The arrogant mate of mine

Chapter twenty six - Worst nightmare ever.

Katrina

A group of people surrounded us from all sides. There's no where to escape now. 

"What do you want with us?" I ask as I hold on tightly to star light. 

None of them says anything. Who are those people and how did they find me here?. They are more than twenty in number and it seems like they are multiplying every second. I start walking towards them with all the courage I can can gather right now. They all start growling at me like animals. Some of them start ripping off their clothes and within seconds, they transform into some huge wolf like form. I turn to run back into my tent but I see that it has already been turned into shreds. All of the men that were surrounding me earlier are all gone. 

The forest is only filled with huge vicious wolves and I know they're gonna rip me to shreds too, just like my tent. 

"What do you want from me, I haven't done anything to you" I cry out. 

Who am I kidding, they are not even listening. They all start charging at me at the same time from all sides. I just closed my eyes and wait for the worst that could possibly happen. 

One second! Two seconds!! Three seconds!!! Up to ten seconds but I'm still alive and breathing. Even the growls have subsided. I push open one of my eyes. They are all standing there staring at me but none is trying to kill me. 

What is happening here?. For a minute there, I thought they were going to tear me into pieces but now they're all looking at me like a statue. I gently stand up and I notice that none of them moved. It's like they have been frozen in time or something. 

I start walking slowly in between them. Just when I was hoping that my life is no longer in danger and that I'm free of them, they all start howling at the same time. 

Oh my gosh! Did I just alert them. 

"Mom, dad, please forgive me for not coming back home to you" I whisper silently. 

They still did not attack me, but instead, they all bow their heads. I can see that because there is still a few lines of them that I didn't pass and I'm assuming that all the others have done the same. I start feeling the ground rumbling and shaking, as if it has been put a weight that it can't carry. 

Should I turn back and see what is making the earth shaking. No, that's the stupidest thing to do right now. The vibration keeps coming towards me. I close my eyes again, just waiting for it to happen, death of course. 

Then all of a sudden again, the semi earthquake stops. Then I can hear some bones cracking, as if some human being or animal is being broken to pieces. Something starts walking towards me. I still didn't open my eyes. 

It stands in front of me, so close that I can even feel the heat of it's breath. From what I can feel of the figure, I conclude that it's a human being. Thank goodness, I hope that he has helped me get rid of those creatures. 

"Open your eyes" I hear his voice. 

It's the nicest and moat soothing voice I've ever heard. It's hoarse but it's so comforting. I gently open my eyes and look up to him. He's so tall that I almost hardly reach past his chest. His face looks so familiar but I don't know where I've seen him. The way his eyes keep staring at mine makes me feel uncomfortable, so I look away from him and look down again. 

"Bring them" I hear his voice saying but it seems so arrogant and intimidating now, not like earlier. 

I just feel my heartbeat increasing it's phase. 

What is really happening now?. I turn behind me to see if those wolves are still there. Thankfully, they're not but the bad news is that, those men that surrounded me earlier are back. 

Is he one of them?. 

"Katrina!" I hear Martha's voice calling me in a very scared voice. 

Martha?. What is she doing here? 

"Katrina run!" I hear Carolina shout. 

Now this is getting freaky, next it will be my mom or dad I guess. I wait to hear their voice or one of them but none came. So? 

"Do you know them?" he shouts at me. 

I almost pee in my pant. So he can really shout like that. I just keep quite without knowing what to say. 

"I'm asking you a question!" he shouts at me again. 

This time, no matter how I tried, I still fell on the ground. 

"Get her up" I hear him say. 

Someone picks me up from the ground and make me stand up again. 

"Answer me before I end you all" he shouts, almost growling. 

"Y...y...yes" I answer, nodding my head like a a catapult. 

He pulls me closer to him by my neck. 

His fingers are a bit longer than before. 

"That's good, because you know what I'm here for, right?" he asks. 

What he's here for?, how would I know. 

"W...w...what?" I ask. 

He throw me to the ground and turns back and walks away. The last thing I heard him say before he finally disappears was. 

"Tie her up and bring her too" he says. 

I didn't know that a person can change so suddenly within a minute. He was so soothing when he was talking to me at first but now he's talking to me with so much hatred. I'm still thinking about what to do when I fell like I'm gently sliding away from this life and slowly, I blackout.

I wake up due to the water that someone poured on me. 

"Hhhh!" I draw out a deep breath. 

I wasn't even let to figure out where I was when I was dragged out. It was a very huge place. It's filled with all kind of luxuries you could ever wish for in life but none of it impress me right now. I'm really positive that I'm kidnapped and brought here. I'm about to speak when I saw some people dragging my parents into the huge place. 

"Mom, dad!!!" I call out to them. 

Too bad I can't run to then because I'm tied up. 

"Katrina" my mom calls out and tears filled her eyes. 

Tears of happiness. How could someone be happy in this kind of situation. My friends, Martha and Doctor Carolina were also brought here too. This means that I really heard there voices earlier. It was all real. 

"Martha, Carly I'm really sorry this is all my fault, I should have went somewhere far away, then they wouldn't have found you all" I apologize to them. 

"It's not your fault girl, it was bound to happen one way or the other" Carly says. 

