Chapter 5

560 Words
It was the first day of classes and I didn’t get too far into the books for potions since I had stayed up with the girls talking. They were so nice and wished I had tried to make one friend last year, but I was glad to have the girls I did now. I grabbed the things I needed for the classes I had before lunch. I wasn’t too excited about the classes that I had since they weren’t potions. I sat next to Gina in my second class that we shared and we walked in the same direction for our third classes that were next to each other. We met together to go get Allie for lunch. We took our books to our room before we headed to the dining hall. We went into the dining hall and looked for some open seats. Lunch was not set up the same as dinners. We didn’t have to sit at the tables that were for our year. We enjoyed lunch talking and eating. Gina and I went over the things of our class trying to figure out what it was we were going to do the whole year. We asked Allie about her classes. “I like most of my classes, but it is the first day. Also, does the basic magic professor give you a ton of work the first day?” “Yea, but if you can get through the first day the rest of the year will be easy,” Gina told her. “She’s right. I had to get help my first year from a lot of my professors. I don’t think the same way as they do. Just remember if you ask for help they will help you.” “Truer words couldn’t be said better.” Professor Lucas’ voice scared us. He smiled and then kept walking. “He is so cute,” Gina said. Allie nodded her head. “I don’t see it,” I told them. I was also sad that they were like all the other girls in the school. They looked at me in shock. “Probably for the best since you will most likely be in Potions as your things. You wouldn’t want to be tempted by the professor.” Gina said. It was time for my second set of classes and my first one was potions and I was ready to start that class, even though I didn’t do much reading. I walked into the class sitting in the back in the same seat I had before. I put the books that I had gone to get before classes had started. “Afternoon class welcome to your second year of potions. This will be a little more work than last year but there will be more potions made as well.” Lucas started the class. I was more attentive than I had been in the past as we went over a few things about the class. A few more safety tips that were not needed last year. I listened to the way he talked about potions and the excitement he had for us this year. I was surprised that we got through the lecture that he had started and didn’t plan to finish. I collected my books and met up with Gina two finish our last two classes together.
