I swear I thought I was going to be imprisoned.
'My life is over,' that was what I thought. To be honest, that... what happened to my parents can't be on me. Not in million ways.
Just as my eyes met my parents' lifeless bodies, I wasn't able to control my Shock. I didn't heard Cat say anything except her shocked words that served me as a wakeup call, While I was panicking, but she ran out.
I guess she ran into someone when she stormed out the front door, that my screaming made one of our neighbors shocked. I saw him jumping into our house, right away after she left, but the man rushed to his phone to make a call. I looked to his direction and passed out. The 'what happened?' wasn't clear for me, after that. I woke up in a hospital room as a nurse works on the IV tube connected on my arm. No one was able to explain to me what exactly happened nor where Cat was or how she was doing. After a while a woman walked in to the room I was hospitalized in.
"Hello, Bekim," she pressed a simple smile on her lips. I smiled back but with concern. I feared a lot of things, but one was the fact that I would be someone who killed the only two person who genuinely cared for her. I can't leave with that. "I'm Detective Carrie," she introduced herself. "I'm here to ask you some questions, if you're okay?" She asked me as she pulled a chair closer near the bed and took a sit.
"I... I'm fine?"
"I hope that's not a question," with her lips pressed, she smiled to me and I fill my chest with air.
"My parents, what happened to them?" I was hoping to be told that they are fine and that I was imagining the worst. She didn't say anything, but she breathed in heavily as she looks away.
"I'm sorry," she uttered feeling a bit disturbed. I can feel a breath of air on my chest, making it difficult to breathe. I pressed on my chest with both my hands as I try to calm down.
"Ho... haaaw... how..." I am still not sure if I know what I was hoping to say, but I was screaming unable to calm down, uneasy to sort my thoughts.
"Please, calm down, Miss Bekim..." I heard her voice, for a while, but it started to turn into the process of receding away.
She screamed for help and a doctor rushed into the room with nurses, that's what I was able to realize by that time, just as my vision started to get blurry, I felt like closing my eyes. Then it was totally dark.

"... that can't be a reason, can it?" A voice pours in my ears in an echo. I suppose I am still in the hospital bed, but it's clear for me that I can tell it's an old woman's voice; rough and still calm.
"After all there is nothing indicating towards her," another voice but a male voice gives a response for the first one. Someone is in the room with me.
"Great, I want her home and right away."
"You can, I'll handle the rest of legal process," the man answers.
"I think she's waking up, you can go," the women says as I mumble in my sleep, in the process of opening my eyes. I am not sure for how long I was sleeping but my body feels unrested.
I get a bit spastic for the too bright light that welcomes my vision. I shrug as I squeeze my eyes shut and then opens my them once again. My eyes catch the man who just closed the door behind himself as he walks out the room. He looks heavy from behind, tall and heavyweight, brown suit coat and rare gray haired.
"Welcome back," the old woman's voice takes my attention to the chair that was placed under the bed I am resting on. If I'm not wrong, I recall when the Detective who confirmed the situation regarding my parents placing it there.
I press my lip as I try to sit up but another woman, young and slim, offers me her support and I frown turning to the right side of the bed, where she is standing by.
She seems like a robot; emotionless; no smile, no, frowning, no sadness... no emotion on her face, not even a slight gasping on her lips as she bends towards me. She has a beautiful long cardinal red hair subdued in a loose plate that the tip falls on her right side of her chest, long neck and beautifully displayed collarbone, her straight nose plays major roll to her upturned emerald green eyes. She didn't dare to look at me, but she is rather focusing on supporting me to sit up. Her black blousn mini dress makes her seem thinner than she already is.
"That is Rose, she will be your help in everything you wish to do. She is a professional curator and from now on will be by your side," the old women explains my quizzical thoughts in my head.
Rose turns to the inside table and hands me glass of water and I get the merciful wetting to my throat, gulping it down.
"Who are you?" I ask her whispering. She seems cruel, I mean she is typical villain in the cartoon movie. Her gray hair with rare black subdued in French twist, pale wrinkled skin, even though she is sitting I still can tell she is tall, long fingers clasped around her weird and unique cane; the handling is crystal that seems like glowing as the rest of the body is woody and with what feels like a special curving, as the crystal handle is curving of a hand shape holding the crystal.
"I am Audra, you will be staying with me from now on," that's a bit too short introduction I didn't expect.
"What happened to my parents?" I ask. "There was a detective here earlier..."
"She won't bother you from now on. That was unorthodox visit and I suppose the news she gave you almost harmed your life."
"Um," I frown feeling a bit confused... actually, I am deeply confused. "Stay with you?"
"Yes. Our transportation is ready and we will soon fly as soon as you are ready to move around." Mrs. Audra is a bit too precise and soulless.
"Fly? My parents, what happened to them?"
