Far From Home

Dave POV Life is beautiful when everything answers to you. Money, riches and most especially Men! A lot of people says I am lucky but I don't believe in luck. I work hard to be here. This is my destiny and am happy I reached fulfilment! I was nominated for an award for the yearly international music festival" I said and smiled at Kevin. My stylist walked in shortly to drop my outfit for the event. "Guess what? This outfit cost me 300 Million Dollars" I showed the outfit to Kevin. "Well, am not surprised. I mean you are the 001 in the music industry. if you don't wear it who will?" Kevin smiled. "You must shine differently when you are called for the award" He added. "Friends for life, what would I have done without you? Obsoletely nothing!" I said to Kevin and we both toast to more riches with a glass of wine. "Dave! Dave!! Wake up, you will be late for work" I heard Kevin call me far away. I felt confused, I suddenly opened my eye when I felt water on my face. "Ohhhhhh Why Why, You woke me up! Can't you wait!" I shouted at kevin "You will be late for work, it's almost 6:30!" Said Kevin. "6:30? s**t!" I ran to the bathroom immediately I heard the time. My boss will kill me if am a minute late. I took a quick bath and search for cloth to wear. "Kevin, Hope you are not planning on wearing that green shirt? I want to wear it" I said to Kevin. "No problem" Kevin replied. I dressed up and ran out of the house. "Taxi Taxi Taxi" I stopped a taxi and I went in. Back to my Dream. That was not the first time of me dreaming a different life when ever I sleep but the reality is nothing to write about. I wished I don't remember whenever I woke up because I knew dreams like that will always stay a dream for an hopeless person like me. I have 2 sisters to take care of, They are my responsibility after our parents pass on to glory years ago though they live with my uncle but the only thing my uncle provides for them is shelter and little of feeding. I pay their school fees, cloth them and try my best not to make them think of our late parents in bad situation. I have a lot to answer too at my young age so my dream has no hope of coming to fulfilment. The Taxi dropped me at the door step of my work place and I walked in. "Good morning sir" I greeted My Boss. "Morning Dave, How are you doing?" He replied me with a smile on his face. "Am good sir, Thanks so much" I replied looking like I saw a ghost. "Come closer, let me show and explain to you something about the goods that came in after you left yesterday. I will soon be leaving, I have a PTA meeting at my son's school" My Boss said. I went closer and he showed and explained the new prices of the new goods after which he left. "What's wrong? it's unusual for my boss to smile and be in good mode this early. The heavens must have bless him real good" I said to myself. Customers came in to buy and left, since my boss left I have no Moment of rest. I sold so much that I was so happy. I counted the money over and over again like they are mine. it's 11am, I wished My Boss will meet me before I ended my shift and handover to my colleague. I wanted to hear a word of appreciation from him when I hand over the money to him. It's 11:55, There is no hope of him showing up. I started my handing over process when I had his voice from my back. My soul was lifted, I smiled. "Welcome Sir, I was about handing over" I said. "Oh, it's 12pm already. How was the sales? Any good news?" My Boss asked. "Yes sir, we will need to make some new orders again because I finished selling almost all of our products" I said not showing my emotions. "Really? You did? Wow!" My Boss smiled beautifully. He went to pack 4 bottles of Coke, a wine and two big bread and gave them to me. "This is for you Dave. You did a very nice work and am proud of you. If you keep this up, I will increase your salary" My Boss said to me keeping his smiling face intact. Deep inside me I wanted to jump at him but I composed myself. "Thank you sir" I said to him and jumped out of the supermarket. I already shared the package given to me immediately I was given, 2 coke for my sisters and one for me and Kevin will take the last one. My sister's will share a bread while Kevin and I will take the other bread... we will leave the wine till something great happens that calls for celebrating. I sang one of my best songs as I walk down the bus stop. My next job was at the Andrew's mansion as a cleaner. I hate working at Andrew's the most. it's a mansion with 100 staff working in 10 department. The family is such a mess. House with children of different mothers, a garden of madness. Problem upon problem! trouble everywhere! The bus dropped me at the junction of the mansion and I walked to the gate. I placed my hands on the gate for identification. I went to staff room to go and change my cloth. The staff wear a white shirt and black trouser. I head to the building after changing. "Hi baby Boy" Lady Anne it's Lady Anne, the second daughter of Chief Andrew's. "Good morning My Lady" I replied. She blinks her eye with a smile and I kept my stare as casual as possible. I knew what she want and I knew the only way to get what she want is when am not in my right senses. Andrew's Daughters??? Having her way means trouble for me. "Ma, I will see you later. am just resuming and I need to sign in" I broke the silence and flew like Joseph in the Bible. I walked to the second building to sign in and resume my work. "Dave" My supervisor called me. "How are you doing? You have been transferred to the main building. You are to resume at one of the ladies room" She added. "Transferred? The ladies? How? Why ma? Which of the ladies room if I may ask" I said wearing a sad look. "Yea, there was a little adjustment yesterday after you left. you are to resume at lady Anne room" She replied. "Lady Anne? why will you transfer me to lady Anne room of all the rooms in the main building?" I replied with a sad look. "Dave, if you have a complain see the general manager. she is in a better position to give you the best answer" She said and walked out of me. "General manager? That's a no go area! Am in serious trouble. Why lady Anne! Why her" I shouted. "Dave is there any problem? Are you ok?" One of the staff asked. "Don't worry I will be fine" I replied with a fake smile. Am left with two options. it's either I quit or I resume at lady Anne room.
