Chapter 18.
"I hope you know what will happen if you keep coming to give me food." Hiro eyed Amaya across the table
This was the third time in a row she was bringing him food after she did the last time.
She had told herself that she would not get close to him again, but she couldn't help herself.
The fact that he didn't come to eat with his family told her a lot, although she knew he could do that if he wanted to.
It was like there was a certain force that kept pushing her towards Hiro. It was like a sickness and he was the only one who could redeem her.
She didn't understand what was wrong with her, but she couldn't help it.
"But you could get food by yourself if you wanted. So, why do you spend all your time in your room? You don't even go outside. You don't associate with your family "
Hiro held his spoon above his plate. He lifted his head and glanced at Amaya. A dark expression on his face.
There was a small table in between them. They were sitting on the flow with their legs crossed over each other.
"Is that why you have been bringing me food?"
"Huh?" Amaya furrowed her brows in confusion. What was he talking about?
"To ask about my family." He narrows his eyes. He looked at her like he wanted to get some information from her.
"What are you planning to do?" This time, he folded his hands across his chest. His eyes not leaving her face.
"I-I-I don't understand what you're talking about." She stammered and avoided his gaze.
But he could tell that, she was definitely up to something.
She had just come out of nowhere, and even after she had been warned not to near him, she was still here every day with food.
It wasn't like he couldn't get the food by himself. He didn't just want to get in contact with anyone but from the look of things, this white-haired girl wouldn't be living his side anytime soon.
"Okay, then. You should go ahead and eat." He offered and picked up his spoon.
"But I can't. " She shrugged. She wasn't about to eat with him. On what basis was she even doing that?
"Pick up the spoon and eat with me." His voice was low and gentle but she couldn't resist the strong command in it.
"Of course." She said with a shaky breath. She picked up the spoon and dipped it in the dish.
"What on earth am I doing?"
Amaya slapped herself in the face as she entered the kitchen. She pressed her back against the door and stared at the tray in her hands.
She had promised herself not to get close to Hiro, so what on earth was she doing?
This wasn't supposed to happen? Then what was this force in her that kept pushing her towards him?
She couldn't stop from seeing him.
***
"Yes." Amaya jumped off her bed and hurried to the door when she heard a knock at her door
From the hard banging on her door, she could tell that it was Kazumi. No one placed such an angry fist against her door.
What exactly did he want now?
It was late in the night. Close to 10 pm.
She opened the door with a frown on her face.
Kazumi stood in front of her door, his hands in the pockets of his pants.
His hair was styled to his left this time around, the edges dancing on his shoulder.
What man style his hair like that? Amaya glanced up at him.
"What can I do for you, Alpha?" She asked, not understanding why he was just there, staring at her.
He took his hands off his pants and folded them across his chest.
"Didn't I make it clear to you last time that you shouldn't see Hiro or be anywhere around him?"
Amaya looked down at her feet. Had he been washing her?
She made sure no one saw her or was he just testing her?
"I didn't go to see anyone." Her voice was low, but she tried her best not to let out anything.
"Do not push me. Don't let me make things harder for you in this pack. You should do what I tell you to do."
"But he is my..." Amaya snapped back but immediately brought her hands up to her mouth.
"He is your what?" Kazumi spun around and glared at her.
"Your f**k buddy?" He questioned.
"What?" Amaya's widen in utter shock. f**k buddy.
What was that supposed to mean? Nothing like that has ever crossed her mind.
"Stay away from him. I will not tell you this again and make sure to see me in my room as soon as possible."
He turned and walked away. Amaya quickly shut the door and leaned behind it.
Her heart beating fast in her chest.
What was she about to do? Spill out the beans about someone who didn't even care at all.
She was quite lucky that she had to shut up before things escalated.
"I will need you to stay away from that girl." Hiro stepped in front of Kazumi after he left Amaya's room.
"I don't know what problems you have with me, but do not drag her into it."
They stood in the hallway. Hiro was a bit taller and broader than Kazumi. So, he looked intimidating.
"What girl are you talking about?" Kazumi stood, with his head straight up.
"Aiko. I think you should stay away from her."
He warned. He was out in the corridor reading a book, when he overheard Kazumi talking to Amaya.
He didn't know why, but there was this need for him to protect her, to keep his family away from her.
They weren't nice people.
He knew Kazumi. He couldn't afford to hurt anyone but after he became Alpha, he had turned into somebody else.
He understood that maybe it was one of those times where they will say people hide their real selves and only show it when some opportunities arise
"Make me." Kazumi rolled his eyes and walked away.
Hiro walked his tongue iinside his mouth, his hands clenched together as he watched him walk away.
He couldn't do that. He was family.
He quickly released his hands before it could lead to something else.
