Dragon's Darkness

Blood covered the ground as the flames bellowed to the sky turning their world into ashs. Every step he took pain rattled his bones and heart as he instinctively looked for his mate Serena and her sky blue dragon Iris. She was hurt possibly dying he could feel their connection weakening he needed to find her he had to make sure, he needed to save her what if the darkness got to her first? what if she didn't make it out of the mansion in time, what if she's trapped? Too many "what ifs" crossed his mind as his dragon growled softly whining in pain he can feel Iris's pain as much as I can feel Serena's "we'll find them Slade just hold strong for the time they need our strength." I told him patting his leg gently. Slade whined sadly as his claws dug up the earth impatiently scanning the area for them but there's so much smoke it wouldn't be possible even for Slade's keen sight. All we could see in front of us was our life, our friends, family, and dragons alike dead and burning turning the earth into a sea of blood. Houses collapsed ravaged from the onslaught slaughter the darkness brought down on them. Pain ripped through my body as I collapsed on the ground screaming holding my heart, Slade roaring as his own dragon was brought to the ground in pain of his own... Our mates... my beloved Serena... His Iris... their being hurt.. our bond snapping string by string. The sound of screaming got closer... a dragon roaring weakly, iron clad footsteps walking towards us as I looked up to see him... the man we know as the darkness holding my mate by the hair dragging her with him. His pitch black dragon dragging Iris by her neck as blood soaked her scales leaving a trail behind them. This single monster of a man had destroyed our whole town with just himself and his beast. I watched as my Serena tried still to fight him to make him release her to no avail. Tears streaked her beautiful face breaking my heart more as her dress was ripped to shreds blowing in the wind. Slade was the first to react as the anger in our vains fueled our determination to stand against the pain we shared. As he roared and reared to attack the darkness simply laughed at the threat before raising his hand. A signal to his black dragon to increase the pressure on Iris's throat. The Shockwave of pain exploded through Serena and Slade as her bond and his mate was slowly being killed in front of them. In unison her scream and his roar filled the sky as Iris now hung limp in the attackers Jaws. "How weak you are.. just look Serena! you choose this pathetic weakling.. over ME!" His hand gripping her hair tighter as he shook her to get her attention. "Don't touch her! Don't you dare F*****g touch her! What do you want! Why do this?" I yelled at him The darkness slowly lifted a silver coated blade to Serena's throat " THIS... this is what I wanted... Serena was MINE you stole her from me! defiled her, tainted her, look at her now... she used to be strong, fiery, gorgeous. She's a shell now YOU did this to her..." A small girl in a hooded black dress walked out of the shadow from his dragon standing beside the darkness her small hands clasped together as she waited to be acknowledged. "Not now Ska." he growled as he pressed the knife into Serena's neck. "My apologies your Darkness but...." her words cut off by the sudden soft weak whine from Iris... Slade lifting his head purring back as to reassure her he's still here. Ska cleared her throat as she started again "There's been a prophecy my Darkness. These two need to be left alive." "WHAT DID YOU SAY!!" the Darkness roared. " How dare you say they need to live... they need to bleed a slow a painful end. Ska did not a say a word after that only turned and disappeared back into the shadows of his dragon. The darkness grumbled and paced back and forth dragging Serena with him as he mulled over thoughts in his disgusting twisted mind. "Please... we didn't do anything wrong. Serena is my mate, her dragon is mines mate. Please don't take them from us" I couldn't do much but beg at this point he destroyed my entire town.. what match would I be against him on my own. The darkness stopped in his tracks and stared for a moment before tossing Serena on the ground in front of me. I quickly scramble crawled over to her holding her close as I buried my nose on her hair. "Make no mistake this is but a extension to your deaths soon to come. I WILL have my revenge." The snap of his fingers caused his dragon to release Iris roughly on the ground. Slade was just as quick as I was to rush to his mates side standing over her. Teeth showing to the black dragon threatening him to come closer. And just like that the Darkness was gone in a cloud of smoke leaving us to rebuild our lives.
