Following the tragical New Year's Eve celebration, every archangels headed back to Heaven, except for one. Jophiel bid farewell to her brothers and sisters and she went home where she belonged. It wasn't midnight yet and Brendon was sitting next to the kitchen table with a lamp next to him. He has been trying to assemble a tiny boat in a bottle when he heard Jophiel's steps. He took the magnify glass away and walked to Jophie. When he saw her, he kew again how lucky he is to have her by his side. Jophiel was a stunning beauty and her dirty pink dress that sparkled like the stars, made Brendon stare at awe. - Hey Love! Why are you home so early? Did something happen? - Jophiel's eyes were filled with tears and Brendon embraced her till she calmed down a little. - I missed them so much Bren, but they are not a family anymore...- Jophiel said and Brendon felt sorry for his wife. Jophiel explained to him that if an angel spends lots of time on Earth with humans, their personality changes and they become more human. So, the perfect family that she used to belong, wasn't thay flawless after all. Brendon pulled a chair out for Jophie and gave her a handkerchief. She wiped her tears off and Brendon asked. - What happened? - Jophie took a deep breath. - Lucifer had a demon by his side, one he seemed to care about. - What is the issue with that? - Brendon asked and Jophiel shook her head. - Nothing! I was happy for him, it was nice to see him so out of his regular self. He seemed more free to me. But Azrael ruined everything. He... He killed Lucifer's companion. - Brendon's eyes widened. - Why? - Jophiel looked at her husband sadly and for the thought that she could loose him her heart hurt. - He said the demon girl disrespected him. Brendon, you should've seen Lucifer's face when she fall from the balcony. I thought for a split moment that Hell will crumble down and Lucifer will somehow break his seal. Our eldest sister, Gabrielle, the messenger of God, gave Azrael's sword to Lucy. She forced Azrael to beg for his life, but that cold, arrogant i***t just stared at Lucy. - Did he kill Azrael? - Brendon asked. - Miraculously, he didn't. Azrael ended up banned from Hell and Lucifer kicked all of us out too. - Brendon held Jophiel's hand and grinned. - What is so funny? - she asked and Brendon lifted her hand. He kissed it and looked deeply in the eyes of his spouse. - I just realized that I'm worth than the Devil himself. - Jophiel's eyes widened. - How? Why are you saying that!? - she almost screamed, but Brendon kept looking into her eyes. He looked really irresistible and a little dangerous when he said. - If anyone, would ever lay a hand on you, I'd kill them at that instant without hesitation. But if someone would take you away from me... - Brendon's grin turned wicked. - I'd sell my soul to your brother to exterminate that creature from the world forever. - Jophie stood up and leaned over the table kissing Brendon passionately. This is real. These feelings are real and none of my siblings will ever understand how deeply love can grow. They headed to their bedroom and spent a heated night together. When the clock ticked midnight, Jophiel was already asleep. Brendon got up and drank a glass of water while he looked out of the window and listened to the faded noises from the surrounding houses. Then, he put the glass down and got on his knees in front of the window. He clenched his hands into a prayer and said. -Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins. As we forgive those who sin against us. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, amen. Lord Almighty, I am not your faithful servant, and therefore I ask no forgiveness. I know you do not like me, nor will you ever accept me as your son-in-law, but I love your daughter very much. I will do everything humanly possible to protect her and make her happy. Please, Lord, bless us with a child your daughter so desires. It's enough for me to have her with me until I breathe my last breath, but Jophiel wants more than anything to carry our child under her heart. So please, if you love her half as much as I do, then give us a miracle. - Brendon drew a cross in front of him and went back to bed. He held Jophie in his arms and fall asleep hoping that his first prayer, will be listened.
