Love, Lucy

The cold wind swished through the air as the snow slowly fell from the overcast sky. I gripped my hands on the steering wheel as I came up to my childhood home. I haven't been there for years, and rightfully so. After I discovered that my mother had hid my letters to my high school girlfriend from me, I flipped my s**t on her and told her I was never coming back. I came back this year because my younger sister, Genny, begged me to.  When I drove up to the house, I saw Genny standing at the door with a red beanie on and long puffy winter jacket on. Her nose and cheeks were reddened from the cold and she had her arms wrapped around her body as she waited for me. I pulled up into the driveway and a huge smile on her face and her eyes glistened with excitement. She jumped up and down as I parked my car in the driveway and turned off the ignition. I took the keys out of the car and pulled the door handle towards me with my right hand and pushed the door open with my left. I climbed out of my car and pushed the door close with my hand. Genny began running down the driveway as I pushed the door close. When I closed the door, I pressed the lock button my car keys and Genny threw herself onto me, almost knocking me over. I laughed as I wrapped my arms around her. "Hey Genny!" She looked up at me with a smile. "Hey Lucy!!!" She let go of me and turned towards the house as we both began to walk towards it.  "So, mom is making her famous cinnamon sugar cookies." I smiled.  "Well, it's a good thing I left the cinnamon sugar cookies at my bakery." Genny smiled at me. "How is the bakery doing?" "It's doing great. Business couldn't of been better." Genny looked over at me with a smile on her face for a second.  "Well, I'm glad. I always knew you'd open up your own bakery shop. I remember you'd never leave the kitchen when mom was baking and you'd beg her to let you help her." I chuckled.  "Yeah, I remember. I even remember when I was ten I tried to make the cinnamon sugar cookies, and you were there helping me, and instead of using sugar, we accidentally used salt." Genny threw her head back and laughed. "That sure made for a unique Christmas Day!" I laughed at her response. "It sure did!"  We got to the door and I placed my hand on the door handle and twisted the handle and thew the door open. Genny popped her head in and looked towards the kitchen. "Lucy's here mom!" We both walked into the house and Genny closed the door behind us. "Oh really? After all these years?" Genny sighed. "Mom, I told you not to start when she got here!"  "Well, sue me for being upset! She's the one who f****d off when she was eightee-"  "MOM! ENOUGH!" Genny yelled in anger. Our mom, who had short curly blonde hair and blueish green eyes leaned over and looked us.  "You're lucky your father isn't here, he would've shut that mouth of yours!" I sighed. "Mom, I just wanna have a good time while I'm here, ok? All that matters is I came, right?" Our mother sighed. "Yeah, I guess you're right." I walked into the kitchen with a smile on my face.  "Could we help you bake the cinnamon sugar cookies, mom?"  "Sure, why not? Your father won't be home for a while. You know how he is on Christmas Eve." Genny and I looked at each other with annoy looks on our faces and rolled our eyes. Genny mouthed 'asshole' before we turned towards the kitchen sink and washed our hands.
