Chapter 4

Anastasia's POV

“I will be leaving now,I have to go to the opening of the pup care center.” I pecked Lawrence in the lips.

“Okay sweetheart.” He smiled.

I could feel his eyes on me as I left the living room to go out. I wished and at the same time hoped that he would stay true to his promise.

Blake opened the door of the car for me and I entered. He shut the door and went to the front seat to drive.

“What about the stuff I asked you to do?” I asked him.

He used his other hand to pick a green file that was on the seat next to him and passed it to the back.I took it from him and opened it, bringing out some papers and photos.

I caught a glimpse of Blake peering at me from the mirror,he was watching to see my reaction.

“Selena Blackthorn? Anything about her parents?” I arched my eyebrows.

“Nothing ma.” He answered.

I flipped through the pages and read every single thing not even missing the slightest dots or commas. I paused when my eyes landed on one of the pictures,it was a picture of Lawrence and Selena kissing.

I shifted in my seat, my wolf pacing weakly at the sight of the picture. The cloth Lawrence was putting on was the one I got for him on his birthday a year ago.

Which meant one thing, Lawrence lied about when he and Selena met,they didn't just meet some months back.

“Anastasia?” Blake called in a worried tone.

I closed the file and held onto my head,as I felt a pang in my head and in my chest.

My husband has been lying to me.

“Should I turn the car around?” Blake asked.

“No,we will go there as planned.” I rested my back on the seat and shut my eyes.

“So what are you going to do?” Blake asked in a low voice.

“I'm kicking her out, I'm not going to lose Lawrence to her.” I whispered without opening my eyes.

I love Lawrence so much,I refuse to imagine him being with Selena. I can't even think of starting over with another man,I would give whatever it takes to get my man back.

Seeing little pups playing around made my heart flutter. I loved kids. I always wanted one but with the way things were for me I doubted that.

After distributing the toys and gifts to the children and supplements to the mother's,I went to sit under a tree reminiscing about the past before Blake showed up.

“It's late already, you should go home.” Blake blocked my view.

I sighed and stood up from the ground.I didn't want to go back to the house but I couldn't say a word.

“Lead the way.” I uttered.

Blake drove me back to the pack house,I dismissed him, and went to Lawrence and I quarters. As I approached our place I could sense our maids looking uncomfortable.I dismissed the feeling but as soon as I got to the front of my bedroom.

I lost it.

My heart tightened as I heard the sound of moaning and the slapping of skin against each other. I could hear Selena moans and panting , Lawrence muffled moans stroke a nerve in my heart.

Unable to bear it again,I opened the door widely.

“s**t!” Lawrence sputtered a series of curses as he sprang up from the bed.

“Can't you knock!” Selena yelled at me and Lawrence growled at her.

I stood fixated on the spot as I watched them on my bed. When Lawrence made love to me,he shared the sacredness with another woman.

I wiped the tears that managed to fall from my eyes, turned my back against them and walked out of the room.

“Anastasia!” Lawrence ran after me and I didn't stop.

“Anastasia!!” Lawrence sped to me, caught my hand and I slapped him.

The maids gasped and Lawrence growled at them to leave,my eyes landed on where he was still holding me.

“Let go of me.” I said through gritted teeth,I could feel my wolf about to take over.

“I'm sorry…it shouldn't have happened..we can talk this out.” Lawrence blabbed and I shut him up.

“STOP!!” I growled and he went mute.

“On…my matrimonial bed! It was that same bed you made love to me, what about the promises you made to me!!” I screamed at him.

I wiped my tears when I heard some footsteps running towards us,it was Lawrence Beta and Gamma.

“Alpha, Luna.” They bowed in unison.

“What's wrong?” Lawrence asked.

“There is a breach at the border, rogues are trooping in!” They exclaimed.

“What!” I gasped.

Lawrence and I alongside the rest ran out,we shifted in our wolf forms as we tried to get to the border. Suddenly the anger I was feeling towards Lawrence disappeared as I thought of how to tear the rogues apart.

When we arrived, some of the patrol guards were down,my wolf growled in anger and I sped to the direction of where the rogues were,I could see Lawrence's wolf running behind me and fighting alongside me.

The rogues kept coming in,I didn't know how they got this much. I dugged my claws into the ground as I took a stance,I was now surrounded by six huge wolves gnawing their teeth against me.

I couldn't fight them alone.

'Lawrence I'm surrounded' I called through the link when I didn't see anyone around.

'Lawrence I need you!’ I panicked through the link.

The rogues charged at me at once,I couldn't fight them off. They each took a chunk of my flesh and I howled in pain and for help.

'Help'

'Lawrence'

'Anyone,I…need.. help’

I whimpered lowly as the rogues took turns,my wolf cried and I could feel life dripping out of me. I heard a faint voice and the rogues stopped,they withdrew from me. I couldn't see the person who ordered them but I could still hear voices.

“Is she dead?” It was Lawrence's voice.

“Yes.” One of the rogues answered.

“Throw her in the sea.” Lawrence ordered.

I wished I wasn't able to hear,I wished that I was just dreaming, that all this was just an imagination.

And to escape the harsh reality I embraced the darkness.
