Are you leaving? Lily is concerned and perplexed. "Make use of all of this money; it will help you with everything." "Here's my key, and here's the address of the apartment," her grandfather stated as he handed her a piece of paper with the address written on it. “ I’m sorry, but I can’t stay here for long since, I am only given a day to stay on this time.” Her grandfather continued. "But why?"" She asked, a look of exasperation on her face. "Why can't you stay here?"” "How come I'm stuck and unable to return?" " Lily, listen..." he says, holding her granddaughter's hands. Assuring her that everything will be fine. "I can't explain everything to you right now." "But remember, there will come a time when you will have flashback memories of someone or something and you will hear it calling..." “What?" She has no idea what her grandfather was talking about. "Pay attention, because I only have a few minutes left." When you hear or see something, look for more details since they could guide you and provide the solution for you to return to your present time." "For now , use all of these things, and oh, this is my friend," he says, handing a card with the name "Harreth Johnson" on it. "He lives next door to you." "Show him this card, and he'll know how to assist you." "I'm sorry, Lily, but I have to go." She was at a loss for words, unable to comprehend what was going on. She looked at the address on the business card her grandfather had given her, and when she turned back, he was gone. She searched every nook and cranny, but he was nowhere to be found. Feeling devastated, she chose to search for the apartment complex her grandfather had mentioned. it’s getting late now and she’s getting hungry. She also feels not safe while walking on the street. She badly needed a place and to collect her herself. She needed rest to process things and to prepare her journey, so she could go back to the present. When she arrived at the apartment complex, she looked for 55 apartment unit, She saw it at the corner of the building complex. The building complex was a 5 storey building. She tried to open it but it was locked. She took the key on her pocket and it opened. When she opened the door, she’s amazed how her grandfather prepared everything for her. It seems, he knows that she’ll come to this time. When she opened the closet, there were pieces of clothes fitted for her. It seems her grandpa had prepared all this all along. There couple of bags hang in it. She then decided to take a shower and get on the bed. She felt she’s exhausted due to things happened to her. At 7am, she jolted awake, taken aback by the time on the clock. She quickly sat up and threw off the white blanket that had been covering her body. Stretching her arms and legs, she stood up and changed her clothes. As she walked across the room, her bare feet softly padding on the wooden floor, she glanced out of the window and saw the early morning sunlight streaming in. She remembered her next-door neighbor Harreth Johnson and decided to pay her a visit. While fixing her hair, she remembered her next-door neighbor, Mr. Johnson. She had been meaning to introduce herself to him, so she decided to seize the opportunity while she had the chance. The apartment unit 56 was just next door. Lily walked up to Mr. Johnson's door and knocked politely. The door creaked open and Mr. Johnson appeared, looking surprised but pleased to see her. She smiled “ Good morning Mr. Johnson.” She said. “I’m Lily Hernandez…” "Oh! You must be the daughter of Mr. Hernandez..." Mr. Johnson interrupted, seeming to remember who she was. “Yes, I am.” Lily agreed.” She agreed because the old man might confuse that Mr.Hernandez isn’t that old to have a granddaughter at her age. Mr. Johnson looked her up and down, appraising her with a critical eye. "It seems you're ready for the job," he said, nodding towards her outfit. Lily was a little confused but decided to go along with it. "What job?" she asked. Mr. Johnson didn't answer but instead walked out of the door, locking it behind him. "Come and follow me," he instructed, beckoning her to follow him down the hallway. Lily hesitated for a moment before deciding to follow him, curious about what he had in mind. Mr. Johnson continued to talk while they walked towards the street. "Your father is such a hardworking man, always doing his best for his family," he said, as they waited for a taxi to arrive. Lily nodded absentmindedly, still trying to process everything. She couldn't believe that her father had asked Mr. Johnson for a job for her. But then again, she was grateful for the opportunity. As a taxi pulled up beside them, Lily took notice of its appearance. It was a bright yellow car, with black and white checkered stripes along the sides. The car looked sturdy, with thick metal body and wide windows. The roof of the car was adorned with a light-up sign that spelled "TAXI" in large, neon letters. Mr. Johnson opened the door and gestured for Lily to get in. She climbed into the backseat, while Mr. Johnson sat beside the driver. The interior of the car was spacious and well-lit, with comfortable seats and air conditioning. Lily breathed a sigh of relief as the car started moving towards their destination, the post office. The interior of the cab was surprisingly spacious, with a bench seat in the back that could comfortably fit three people. The seats were covered in a durable vinyl material that looked like it could withstand a lot of wear and tear. A metal barrier separated the driver from the passengers, with a small sliding window that allowed them to communicate. "Get in," Mr. Johnson said, gesturing towards the open door. Lily complied, and Mr. Johnson followed suit. "By the way Lily," he continued, "I have arranged for you to work at the post office. You will handle all the letters and packages going between Vietnam and the USA." Lily nodded."Gary will be your assist and help you with everything you need to know as a postal transportation clerk," he added. As the bustling city slowly awakened, the taxi pulled up in front of the Transfer Office U.S Mail. The building was a large, nondescript warehouse, with a loading dock in the back for trucks to unload packages. Inside, the office was a flurry of activity, with employees rushing to sort and organize letters and packages. Gary was already there, waiting to greet them. "Good morning, Mr. Johnson," Gary said with a nod. "And you must be Lily. Welcome to the post office." He gestured for them to follow him as he led them to Lily's work station, where she would spend the next few hours learning the ropes of her new job.
