Lyn POV I am already in my cage when the vampire prince returns. He strokes his hair with a sigh, somehow looking a little lost. That changes quickly though as he notices my gaze, immediately the cold mask of equanimity returns, displacing any humanity I seem to have placed on him. I hastily pull away and avert my gaze from him. Apparently the dinner with his family didn't go so well. I remember too well the punishments I had already received and I am not keen on receiving another one simply because he is in a bad mood. He disappears into the bathroom and I hear the rush of the shower. I want to wait for him to come back but the work in the kitchen has exhausted me so much that I fall asleep immediately.
