mom hated was being asked to do something that someone could at least do by themselves. And realizing that I almost did the same in this instance; "Never mind I'll get it myself" I wittingly switched and tried to support it with a smile but I could feel the corners of my lips twitching uncontrollably. Luckily, I escaped with only a cold glare and nothing more. I leaned over the table and picked up the maple syrup and topped it on my french fries. I did the same with Cara's as well with some berries, she'd be paying me back for my 'kind gestures' in the nearest future after all. "So where are you off to this early?" Mom asked as we all had breakfast, even Dad had at a point joined the table. "I- I was invited to participate in a charity match by my friends. Sort of like a last hangout before college" I replied as I poured myself some yogurt. College resumption was due just half a month later. Unfortunately, I and my friends were admitted into different colleges, so we chose this day as our last hangout since we all loved soccer. "Ah... Make sure you have fun kid, this might be the last chance you'll ever have!" Dad commented with slight remorse in his tone. I understood what he meant and I couldn't help but agree with him; last day with 'em boys. "Sure Dad." I nodded and continued with my meal. "Is Blaze coming with you?" Mom asked again. "Yes, mom, and a few more friends of mine," I replied solemnly. She just nodded and said nothing thereafter implying that she would allow the voyeur without including any condition. I might be over the legal age but I have always been obedient; some will qualify it as being a pushover. Mom got off the table first and left for work and I followed a little after. Leaving both Cara and Dad at home. I made it across to the next craftsman-style building that was a little bit similar to that of ours. I casually slipped through the gate and I met the sight of a beautiful garden with several flowers. I took the curving stone pathways to the obtuse building and pushed the doorbell button gently. Ding! Dong! Soon I heard fast steps approaching, it was quite light compared to Blaze's so I figured it'd be either his mom or one of his many sisters. "Who's there?"
