I was still in my head when I got a poke from Richie, but I couldn't feel it much as I saw her image reply this time, just like the night started and went down.
She walked up to the bar. Looking moody
“Can I get a big green bottle of any brand, please?”
She requested, throwing her bags on the floor.
“That's on me.”
I offered to cover the bill.
Don't bother; you can have as many as you want. I can handle all of that.
She responded without hesitation.
I couldn't help or stop myself from admiring the beauty that was just in front of me, her hair coiled and rolling back and her skin describing the disco lights, which changed their colours occasionally. Her voice hits differently with the intention to call my heart out; all I needed at that moment was her, and I knew from the moment she staggered into the bar.
“Come on, a problem shared is half solved. So what brings you looking all messed up?”
I did a quick scan, rolling my eyes all around her body as I took it back to her face. She was looking back.
“Family issues: first, my mother-in-law believes I'm a gold digger, and I'm after her son's money. How do I tell I'm also in line to own one of the biggest shears once I can get married before I turn 25?”
She choked as she mumbled her words out one after the other. That was after the 6th bottle, gulping every drop with much pressure.
“I can make it all go away.”
I flirted with her,
I wasn't a woman-chasing guy, but she made me say things I hadn't practiced before. I threw myself out in every way I could.
Have more drinks while I sort out myself with my assistant.
Taking my eyes back to her position, she was already paying for the drinks.
I had already paid for a room upstairs. How about you come show me the best way to take my mind off this whole pressure I was feeling inside?
“Mr. Wealth, Mr. Wealth Here is her contact information.”
Richie pushed me harder this time till I was fully conscious.
“I'm sorry, what did you say?”
I stammered. Looking up, I could see the papers in his hands as he waved them.
“We've got all we wanted; it's time to get going, boss.”
Richie broke the silence again as he pointed to the paper.
“Oh yeah, let's go.”
Thank you so much for your assistance. We would be on our way now.
Already losing my mind, Richie requested the keys.
“I wish to drive us there, sir.”
He requested smiling as he bowed his head and stretched his hands to get the keys from me.
“That's fine; I have the keys anyway; the car wasn't fast enough in my hands.”
We both rushed out reading the address before he could turn on the car engine.
“I know this place; it's a few miles away, and the main road is under maintenance; we would have to use the city hall way road instead.”
He exclaimed, throwing his hands over the steering.
“And what are we waiting for? We have no time. If I can't find her today, I'll give up looking for her and move on.”
I said as I took a deep breath and let the car seat swallow all of me on it as I reached out for the seat belt.
We kept a steady speed until we both turned to look at the address and name together while he was driving, only for me to raise my head to a moving subject in front of the car.
“Watch out!!”
I screamed, but it was nearly already late; the car front had already run down the pedestrian.
“Oh my goodness.”
He shouted, placing his hands in his face and rubbing it off.
“What have you done? Common, go down and check on whoever it is.”
I barked immediately, raising my voice so loud that anyone close could hear it from the locked windows.
“Boss she is.”
“What are you waiting for? Take her into the car and drive to the hospital. I guess I'll look for a cab back home. I'm done doing this.”
