Elias Lyn lies in my arms. Her small petite form rests on my lap her head leaning against my chest. Her eyes are closed and at last she seems to have found something like peace and quiet. I look at her relaxed face. I rarely see her so calm, either her features are marked by fear or complete emptiness. I would love to see her smile, hear her laugh and feel her joy, but that will probably never happen to me. She must never know my secret, nor must anyone else. I have to stay hard and cold, only stealing those little moments with her when she just sleeps in my arms.