"Unexplainable incident. That's what the officers said. I'll give you more details on everything on our way home," she stands quick and holds her cane up in the air. "I'll leave you to get dressed, the doctor said that you are fine and can leave when you are ready," she walks to the door making me question what she needs the cane for. She seems fine and strong. "You're in good hands," she adds as she walks out indicating to Rose.
"The funeral arrangement for my..."
"That will be handled as soon as the investigation is over," she answers to me and closes the door behind her.
"My friend, Cat?" I turn to Rose who is waiting for me. "Do you know where she is, how she is?"
"I heard she's not in good condition," she answers to me. She sounds calmer and her voice is sweet to the ears.
"Where, what happened to her?"
"I'm afraid I'm not to say anything."
"Please," I hold her hands in mine. "If I can't see her, or know about her I won't be able to rest well. I thought you are here to help me," I am hoping to get to her soft side and I think it's working that she smiles, but sadly.
"She is here in this hospital. We had to pay her visit before coming to see you. She is in the psyche ward."
"Why, what happened? I have to go see her," I get out of the bed, but she holds me by my arm and stops me from proceeding.
"Please, don't," she seems concerned but I realize that she can't stop me. She is still by the right side of the bed and I am on the left, closer to the door. I press my lips and snatch my arm away from her suddenly that she falls back and I use the chance to speed out the door. I turn to my left and the to my right.
Three men in black are approaching our direction, from the left side. Based on the expensive look on the old women, I suspect these must be securities assigned for us. To the right there are lines of rooms and the corridor is filled with doctors and nurses. I rush to one of the nurses and stops her from where he was up to.
"I'm sorry where is the psyche ward?" She frowns looking at me quizzical. "Please, I just need to visit my friend. Please, I miss her and I bet she does as well." She looks young, too young. Perhaps she is here volunteering.
"Okay, okay," she looks away and press her lips thinking. "Be quick, go straight ahead, and down the stairs," she arched her forehead at me but I rush my way there. I can hear Rose calling out for me and then I turn to still a glimpse. Just as I suspect it, I see her explaining herself to the securities.
I get to the psyche ward and to the information desk.
"Hey, you can't be here," one of the nurses stands from her sit looking at me frowning.
"I know, I'm here to visit my friend. Cat, her first name is cat."
"Yes, that's what they call me," I turn to my left where Cat is walking in the support of a male nurse. "Am I the Cat you're looking for?" She seems like she has lost her mind, like she forgotten me."
"Yes, it's..."
"I said you can't be here," the nurse repeats herself as she walks around the desk to stop me. She seems disappointed that I am showing insubordination to her wish.
"Okay," I bark at the nurse but looking over her shoulder, to Cat, I stretch up too see her excited face. "Cat, you remember me, it's Bekim," I project my voice to her.
"You need help?" The mail nurse with Cat asks the nurse who is between me and Cat. The nurse with me nods to answer to him and he helps Cat to sit on a chair to get to me.
"Who are you? Are you friend?" I frown in shock and confused. This isn't like Cat. The way she talks feels like she is learning to communicate like the first time.
"This is Bekim, the freak, remember..." I scream but the mail nurse gets closer and yanks me out the ward. "Please, let me see her. Please."
"You can't, she needs to rest." He adds through his teeth.
I see thin hands on his left hand that's gripping me tight. I turn to look up and I realize it's Rose.
"Hands off her," she orders him and like she is in control of his body, his mind he simply lets me go. "Let's go," she says to me and in fear I quietly lead the way up the stairs back to the corridor that takes to the room I was into.
"I suppose we should leave now," The old Audra says to me as she simply leads the way. The three securities are simply having us in between as they walk us out. I doubt if she cares that I am still in the hospital patient closing. It appears she is disappointed that I attempted to speak with Cat.
"What happen to her, what happened to Cat?" I ask her hesitant to follow her in to the luxurious car she just jumps into, ahead of me.
"Answers shouldn't be rushed, and you ask too much." I turn to see Rose who is still standing behind me and to the securities.
Closing my eyes, I take the time to think, but nothing. I am alone and I have no choice. I got in the car and Rose followed but in the front seat.
Once we get to the airport, we walked straight to the private jet section and I frown to the black plane with blue printing of a name on it, 'Adhara.' We walk up the stairs to enter in.
"Who are you peoples?" I don't mean to be loud but the old women turn to see me as she stands by the entrance into the plane.
"You know us, you just couldn't remember," she smiles and I believe this is the first time I see her smiling ever since we meet. When she smiles her sky-blue eyes brightens her look.
"Who are you?" I ask once again.
"I am Audra," she turns around walking ahead as I follow her in. That wasn't my question at all and not the answer I was looking for. "I am your grandmother."
"Mom and dad never mentioned you."
"Oh, child," she presses a smile as she sits and I take one before her. "I am your biologically related family. I mean, I am your grandmother." She answers to me and I gasp, in shock, or surprise, or... I don't know. "Welcome home, or welcome back home, Bekim," she deepens her smile revealing her too white tooth. "Or shall I use your primary name, Adhara."
