Chapter 6

It is now the end of the semester and I enjoyed a great year with Gina and Allie who had met others in her year that whom she became friends. Sometimes Gina would hang out with some other girls mostly for study groups for the class we both had at different times. I went to my groups but it wasn’t easy when people didn’t like the fact I was like a professor's pet for potions. Some people accused me of flirting with Professor Lucas when I never did since I found it gross. I was happy that the year was over and I would be getting some summer reading from the Professor. I had reminded him every month that went by asking if he had looked into the books he wanted me to read over the summer. He always smiled at me than a shh since he didn’t want to tell me. I packed all my things and made room for the books before I took them to be sent home. “Gina, I’m going to get the books Professor Lucas promised me you want to come?” I asked. “I wish I could. I'm still trying to pack everything, but it looks like I have more than when I got here. The spell I used to make everything fit isn’t working as well as I had hoped.” Half of Gina’s things were packed neatly into her three suitcases but the other half was in a pile on her bed. “Maybe you need to try and do it by hand. I think you can squeeze more in that way.” I laughed a little. I didn’t use the spell and I know my two suitcases were full when I came and I was able to make room for some books. “If you still need help when I get back then I’ll go through and get it all in for you.” I smiled at her and left the dorm to get the books I was too excited about. I walked into the classroom to see that the professor’s door to his office was open. I climbed the stairs and could hear a girl's voice. “Please Professor.” The voice carried through the room. As I got to the opening I saw the girl with her body up against the professor. I cleared my throat and the girl looked angry at me for interrupting her unwanted attention to the Professor. “Hey, Professor, I’m here for the books you promised me.” The professor pushed the girl away from him and then out the door of his office. He locked the door to keep the girl from coming back in. The Professor sighed. “That sucks for you,” I told him. He looked at me and gave me an I’m okay smile. “Okay, so the book I am going to give you is from my collection. The thing is I have to still find it. Plus it is not in my office.” The professor went to another door that was in his office that I thought was extra storage, but he knocked on the door in a unique set of knocks and then opened the door. I saw a house. “I’m going to head into my house and look through my books. It shouldn’t take me long, just relax on the couch.” He stepped through the door and it closed. I stood there in shock. I went and opened the door and it was back to what I thought was storage, I decided to close the door and do what he said about sitting and waiting. It took about half an hour before the door opened again and the Professor came out holding a book in his hands. “Take special care of this book, it’s a little different than other potion books but I’m sure you will find some use in it over the summer.” I took the book and pressed it to my chest so happy to have something for the summer to do. “Thank you. I will take good care of it.” I said then unlocked the door to his office to see a line of girls waiting to get in. I moved past them and their dirty looks as I went back to my dorm to carefully pack the book away to wait for me when I got home. Gina was still in the room trying to pack the pile on the bed looking smaller and one suitcase closed. “You were right. I had to pack by hand.” “Do you want me to help?” I asked. “Yeah take that suitcase and pack it.” She laughed. “Hey, are you two ready to finally go home,” Allie said as she walked into our room. “Still trying to get everything to fit to get it home,” Gina said. “Why didn’t you just create a new suitcase. That’s what a few girls and I did.” Allie said like it was common knowledge. “Why wasn’t that my first thought?” Gina said. Planting her hand into her face. “We are almost done here and there is always next year.” I laughed. Then I got a pillow thrown to my face. “Was that necessary?” I still laughed. “The next one will be if you don’t stop laughing at me,” Gina said then started to laugh. We finished packing all of Gina’s things and got them to the spot for them to be transported home. “I’m so glad I met you two. I know I have other friends, but you two are the best.” Allie said. “I will be so happy to see you both next year.” We did a group hug before we all went home for the summer.
