The ceremony was held under the light of the full moon.
The entire Silvermoon Pack had gathered in the clearing where Maya had trained. Torches lined the path, casting a warm golden glow across the gathering. Everyone was dressed in their finest clothes, their eyes shining with excitement.
Maya stood at the center of the clearing, wearing a beautiful white dress that flowed to her feet. Her hair was loose, and a crown of wildflowers rested on her head. She felt nervous, but also happy.
Kai walked toward her, looking handsome in a dark suit. His silver eyes were locked on hers, and he was smiling, a soft, genuine smile that made her heart swell.
"Ready?" he asked, taking her hands.
"Ready," she said.
The pack elder, an old wolf named Marcus, stepped forward. "We are gathered here tonight to witness the union of Alpha Kai and his Luna, Maya. Their bond is strong, their love is true, and their destiny is written in the stars."
Maya felt tears prick at her eyes. She looked at Kai, and he squeezed her hands gently.
"Kai," Marcus said, "do you accept Maya as your Luna, your partner, and your equal?"
"I do," Kai said, his voice strong. "I will protect her, cherish her, and stand beside her for all eternity."
"Maya," Marcus said, "do you accept Kai as your Alpha, your partner, and your equal?"
Maya smiled. "I do. I will stand beside him, support him, and love him with everything I am."
Marcus smiled. "Then by the power of the moon and the bonds of pack, I declare you Alpha and Luna. You are bound together, now and forever."
Kai leaned in and kissed her, and the pack erupted in cheers. Maya laughed against his lips, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"I love you," he murmured.
"I love you too," she whispered.
Later that night, Maya and Kai stood on the balcony of the pack house, watching the moon.
"I can't believe this is real," Maya said. "A month ago, I was just a normal girl. Now I'm a Luna. I'm your mate. It's so much to take in."
"You're not just my mate," Kai said, wrapping his arm around her. "You're my partner. My equal. My everything."
Maya leaned into him. "Thank you for never giving up on me."
"I will never give up on you," he promised. "Not now. Not ever."
Maya looked up at the moon and felt a sense of peace she had never felt before. She was no longer running from her destiny. She was embracing it.
And she was ready for whatever came next.