I guess they have kidnapped every souls dear to me. Speaking of that, where did I leave Star light? She was in my hand when all this started and now she's gone. It's like they knew when I was thinking, they brought in a small cage and guess what, Star light is trapped in it. 

"Star light!" I call out to her. 

"Katrina, I thought you were dead, thank goodness you're still alive" she says. 

"Yes I am and I'm glad you are too" I answer back. 

Every body keeps staring at me. They think it's weird talking to a cat, well, sometimes I do even think that it's absurd. They all left us there and walk away. 

What's gonna happen next? Only God knows. If they are gonna kill us, I hope it will be fast and painless. A scary looking lady walks in with some people following suit. I think they are her guards from the look of their dressing. She sits down on one of the couches without saying a word. She sat there for almost ten minutes before another troop of people barge in. It's that man from the forest again. 

'What does he want from me?' that's the question that keeps coming up in my mind. 

He sits in one of the couches too. 

He motions one of the guards to bring me forward. Guess I'm the first to die after all. I'm glad I wouldn't have to witness my family and friends dying in front of my eyes. 

One of the guards picks me up from my kneeling position and drags me to that woman. He drops me off at her feet. 

"She's all yours, you can do whatever you want with her" he says. 

Is he serious, what have I ever done to her. I don't even know her to begin with. 

She leans in to me and puts her scary long nails on my chin and moves them down. It's so painful that I'm sure it will leave a scar. 

"First of all, I'm gonna make you suffer just like you did to me" she says and smirks. 

Really! I made her suffer, how? 

"The way you killed my mate, I'm gonna kill everything that you love right in front of your eyes" she adds. 

Mate? What's a mate? Ahh! She is one of those monsters that attacked us during our field trip. But the mate part, I still don't understand. 

She gets up from her sitting position in a lightening speed. How I wish I have speed powers too. I'd carry all my beloved and run away from here. She cuts my thought when she drags me by my hair. She's a f*****g female and she very well knows how it hurts for a female to be dragged by her hair. 

"Ouch! Please let go" I beg her. 

The pain is so unbearable. But it seems like she's not even listening. She drops me off in front of the others and walks over to my mother. 

"I guess it will hurt so much to see your Mommy die first" she says. 

"Please!" I pleaded. 

"I would do anything you ask but please let them go" I pleaded with her. 

She dug her nails into my mother's neck. 

"I love you my Darling, always remember that" my mom whispers to me as her life keeps slipping away. 

She forcibly remove her nails from my mom's neck which results to her veins being cut off. She falls on the ground lifeless. 

"Nooo!" I shout. 

She turns and face me while licking her fingers. 

"You were saying?" she asks, smirking.

"You monster!" I curse at her. 

"Ohhh! Getting emotional already, we are not even half way through" she says and gets up to my father. 

She also kills him in the same way the she killed my mom and licks her fingers off as well. I turn my head the other side because I don't have the courage to look at this inhumanity but some bastardized i***t amongst the guards turns my head to her direction, forcing me to watch this murder. She also did the same to Carly and then to Martha. 

They made me stare into their eyes as they are breathing their last breath. 

She brings star light from the he cage. 

"What have we here, I little cute cat" she says. 

"But you have to die, what a pity" she says. 

Then she hold her head and twists it the wrong way and the head snapped like a doll's head. 

This is it, now I'm next. I close my eyes waiting for whatever she's gonna do to end my life. 

She drags me by the hair again until I'm forced to open my eyes. 

"I'm not finished with you yet, love" she says. 

I look up to her and she glares at me with so much hatred. 

The guards gathers all their dead bodies in a pile. A guard comes in with a torch and throws it on them. They all burn to crisp in front of my very own eyes. 

I'm not even crying anymore now. My tear ducts have gone on strike when I needed them the most. 

"Now we're done" she says. 

"Come on, I have something special in store for you" she says. 

A guard picks me up from the ground. This time he dropped me at that horrible man's feet. He is sitting there watching all this time and he didn't stop her. 

Maybe he's the one who made her do all this for all I care. 

"What am I gonna do with her brother?" she asks. 

Brother? That explains it all. The family are all pure evil. I look up at him and our eyes meet. 

For some seconds, I thought I saw a bit of sadness and regret in his eyes but they were all gone as soon as they were formed. 

"Do whatever you want with her" he says and gets up from the chair and walks away without even looking back at us. Like brother like sister. They are all evil, they don't know anything about love or affection. She stands me up and before I could process what's really happening, she dung her teeth into the nape my neck...

"Ahhh!!!" I shout as I adjust into sitting position.

"What is it?" Star light asks. 

I just keep breathing fast. I'm so sweaty right now, it's like I'm soaked in a pile of water. 

"Tell me, what happened, you just shouted and now you're looking all sweaty and confused?" she asks again. 

"I...I just had a horrible nightmare that we were all killed by the monsters" I answer. 

"Don't you worry, we are not going to be killed by anyone, just go back to sleep, nothing will happen" she says. 

Maybe she's right, no one will kill us, I hope. 

I lie back down and pretend to sleep. I don't want her to worry about me. She is also as worried as I am. Who are those people that attacked us in my dream? One answer is I don't know them and I never wish to know them, that's for sure.
